  1. There’s nothing wrong with a wishlist, just something fun for us AFOLs, even though we know they’re not likely to be made. They’ve surprised us in the past. Most notably, 8404. We may not see whole subthemes of the other stuff, but we’re getting out of the ordinary sets every now & again, like the Harvester. Sadly for us, they are far & few between. I’m with you on the current state of City, I’d much rather see more variety in smaller sets. Sets like Capital City & Donut Shop Opening are great. But there’s plenty in both sets that I wish weren’t there because we have plenty of that stuff already. In the case of the Donut Shop, I would’ve preferred not having the toy store & make the donut store bigger and no crane truck & police stuff. But I know the target audience, they want action, which is why the crane is there to lift the Donut sign on the building.
  2. What would be cool, and to continue with the “107” numbering is to use the corresponding colors in the other townhouses, if possible. I agree. We were definitely in need of some differing width buildings, so that is very much welcomed. Personally, I just wish they would’ve done something other than a bookstore in this case. While easy to correct, it’s too empty for such a small shop(or maybe they just had a big sale ). What I was hoping we’d see someday is another 32x48 with three separate businesses but in one solid building, akin to a strip mall. That would be something fun & different for the theme.
  3. City seems to be a catch all. I wouldn’t consider farming to be under a City banner, but it is. It encompasses more than just city life, it also involves that guy who is waiting for the bus, to get to his job of volcanic exploration & study(or any other “action” sub theme released under the City banner). That’s how I take the theme to be anyways.
  4. Best Theme: Hidden Side Best Set: 70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! Best Minifigure: Jack Davids(love the hat/hood piece) Worst Theme: Technic Worst Set: Anything Technic(sorry Technic fans just not my thing) Worst Minifigure: CMF Firefighter Most Anticipated for 2020: A toss up, 10270 Bookshop & 75267 Mandalorian Battle Pack...both ends of the price spectrum there.
  5. Ah, well...I was just answering his list. I was delighted to see the chameleon in a new color. I did notice the foliage recolors & am excited to get those. For sure. As I said above, I’m excited for those. Seeing all those yellow leaf pieces in the Treehouse had me jealous. Then I see we get the small leaf pieces & that little plant part in olive green...yes please! And good point about this being the first proper tree we’ve gotten. I’m the guy who just uses 2x2 brown round bricks for builds.
  6. There’s definitely plenty of negativity, just look at each Modular released the last few years, both design & price are criticized. As to the owners of said sites writing puff pieces for sets, that may be true. We’ve also heard that TLG doesn’t tell them how to review a set. Lastly, bad experiences tend to sour people on things they previously liked, I won’t fault you for that. But to think negatively of the entirety of what LEGO has released, to me, is a bit much. Being turned off to today’s sets doesn’t mean you have to abandon the old you like. I understand. I’ve missed out on things myself. Although I’ve never ordered from their website, I’m a phone in order person so I can’t relate to missing out on stuff from a glitch or server going down, but I know the feeling.
  7. I mean, the OP did overreact on the considering selling their entire collection & cancelling a bunch of orders. I understand the frustration of missing out on something, but damn...
  8. Aww, congratulations! What a great little build. A little chaotic(as life will feel sometimes for you starting next summer) but the end result is a thing of beauty. Lovely scene. As is your older one. I love all the greenery & the framing of the scene using a fence.
  9. The only new parts are the recolors of the bird & scarf, I believe. Tea cups, pink umbrella & pumpkins have shown up in HP sets this year. The propeller is a spinner hat in the City Donut Shop Opening. The light grey rounds have shown up in a few sets.
  10. Yeah, that was fun. Along with the “107” & the meaning behind the old couple. While I don’t quite mind the face change(having the rocker dude from Diner would be sorely missed) I did love having the classic smileys. It was a nice little dose of nostalgia to go with the big, elaborate builds. I wish they would’ve saved one side or the other for future years. It would’ve been nicer to see a full on 32 bookstore so the store could’ve had more shelves & books. Or two similarly built townhouses together. Unlike others though, I get a big San Francisco vibe from both buildings, especially the townhouse.
  11. As I have a “downtown” look to my city, I would’ve preferred two businesses as well. But my town here has repurposed quite a few houses into businesses, so I’ll just make this that way as well. Ditto. I really don’t care about interiors as I only see them as I build the set & when I’m rearranging the city & take the floors off. The only place I feel interiors are necessary are situations like the bookstore, where you have big windows that you can see inside of.
  12. Going off the “107” above the door, it’s gotta be another townhouse.
  13. Wow! I am in love. It looks fantastic, I love the blue building, that roof is awesome. Great recolor parts too. Now that the reveal torture is over.....now the January 1st torture truly begins.
  14. I’m not too bothered by it, I still group my clones together. I would just differentiate them as a squad/unit/platoon. Like the newer Clones have that line above the visor where the old ones don’t. I could make them a special unit or some such. It is a little irksome though, as they are supposed to be exactly alike. The leg prints bother me a lot less, they’re pretty much hidden when in formation anyways.
  15. I’m not overly fond of them either. I usually end up getting about half a series the last few years(except I bought my first box...Harry Potter). But these just don’t excite me really. As I said above, I only have two must buys & one, GL, is mostly because I have all the other ones.
  16. I agree completely with those two colors pairing well together. It’s why the WV train station is my favorite of the bunch.
  17. No, I played around with it years ago, but nothing since. My idea was just in my head & built & tinkered with as I get pieces for it. It started with a clever window build I saw awhile back & I just went from there.
  18. Nice start, a simple little building to help get you going is not a bad jumping off point. Plus, you can always add to or change things a lot easier down the road. That’s pretty much what I did.
  19. @BrickG To your comment about The Child’s power boost....how much do we actually know about that species’ Force sensitivity? Maybe at that age they are very attuned to it. There’s likely a reason he’s the “stoic boring guy” that we’re unaware of at the moment(like the flashbacks of his childhood, he could be closed off because of it) & could be the driving force of the story. He’s already changed a lot because of the kid. It seems he never once saved a bounty before. And we know he has issues & troubles thanks to his interactions with the farmer woman. He has plenty of character,
  20. How did I miss this? Looks great! It definitely represents the room well. The brick bricks make for a nice stone floor.
  21. WIth the rumored price increase, I only plan initially on getting two, Baz & Garrick. I ha e all the other Lanterns so I can’t leave him out. And Garrick is just awesome. Once we see the review I may end up wanting more. There are others I want, but not enough to pay that price.
  22. Your creativity always blows me away, love your builds. And those figures you make have so much personality.
  23. This looks fantastic. It certainly resembles the movie building a lot. The angled bit is a great touch. Anytime is a good time for MOCs such as this. Well done.
  24. Ha! I totally missed the cat in the tree. That’s a nice touch for sure.
  25. Nice work. I like the arch over the bay door & the detail on the top. The building is reminiscent of the WV fire station with the smaller building with larger tower. I don’t know if that was intentional, but I like the mix of Fire Brigade & that station. The greenery on the building is a nice touch to break up things & I like the driveway.
