  1. In my totally personal opinion, these minidolls are a missed oportunity. I´ll explain; I´ve long longed for better minifigs, instead of the short fat gnomes that currently inhabit our cities. Alas, the minidoll, -which looks a lot better, and is much better proportioned (anatomically)- has less funcionality (no moving of legs independantly, no moving of hands) -and STILL occupies 4 studs wide (instead of ideally 2). In addition it is highly incompatible with the minifigs. (only hair-pieces and head-wear can be used) -and the hands can at least grip the same things. But other than that, it is much more difficult to use them. In addition there are also almost no male characters. I would have preferred a new universal figurine, to substitue the existing minifig WHILE at the same time being acceptable to girls. Nevertheless I recognize the huge success this product is, and I am thankful for all the nice new colours we have been blessed with. -So I am happy for TLC, that things are going well for them...
  2. Thanks. I quite agree that the bus could have been 7-wide. But my collection of bright cyan pieces didnt allow me too much margin. (Also the small train is already 7-wide) So again; Lots of comprimises... It´s NOT a railway station. Nice try! ;-)
  3. The back part was too long! This one is 1,5 plates shorter. (As mentioned, also the front was shortened 1 plate, although that was not a "problem-area") Actually... I dont!!! I know that it must sound strange, with all those Citroën-thingies I keep pumping out, but it is just a coincidence of me having been lucky in reproducing their characteristic shapes. These cars are much better than anything else I have done, so I have just stayed with them, trying to incorporate them into bigger dio´s. I dont own a Citroën. Havent owned one ever, and dont have any plans for owing one... (Now I also have to include that Idont have anything AGAINST them either. LOL) The whole dio will be presented at the end of this month. At the HispaLUG Expo 2013 in Madrid. Ha! -Good story. Thanks for sharing it! -And again; Thanks for the comments!
  4. Thanks a lot guys, for all the nice comments! Less than one month remain for the expo where the whole diorama will be shown!
  5. Wow. Absolutly fantastic project! Congratulations!
  6. "New soup on old bones". Some of you guys might say that about this presentation; and you would be right; Not much new to see here. This is mostly a collection of some reconstructions/modifications/borrowing of previous models, styles and tecniques... These are some of the compenents of the upcoming "One Big MOC 2". (mind you; not to confuse with the MegaMOC 2013!) First off, yet another rendition of my favorite 2CV. This time as an authentic delivery-truck for the spanish company "Panrico"; Next, the lovely Ford Capri returns. It has been completely rebuild, and finally I have solved a problem I had with the rear of it -some years ago. (Curiously enough it only took a moment to figure out what I then could not solve in DAYS, when I originally built it...) It is now one plate shorter in the front, and 1,5 plates shorter at the rear, making it much more true to the original prototype... I have also reversed-engineered MJaspers lovely Mercedes. This is MY version of it; I´ve included a photo of the clever front. I dont think I have seen anybody discolse how it is done. I did it using 2x3 wedgeplates... And now, for a "Friendly" bus; Thanks to all the "Friends" for the Bright Cyan... A nice 50´ies-60´ies truck (In medium blue); Oops! It seems that the blue building in the background has been very nice focused by the camera! (Yes, I blame the electronics in my camera, of course!) The Citroën DS20 in beige (sorry; "tan") colour; The VW T1 slightly modified... The Plymouth Fury also re-appears. This time with correct transclear headlights. (Less evil-looking); What is this... a joke¿? -A costum based on a 2CV¿? Gotta be kidding?! The forklift from the One Big MOC some 4 years ago has been rebuild for this ocasion; A Citroën Type H van in glazier version; Sorry to all german polizei-fans. This was NOT intentional... :-/ A transporter-truck, for some of my (many) 2CVs; And finally a "sneak-peak" of the WIP at One Big MOC 2; That´s all for now!
  7. Very impressive! The bird is nice, but the stump tree on the ground is excellent!
  8. Excellent build!!! Very inspiring: One could do "royal", "celebrity" or "wedding" carriages even for modern CITY layouts.
  9. Wo-Hoo! VERY, very nice!!! I like it a lot. Many things to mention here... First of all the original colour-scheme. The detail with the yellow-black warnings under the roof. The shop selling everything else apart form petrol (making normal petrol-costumers wait for ages, while kids get´s their hot dogs (tsk- tsk...). The parking-ticket machine on the top roof. The exclusive hot-rod club. (I was expecting a diner, but this one is ok too! -and the interior decoration is especially nice!) I´m not fan of hot-rods in general, and this MOC has a lot of them. I will imagine it with "normal" cars... ;-) Oops: I had to add these items of particular interest too: The original fuel-pumps and the floor hinge-plate at the bicycle stand!
  10. Nice. Very funny presentacion! ;-) -The guy looking for trousers reminds me of Bruce Willis in Die Hard...
  11. Nice! -You should have included a bonus photo of The Bride inside the coffin, 6 feet under...
  12. Very nice!
  13. Ha! Good one to bring this thread up again; Soon it is that time of the year, again. The church is very nice; Fits right in with the style of the official sets...

    Slotcar System

With the risk of sounding too coy, I´ll state already that THAT wont work at all! "A couple of centimeters"... Tsk-tsk. Even with a couple of MILLImeters you are in trouble. The load-force the magnet has to apply to pull a rolling car is quite huge... And yes; Indeed; What the guy was trying to do, is identical to the Faller Car System!

    Slotcar System

A guy in HispaLUG has tried to do just that. He didnt use the weak train-magnets, but strong neodyne ones. There are a couple of problems; The baseplates are still a little too thick, so the vehicle often looses track of the guide-wire. -And the magnet against the baseplates created quite a lot of friction.

    Slotcar System

VERY impressive! I suppose that this solution is also 100% pure Lego¿? It will look absolutly fantastic at a show. I aggree; The cars dont have to move much faster. When will we get to see photos of the insides¿? I fear that this system will be too part-intensive (=expensive) for most builders, though...
  17. Lovely light! Very, very clever, considered that you have kept it 100% pure Lego, although I doubt it is very economical that way (LEDs cost next to nothing in electronic shops, and fine isolated copper-wire is almost invisible and can be hidden very well. (Soldering skills needed... ) -That way you could also go for warm-white or even yellowish light, instead of the modern cold-white Lego leds... (I´m especially thinking about that lovely "gangster-style" photo you have posted here...) BTW: I think it is about time that Er0l got a "MOC Expert" icon added to his status. Where do one nominated people for that¿?
  18. Very nice build! Love the interior!
  19. Very profesional. Reminds me of teh Architecture Farnsworth house.
  20. Very impressive. Nice build.
  21. The dragon clinging to the rocky top is really good! -I like the first version better. Maybe because of the better angle of the photo...
  22. The chains and hitching? -Yes; my own design. -(But I´m sure it has been done a million times before I came along... )
  23. Rhanks for your comment. Unfortunatly I dont know what you mean with "traces", so I cant asnwer you.
  24. Hi all! MOD of the Lone Ranger 79108 set. The main idea was to preserve the overall beauty of the oficial Lego set, but downsizing the huge coach so that the horses dont look like Shetland ponies... I wanted to maintain the design with the two black under-parts. The chassis was totally rebuild, and only the 4 wheels has been carried over from the original set. The wheelbase is now 1 stud shorter and the gauge two whole studs narrower. The carriage also rides one brick lower. The hitching was also totally changed, and will now fit 4 horses. -So poor old Silver will now have to do double-duty as a pulling horse too. Sorry... ;-) The huge wheels is the main problem, so I put two plates under the horses legs. This makes the overall aspect somewhat better, and the unseemly clumpfeet can be further dissimulated by adding "gravel" and "dirt" on the baseplate where the set will go. The overall size of the cabin is the same as the oficial set. I added a door with window and door handle. A small access-stair was also added under the door. Colours has (obviously) been changed. Not that the original red colour is wrong, but the brown gives a more "weathered" look to it. The cabin is not just a simple colour-MOD; The 4x1 brown arc with grille-brick, window and curtain is actually build upside down, and is not connected to the rest in any way, but held in place (="prisoner") between the rest of the cabin and the roof. The luggage-shelf at the back was changed to something a lillte lighter and elegant (in my opinion). In the front, the drivers seat was lifted a little, and a brake-lever added. Lanterns were also made a little smaller. This is part of the upcoming MegaMOC 2013. Ciao!
  25. Very nice façade. Also nice interior decoration.
