Oh, I know that feeling. When I got back into LEGO, off I went to eBay & bought all the Castle Ninja sets(minus a few of the smaller ones) & most of the Forestmen sets. Nostalgia is huge.

I’m loving the show. It definitely has an old school SW vibe to it.

In the realm of Castle, I’d start by looking at the Kingdoms theme from a handful of years ago. Great sets & minifigs throughout the entire line. And hopefully cheaper than the older Classic stuff. Plastic containers. Pretty much however you plan on collecting, you’re gong to need a lot of containers. Towns. Just start where you can & it’ll grow as your collection does. I’m always looking at videos & pictures of others’ towns to get ideas on both building placements & small builds to bring your city to life.

Good gravy, a lot of Chicken Littles over this news. All we have to go off is the CMO’s word that little to nothing will change, especially regarding sellers. This sounds like a promising thing as it gives the company more insight into us AFOLs.

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Vindicare replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ah yes, that’s her, thank you. I like that idea, that they’re excommunicated. It’s a shame at least a couple didn’t have jet packs, but like guns, it’s easy to remedy. That’s pretty much what I figured when I read the association with the show. -
LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I’m glad to see we’re finally getting a different visor design, as we saw in TCW show(her name is escaping me). These color schemed ones could show up in one or more of the other 5 episodes we have left. Or the “based on” is simply due to being Mandalorians who aren’t Fett. -
Picked up AT-ST Raider today...for obvious reason. And that was before I saw the amazing Mando BP coming out!

Who Remembers Pharaoh's Quest?
Vindicare replied to Max_Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Definitely the Anubis, who didn’t love those? I’m a fan of the other mummies as well, although that leans more towards their headdresses & wings. I liked the departure with grey bandages as well. -
Bought myself an early early Christmas present, 75254 AT-ST Raider. Needed that Mando!

Who Remembers Pharaoh's Quest?
Vindicare replied to Max_Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Boy do I! I loved all those Action themes that came & went during those years, most of all PQ. I actually bought that entire line in one fell swoop, which is a rarity. The new parts & minifigures are fantastic. -
They could throw him into the next Castle section, depending on which movie they base it off. Otherwise yeah, he’ll go where the other filler teachers go. I do like the idea of it for the next Advent Calendar.

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

Well, the polybag makes me feel better about not getting the SDCC set. Although, given how hard it is to find good polybags around here, I might’ve been better off. -

Nice work. It looks a lot better with the pier underneath it. Good use of the different Hidden Side parts as well. -
Will Hidden Side Age Well?
Vindicare replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I love the theme & couldn’t care less about the app. So for me they’ll age just fine because the sets I have/will get(haves-Graveyard, Boat, & Bus. Just need the Shack) will always be usable either in my town or with Apocalypseburg, where I have the bus with a few HS things taken off. The second wave is a bit lacking compared to the first, but I still like it. The minifigs are fantastic in both waves. -
(Moc) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Wagon

That’s what I’m talking about! Looks great. I do like the one we got years back from the Nick cartoon, but nothing beats the original. Nice work. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vindicare replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I’m right there with you. These will pretty much always be an instant buy, soo long as they keep consistent like they have. I’m ready for something a bit smaller height wise, everything is too close. I’d love to see a complete two story building like the bar/office half of the Detective’s Office. -

LEGO Hidden Side 2020
Vindicare replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I totally forgot about that. It certainly felt like an action theme kind of torso, not so much a City one. I’m not familiar with the “Turbo Wheels” subtheme, but that’s probably our best guess at the moment. The name suggests it could be something kinda outlandish. -
LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Overall, a little less than last wave. Those builds felt more complete. I love the new hat/hair combo for Jack. I guess maybe they went with such a different route with the subway is because they didn’t want it being too similar to last year’s train set? All the minifigs are once again the standouts, they’re fantastic. What a great assortment in that portal set! With the subway & lighthouse, it’s a shame we didn’t get normal views too, as that kinda skews the set. The subway car looks similar to the train, where the front opens up like a mouth. Good wave though. Much like last wave, I’ll probably pick up half of them. -
Do you "follow the instructions", build your own, or both?
Vindicare replied to hagridshut's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I’m most definitely an instructions follower. I’ve MOD’ed a few things, but they were minor things. If I ever build my own things, it’s small decorative items around my town. The biggest reason is that I’m a set collector, & don’t sort by part. So that hinders my want to MOC a bit. If I do, I buy the parts. But I will pull parts from sets to test things out. -
In terms of delivery, take a look at the comment I quoted. That reads to me like you’re personally insulted that people don’t see things your way. In one thread recently, someone disagreed with you on something, & you accused them of crushing your hopes & dreams. It’s just a lot. I largely agree with your opinions on City. I’d love to see more variety in the businesses & vehicles we get. It was the only reason I bought that van & trailer set a few years back, because we’ve rarely, of ever, seen a van. I have more than enough trailers... likewise, I’d love more businesses than pizza places & bike shops, and banks, but they are few & far between. Understanding why LEGO sells what they do so frequently may help your views. Now, one could argue that the company doesn’t know if a set/theme based around X wouldn’t sell just as well as police & fire, but as much research as TLG does, I think it’s fair to say they know better. On the other hand, as well received as 8404 was, among AFOLs at least, it’s a bit surprising we haven’t seen something similar to it since.

[REVIEW] 10266 Apollo Lander - The Hoax
Vindicare replied to beach_dr's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The best review I’ve read. I love the approach you took & the way you told the story. I also really love when minifigs build sets, so that’s a huge plus. Great job! -
How was The Last Jedi an “outright flop” when it made $1.3B worldwide(gross of $620M, opening of $220M, cost of $317M)? Or were you talking about Solo? Either way, there’s still enough fans out there that love or like what Star Wars is still doing, so they’re going to see the movies & most likely buy the merch. I knew I made a mistake clicking & reading this thread, as far as I did....I honestly can’t stand the negativity. The ones who don't like the new movies think they know best & that’s all there is to it. There’s millions upon millions of SW fans across this planet. Just because you know a handful who don’t like the new stuff doesn’t mean anything. Of the few comment threads I’ve read, it seems mostly positive, because it’s Star Wars, not everyone hates it. I’d wager there’s still FAR more people who are ready & waiting to see Ep. IX than those who are not.
