  1. It was Christmas in September in my house! I built everything already.
  2. 75964 Harry Potter Advent Calendar BaM pack 3 CMF 19- Monkey King, Dog Sitter, & Fox Costume Girl
  3. While not quite in that budget I imagine, I used the blue building from Medieval Market Village. Which just so happens to be a pub. I haven’t taken a look at that set on the secondary market so I don’t know if people split the set & sell it that way.
  4. This is fantastic. I love the use of 1x2 cheese slopes. The windows with panels gives a nice pattern as well, wry clever. That clock is pretty ingenious too. So simple, but is awesome.
  5. Great use of the MM Joker head. Good looking chandelier as well, I like the melted, deformed candles. It’s a shame Peeves wasn’t a thing in the movies at all...
  6. I’d have to check, but it appears like the Fox Suit Girl has the same tail as Rocket from the Marvel theme. It’s a more sturdy & thick tail, not prone to damage from fingers feeling around.
  7. Hard to say. From the few documentaries I’ve seen, only a glimpse of market research is discussed. However, I don’t think any licensed theme has ever been random. Trolls & Minions both have movies coming out, so they are taking advantage of the hype & release with sets. The only recent theme I can think of is Overwatch. Not in the random sense, but more of a “late to the party.” I only play Starcraft II, but I feel like Overwatch has been overshadowed by Fortnite lately. Overwatch’s a great theme though, I have a few of the sets. That D.Va & Reinhardt set has some of the best mechs I’ve seen since getting back into LEGO 12 years ago. You do know the point of a public forum, yeah? I don’t even think your opinion is on Police is the issue, it’s your delivery. I’d say most AFOL’s are right there with you on the amount of Police sets we get(although oddly missing in the Modulars department). From my perspective, your comments read like you’re taking this, both the Police sets & people talking to you about them, as a personal insult. It’s not. It’s simply discussion.
  8. Eh, a fireplace is warranted. They had some noteworthy scenes throughout the series. Plus, it’s a Christmas time staple.
  9. Kinda ironic, eh? You can’t seem to handle that Police sets sell. Now, I do agree that Police take up too much room & would much prefer other businesses & buildings. Like the 3661 Bank & Money Transfer set & 60008 Museum Break In, which are great smaller buildings. These days it seems like we only get those other buildings in the big $100+ sets. It’d be nice to see cheaper single building sets again. But TLG knows what they’re doing. They do the market research. If Police didn’t sell, they wouldn’t continue making it year after year.
  10. It was definitely nice getting so much content, but boy, did some of those leave me wanting more. Particularly Monster Fighters & Pharaoh’s Quest.
  11. Ooh, that’s a cool idea...now I may have to get it. Now we, sorta, have confirmation. According to Promobricks(2019 Hidden Side thread) has it set for tegu 2nd through 15th of next month. Hopefully we’ll soon find out where the rest of us stand on the promo timeline.
  12. Yeah, despite the price, I didn’t really plan on buying that set as I don’t find it all that interesting. The plan I’m sticking to, for now at least, is just the Graveyard, Boat, Shrimp Shack, & Bus. But the more I build the sets(I have Graveyard & Boat) & look at the others, the more I like it & will likely end up with everything...
  13. As it sits, it could fit well in Apocalypseburg. Just switch the techy stuff for more primitive arms. I’m forcing myself to not buy this(and the Shack) for now. Mostly waiting to see what’s up with that Juice Bar. I like the minifig line up the best in here, the alternates for Jack & Parker are great & my only chance to get J.B.
  14. That sounds a lot better than the car ones I think. They’ve been making great mechs lately, so if this is the case, I may have to get them all.
  15. What’s with this asking to move on...it’s in the HP thread as well. Maybe I’m seeing things, but the word “speculation” is in the topic title. That means talking about leaks I imagine as well, & what they might go with. If people don’t care to read more about a chinstrap head, don’t.
  16. We did get two heads & a hair with the first Captain Marvel minifig, so while it’s rare, it’s not unheard of.
  17. Doesn’t seem like a Ninjago torso, that belt that looks to be the car seatbelt style belt. That, to me, wouldn’t fit with Ninjago. It could be a possessed person for next wave of HS, maybe a grease monkey.
  18. I initially wasn’t a fan of that little side build in this set. Now that I’ve built it & see that you can put the wrecked boat up there, it’s fantastic. The Jonas’s are great minifigs & that new tentacle piece is super cool.
  19. I too have built both the Graveyard & Shrimp Boat. While the builds are very different, the boat was the more enjoyable one. I do love all the headstones & caretakers shack. I want to try to put the entire set in the side yard of the Haunted House, but it’s an odd layout. Just checked my stickers, all is well. I love Jack & Parker & it’s nice to have different face prints in both sets. I’m loving this theme more & more.
  20. Well, this theme isn’t based on the dolls from back then, they’re based on the new movies. The first one that grossed nearly $350 million worldwide. And it’s getting a sequel, so I imagine there’s plenty of people who would want them. As an AFOL, the idea of it being a theme doesn’t really excite me, at least until I see the sets, because I had no interest in the movie. But the sets could be good, just gotta wait. It could be a fun theme.
  21. Ahh, that explains it. I didn’t pay a lot of attention it that series(or Nexo Knights/JW for that matter). I did know the balloon boy hair though. The Champs torso I do know is a BaM exclusive.
  22. Looking at your minifigs again, I love that face on the girl in the blue(second picture) far right. I still need to grab that hair as well. But I don’t remember seeing that face print...or the glasses one next to her. I’ll have to keep an eye out.
  23. I instantly saw the flag awning, what a great use of that piece. I love the floor patterns as well, especially the glass shop.
  24. That could be real fun, a candy store decorated in that way. I do kinda agree with you on a gingerbread family, it seems weird. Those cookies are certainly heavily involved with Christmas, but having cookies being real & mingling with the others is strange. His just make them people dressed up as the cookies.
  25. I love it. Everything from the sign, to the booths, & the ice cream behind the counter.
