Haha.. Mine doesn't stick either it's just sitting in place. I thought about putting a dab of glue just so it won't move.

Thanks! Glad you appreciate it! Stability is unchanged, I do not have any problems while moving the neck around. Enjoy! Feel free to post your mods!

Where do you work that they allow their employees to go on forums and write (unfinished) reviews??

Cool MOC, I just noticed all the scrap in the back was the grievous wheel bike and a Tri-droid I believe that came with the 2nd gen B-wing, As I have one too, and it's the only set I can think of that had one.

I had finally taken pictures of the cockpit. I was able to squeeze in 2 Drivers with Veers in the back. The head was always big enough, LEGO made the neck so long that it cut into the inside space. So I shortened the neck piece and modded the interior while keeping the exterior the same for the most part. I also stuck a red lightsaber piece between the slopes to act as the window, which really improves the menacing look of the walker. Too bad I only have one of the light blue/grey pilots, as the white one in comparison does not compliment each other well. (For that matter, while a spectacular figure. Why did LEGO make the pilot a light blue/grey, they look white in most reference shots I have seen??) I added a nice big control panel for both the drivers. Full Gallery: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/401308 Here Something_Awesome, I took your idea and thought I would try it out, it looks pretty good. Hope you guys like it!

Great review. I am really on the fence about this one. The only thing I am not to crazy about is the "bubbly" bumpers, slap the 2000 version printed slopes and I think we would have a winner! They could have at least used the 6x6 rounded slopes and doubled them up similar to the 2009 one. It does look fancy good along side the new MTT too.

This is true. I just had that price in mind when I saw the first images of it. it did not appear to be this big or complex, but new sets are getting so much more advanced than what they used to be.

Awesome! I am really looking forward to buy this, but is it really $50.00 US? I was hoping more around $30.00. Also, I was wondering how the hip section for the legs work, does it have a stiff turning axis to it?
-
Wow this is great! I really like the way you made the legs on the acklay! genius! I'll be sure to vote for it

I pretty much have the mod done, I just left some necessary pieces in my apartment at school (the AT-AT's at my house) in order to finish it off. Then I will take pictures. I'll admit that it came out better than I imagined. I kept the outside of the head the same, whilst changing the inside completely, now it can fit 2 drivers and Veers! Those are very simple mods, but it looks great, maybe I''ll try it out and show ya, I think I have a few police sets with some trans red tiles I can borrow. I took a red light saber rod and stuck it in between the slopes, that looks pretty cool, other than it does not stay in place at all. I thought about designing a thin sticker with a window design that could go in place and finish the look off, but that's just an idea at this point. I really like the platform you have got there, I would like to make one myself someday. Coming soon! give me a couple weeks..

Very Nice! I like the way you made the hips, looks very posable. Mine's about the same size as yours but i am having trouble fitting two drivers in it for some reason. The neck in my opinion looks kind of thin, but it completes the model. it;s very simple but accurate. One question, Whats with the rubber band in the back?

Thank you, I know it's not much, but I don't really like changing a lot on the initial set unless it increases the functionality, I try to keep the looks the same. Ill post it when ever I get to it ;) Cool, could you post a picture of the visor? You should build it soon, it was a pretty fun 2 hours, and had some very interesting techniques of holding everything together. Go for it!

Hey guys! I just now finally took pictures of it, But I would like share with you a few simple mods I made to the new AT-AT. I don't believe I have seen anyone else make mods or at least post them. This was a spectacular set for this year, but it lacked interior functionality, and that trap door was not doing it for me. So I decided to make a two story deck/platform, for which (in my case) holds up to 8 troopers. I based it off of Incredible Cross Sections interior detail.(Who doesn't anymore?) I have also modded the back portion to fit a speeder bike (or something, maybe a hot tub?), because that was useless space, and needed to be filled with something useful. Screw Structure! I also thought the walker looked a little thin in the front and back so I bulked it up to be more accurate, I understand LEGO does not have any pieces for these angles so they used the closest thing. I plan to modify the head further to fit two pilots and Veers behind them, because that cockpit so so CRAMPED. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/401308 Thanks for looking! let me know what you think.

Very very Greebly. You used some very interesting techniques to tackle the formidable shape. I thought the cockpit was a bit too boxy, but giving it a second look, it has a sort of slant to it. I think the "hip" section has to the most fantastic part of it. Looks the sturdiest too. The feet look perfect, but do not look like they will support the model. The way you used the medical bed legs in the back portion is genius! Also the side guns are simple but effective. Awesome MOC! Any plans on building any part of this in the future?(even thought not all pieces are available in grey)

Nice responses from everyone. I am just curious, because my life is getting busier as I am getting older. And the question just came up as to anyone has time to do a hobby like this while managing a job and family.
-
This is just a general question that I am sure people want to see answered. I see some people on here making MOCs all the time, especially when contests come around, you guys are pumping MOCs out like crazy it seems. I am still slowly working/reworking on MOCs I started years ago. How do you (or anyone in this case) find time to build?? Also, how can you afford pieces for large MOCs? and..Do you guys keep your builds or tear them down for a new one?

First I have to say I think these are one the ugliest speeder bikes in the Star Wars universe! BUT this is a very nice MOC, I like the second one in particular, especially the color scheme, and it seems to be in minifig scale. Great job!

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
Smitty500 replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can finally understand the shape of this ship! LEGO's is kind of messy, while yours is very smooth and sleek. I really think you did this ship justice! I actually kind of like the ship now, and feel the need to make my own, but lack the time.. Great job! -
I'll have to check out that forum, and brush up a bit on what you are talking about with exporting groups and separate file mumbo jumbo Ah, gotcha! I tend to goof off too..
-
Other than the wings being slightly over sized.. This is an excellent MOC! I think the stability will be Okay, as long as your not swooping too hard (if you plan to build this). I loved LEGOs Clone Wars version, and it really made me appreciate the ship, until I scrapped it to make it into a V-19 Torrent. The combination of 75004 and 9493 are seamless.

Thank you, this helped a lot. I have never really seen anyone talk about doing instructions, I always see digital models, but never knew if they were much better than LDD, especially when it comes to building. Thanks again, the rest of the research upon me now. and 5 months? holy cow, I don't think I would want to spend more than a month on it.
-
Anyone know of any good programs that can create digital instructions for LEGO's. I've tried LDD and its OK, but they tend to throw stuff out of order or make some of the connections impossible when in real life they are possible.

[MOD] Republic Gunship Spotlights (75021)
Smitty500 replied to Blackice200's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I modded my 7676 after the 75021 in order to be more accurate. I closed the archway and scrapped the bacta tank, instead it now has a storage area and a place to which some ball turrets or in the is case some spot lights would attach to (which I intended on doing... eventually) This is way more accurate than the original. I think a ball joint would work great in securing the lights or some ball turrets, my method works but is not the most secure. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/387743
