  1. Some pictures of the park... Entrance gate: Bell tower: Courthouse: Flower garden: Orangerie: Tropical garden: Lighthouse:
  2. I love the forced perspective in this build. Your rockwork is excellent as always, and the use of orange is well done. And the tree growing from the rocks is really cool.
  3. Good torso selection for the uniforms! And I like the loose mosaic SNOT technique on the floor -- cool effect! Good luck in the soccer cup!
  4. Excellent gallows. The bracing and the stools are good elements. I may borrow that design. And I always enjoy the installments of Sinbad's story. Also, I like the city scene in the background in general. You've got some nice window and door details there. Looking forward to seeing more of it!
  5. Great job copying the Trador style. I really enjoy seeing people build to match other builders' styles. I love the "gingerbread" look of the build. Great use of those microfigs and the tooth pieces, as well as the seagull. Good luck in the soccer cup!
  6. It was fun seeing this build come along in your WIP updates. The final result does not disappoint! The interior turned out very nice, and I didn't come close to matching your excellent level of exterior detail. And I'm still laughing about the "old deluded man with a stick and bone"! Very fun, and an excellent setting for the next session of the Colonial Council.
  7. Excellent tropical garden! There are a lot of elements to this build that I like: nice color among the foliage (where does that red bush piece come from?), good use of tiles to create some texture along the path, the lady with her butterfly net, parrots and a monkey (I'm so glad someone worked in a monkey!), and the Brickwall statue has an excellent pose! A wonderful part of Brickwall Memorial Park!
  8. One of the first structures in Brickwall Memorial Park, once you are through the entrance gates, is the bell tower attached to the new Fuerte Unido city administration building. The bell rings every hour, symbolically spreading the message of freedom, prosperity, and cultural exchange, and as a reminder of the Brickwall family's sacrifice in the war with Mardier. Small citrus trees, native to the southern coast of the island, have been planted around the building. It is expected that patrons of the park will be free to pick fruit from these trees, but these newly planted trees are not yet bearing fruit, so this young lady has stopped to smell the flowers... ... and perhaps has met a friend. The caretaker of the bell tower takes a moment to get some fresh air and waves to park patrons below. One more view of the bell tower... All C&C welcome.
  9. Brickwall Memorial Park in Fuerte Unido, on Isla de Victoria (formerly Isla de Medio), is Eslandola's memorial to members of the Brickwall family who fell during the war with Mardier. The entrance is marked by two large white marble pedestals. The pedestals stand astride the Avenue of the Brickwalls, and each also includes a pedestrian archway. Each pedestal is topped by a statue of a heroic member of the Brickwall family. On the left is a statue of Admiral Brickwall Adurnos, who was felled by a cannonball while attempting to break a Mardierian naval blockade. On the right is a statue of General Brickwall Murion, who fell at the Battle of the Bridge of Arbol. A view from above the gate: And a view through the gate to the bell tower in the park (loosely inspired by this scene from my college campus): ------------- All C&C welcome.
  10. Beautiful! The trees and foliage are perfect for the Autumn Isle, and the tavern is impressive in its own right. I agree that there is a certain Rohan quality to it, but that works here. The base and angle of photography do an excellent job of creating a natural feel. I like the thatched roof a lot, but will agree with Kai that just a little dark tan mixed in would have moved this from an A to an A+, so to speak. Eslandola certainly appreciates your contributions to Hojaroja, and now Willem Guilder has a place to get a drink when he stops in on his way back to An Holli.
  11. I thought I had commented on this build, but I see that I haven't! A lovely build. I especially like the various Corrish units depicted in it. The variety of ESL troops is also nicely done. Wonderful job with the sloping terrain, the marching column turning the corner, and the use of non-green greens! You're doing some great work with natural scenes and colors lately!
  12. Great first BoBS ship! I was going to say great little ship, but it really isn't that little. It looks very playable, too. And that rigging is looking great! Very nice all-around!
  13. Great story! And well illustrated. I particularly like the varied bluecoat uniforms in the first picture. I also like the photos from the defenders' perspective in the battle scenes.
  14. Great prospecting build! I like the varied colors and textures on the shack, and the foliage and water is nicely done as well. And a good story to go with it.
  15. Somehow I failed to comment on this earlier. Adorable little dock! The rockwork is an interesting technique. (Thanks for including the inspiration build for that.) And for some reason I really like that last photo with Capt Whiffo in the foreground and the build in the background.
  16. Wonderful build! Excellent clocks and workbench tools! I also didn't realize some of those pieces on the exterior came in gold.
  17. I really like this build! The great use of non-regular greens, the overall design of the house (roofline and porch in particular, cheese slopes above the windows), and the nice contouring of the base. Minifig building and posing (parasol, patient's face) are also excellent. Frist rate all around!
  18. @Phred, Nova Malto is still showing two medium forts on the spreadsheet when it should be only one. FYI.
  19. We feel your pain, believe me. And by very close, we mean we're trying to get it rolled out before the end of the month. We really are very close.
  20. Thanks! Thanks! I agree that my landscape suffers mightily when I'm in a hurry. I tried to dress it up a little bit beyond a 16x16 square, but I admit it wasn't much. And thanks for noting the roof. I was very happy with how that turned out.
  21. If you decide you do have time for BoBS, check out the Quick Start guide. The game isn't as complex as it looks. Create a character, choose a faction, and post and introduce said character and off you go. Or feel free to ask questions in the Introduction thread. Whatever faction you might join, there will be players ready and willing to help you through the early steps of getting established, getting your first property and first ship, and whatnot. And each faction has group PMs for their group plans, so once you join a faction, you'll be part of a group, not just out on your own without any guidance. This is also a great time to join, as we're about to release some revised rules, so you'll be in on the ground floor of our "Era II".
  22. I also missed commenting on this. I like the use of dark green plates under the green plants, and the spare use of stones on the path. Good use of color, including natural colors on the ground and bright colors on the house (and in the flowers). I also like that the workers are still finishing the roof. Nice build all around.
  23. Thanks. I'm not sure why more people don't build mills in BoBS. They're perfect factories for the age of sail period. Regarding the roof, I used a traditional slope build just for the ease of construction, as I wasn't going very fancy on this. Same for the door, as using the angled door frame was part of my initial challenge to myself, but I agree that a good brick-build door is always nice. I've done a few, including ones you can find in this build. Thanks! Will these start to pop up on Oleon islands with tan cows looking on? Thanks! With the red brick printing on the panels, I had to do something to continue it onto the other walls. And the general design with the angled walls wound up working better than I initially expected. No advanced techniques, but it works. Now I have to build one that I can license for myself.
  24. I like the contrasting styles of the two buildings. The offices have the various trim colors and look very permanent, while the warehouse is a smaller, simpler structure. The double doors are a nice feature of the warehouse. Also, I find myself drawn to the brick-built boat! Very nice all around!
