In this case, the carriages of Euskotren are VERY narrow. You should google it first... If you wanted to be nitpicking, you should mention the track; I am using standard gauge Lego track, which isnt supposed to be narrow at all... ;-)

McLaren (Edit doesnt seem to let me correct the topic title :-( ) Edit; Thanks to the moderator who eventually changed the title. I dont know who you are, but thank you! :-) Hi all, I present you all yet another car for the MegaMOC 2014 Le Mans Racing Series diorama (Presented here some time ago). Although this adds a new car to the diorama, another car was retired (obviously the fantasy dark red one) from the original diorama. -So the count is still at 21 racers... This model is highly NON-purist... Not only do I use costum stickers, but I´ve even tried to paint over half a stud. (As seen in the photo above). Not something I will ever try again. Even much worse heresy was comiited making this car. Can you spot some of them? Also the assembly is highly unorthodox. Just take a look at the underside of the vehicle; Ciao!

Hi all, Here´s a quick build for an exposition close to Bilbao. (Town called Mungia). I´ll be exposing my "MegaMOC 2014" racing diorama, but also voluntered for a station and a train for the "Lego City"-group. It´s a 6-wide pure fantasy train, using the characteristic colours of the local Euskotren railways. (Actually, I dont know if this town still sees rail-service, but at least during that weekend, the train will arrive at the Munguia Station! lol) Also, the 6-wide model is quite adecuate, as the Euskotren company operates on narrow gauge track! It was a quick build, most time being spend optimizing the use of my very limited stock of dark blue pieces. Motorization is standard PF; -And at the end, a picture of the -also fictional- Mungia station building; Ciao!

Really excellent MOC. I like it a lot!!! (I love buildings in this design/style)

That´s a really lovely version of a very iconic car! This is very interesting, because I was also thinking about doing this very car i 6-wide too! -Now your can serve as inspiration! I think you did an excellent job. Maybe it will be impossible to improve on it...

Really well done. I like them!

3.25m long Jutlandia (Danish Hospital ship)
Hoexbroe replied to Konajra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wow. This is a surprise! You have done an OUTSTANDING job! Really amazingly beautiful build.l I hope Lego has known how to show their gratitude to you...?! ;-) I especially like the warm-yellow masts and rigging on the ships. First I was a little miffed, because I too had my eyes on this ship ship, if I was ever to go back to building big ships again (with curved hull, of course) -but seeing that it was Lego themselves who has asked you to do it, I can only applaud the result! lol It´s a good idea to include a little trivia about the ship. It has an interresting history. Also -if you dont know it already- you should listen to Kim Larsen´s song about the ship. He´s a danish singer. (World-famous in Denmark, hehe). He did a rather nice tribute to this ship and its service in Korea. (The song is called "Jutlandia"). If you can find the lyrics online, you could use Google-translate to understand them. It´s rather poetic. Again; congratulations on the excellent build! -
Hi all, Welcome to an additional extra car for the diorama. Key-parts kindly donated from a recent acquiered Friends-set. Model and brand is totally ficticious, but you can say that it has some inspiration from the R8 and the Porsches... The stickers are left-overs from when I did all the other cars of the diorama. I´m glad I didnt throw the sheets away just yet. (The diorama is packed away, awaiting one last exposition close to the Bilbao area in april.) Although the car is pure imagination, its construction style is "typical" for my cars, so I thought I´d share the build-up with your all. Instructions; Chassis; Front; Front and center with air-intake; Front assembly, showing prisoner part; Center parts; Center assembly showing prisoner part; Windows, roof and rear-wing construction; Rear wheel covers; Rear; Semi-assembly; Total assembly, except for view to rear window and wing; Final result; Ciao!

I dont remember if I have commented on this one yet, but I have certainly been following the build from earlier WIP photos. (I always follow any "curved-hull" construction with the most interest) It´s a very lovely boat, full of interresting and well-done detials! A first class build!

[MOC] Sarlacc's nectar and the truth about Boba's escape
Hoexbroe replied to DanSto's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Love it! Very clever and original. Excellently done! -
I think you could easily make the driving rods move too. Nice buffer-design too, by the way! ;-)

Very nice building. Funny vignettes. We should see the interior!
-
Nice, but why arent you going with street base plates¿?
-
Sorry, doesnt exist. However, builder "popider", -whose design my R8 is based on-, has a lot of LDD screendumps on his Flickr account. I mentioned the link earlier in the thread. I built my version using those same pictures.

Very nice, and I especially like the interior!

Very nice 2CV. Thanks for the mention.

Märklin K and C track is extremely complicated and expensive to produce. Yet the asking price is very reasonable when compared to Legos all-plastic PF track. ME tracks shows a VERY simple way to do it... There´s nothing wrong with a complicated and expensive product, if you can make the clients pay for it, and/or use it to peddle off other products (like rolling stock and motors). Actually I think most "real" model-railroading companies works like that. As far as I know, there wasnt really any alternative to 9V Lego tracks, until TCL themselves stopped the production. The PF-track, on the other hand, is already copied by various chinese and corean producers. TLC basically handed them the clientelle by utterly simplifying their product... Anyway this thread is of course going no-where. -But I am happy to have been able to let stea offm. Hopefully somebody form TLC follow the thread, and one day (also hopefully) somebody will again evaluate if the company should carry a "real" working train-system.

All of that is of course correct, but supposedly Lego is among the best injection-molders in the world, and hundreds of model railroad companies has been doing just that for the last 60-70 years. I dont really buy into the "tecnical difficulties" explanation, but certainly agree to that the process cost more money to do, than the all-plastic tracks. It´s a simple and typical bean-counter decision! It´s probably the perfectly right thing for Lego, seeing that they go the quantity way instead of that of excellence and quality...
