  1. Cool idea for a group story game! There's been some talk recently of trying to pull together a post-apoc thing on EB and this would fit right in.
  2. PM me and tell me more about that idea Jakon.
  3. Behemoth, you should take the advice you're being given rather than getting crabby because Eurobricks and its staff don't jump when you snap your fingers. Prove the idea has potential by starting it up in the Scifi forum. You know I'd do builds for it, but it has to start from scratch and can't have its own forum just because you say so. It's kinda like your GoH empire thing. You can't just demand to be made King of the Hill. You gotta pay your dues and work your way up.
  4. Ecc, you ol' purist you.
  5. Yeah, I checked with the Nocty folks to see if they were cool with it. I had an idea that just fit better with Nocturnus than with Mitgardia. Sometimes it's better to do a freebuild than to drop an idea or compromise it by trying to force it where it doesn't belong! Plus, great builders like you are a premium in every guild so it's better for all of us if you're working on fleshing out whatever land you want to.
  6. Most challenges allow non-purist parts. Depends on who's driving the challenge I think, but I'm not sure why a few are totally purist. I'd just pay attention to that and avoid challenges you don't want to do because being purist doesn't work for your collection. I'm lucky in that I have lots of Lego so I can always modify to purism if needed, as I did with Mount Up!.
  7. Ridiculously detailed, colorful, and beautifully executed. You spoil us, Ces. I'd like to see some close-ups!
  8. It's supposed to resemble Historica I think. I believe there's something in the works for Scifi that will be more like Heroica. Current status on this project is unknown. Presumably a group of contributors and regulators are still working on it in private but they've kind of stopped updating.
  9. I don't think there's anything wrong with the BW anvil. I have a couple of 'em myself and have been itching to use them. But then I have tons of BW stuff I've never used. :P
  10. Haha. Half my builds before I really got into Age of Mitgardia were cross-guild. I've done about 1/4 of my builds in Nocturnus (three phases of WoN and my contribution to the Whispering Wood battle).
  11. The camo capes are the standout here for me. I have to disagree with the others about the fallen tree. I can tell what it is, but it's still a bit messy and looks more like wood-colored rocks than a tree felled specifically for an ambush (if it's been there a while, it's appearance might make more sense). Anyway, it'd be a tough thing to build in high detail and resist using a stack of 2x2 round blocks so it's a good effort either way.
  12. Awesome. I love Norse-inspired and Tolkien-inspired stuff so this is the goods. Great build to accompany it and you have a talent for 'figs.
  13. Zulithe: I bought the guns from Brick Warriors (IIRC) and they're the perfect Big Irons to me. :P I just used small black rubber bands to hold them in place. In the first build, I used sword sheathes from the POTC sets but I didn't like how stretched they got from having guns in them. Plus, shoulder straps aren't quite right anyway. I'm glad you like the builds (and the books!). Stay tuned. I totally intend to finish this project at a rate of one build every week or two.
  14. Amazing landscaping here. Should be an inspiration to all Mitgardian builders. Really has a Skyrim vibe, too. Reminds me of the areas around Markarth.
  15. OP updated with new Build and the first for Book 2!
  16. Great work. Photography and lighting are exceptional and this is a great fig, too.
  17. Thanks LD. For the compliments and the hammer design! I agree about the water but not the corner. :P I built it like this to give it a kind of broken, rippled feel. Looking at it again, I could have taken that further and kept the rest of the base from being so square, which probably would have made the irregular part stick out less. Duly noted for next time! Thanks Jorrith! I think that the water is just about patience and having an eye for where to use the two shades of blue. It's not a complicated technique, just a time consuming one! Thanks a lot robuko. Thanks all! I'm really glad people like the water so much!
  18. Amazing work SK. I saw this on Flickr but the story really makes the build come to life. I love your Norse-style buildings and they are very inspirational for me. The interior on this one is maybe my favorite part but I also like the way you used 2x2 round blocks. You don't see those in these kinds of builds very often.
  19. Very cool build, Tot. I really like that cave entrance. The way the rocks are formed and narrow looks really natural to me. I also dig the authentic attempt at a gold mine and it's awesome to see the dragon in action (poor dragonslayer). Looking at the whole thing in your first couple of pictures... wow. So much work must have went into the foliage and rocks. Then you had to go the extra mile with running water. Tip of the hat, Tot. Tip of the hat.
  20. Hahaha I like this kind of thing. Of course, that king's reign ended that way because he was a bit on the cowardly side. Mitgardia don't suffer no cowards, yo.
  21. Welcome, brother. Good intro build. Love all the color and variety in the plants.
  22. ME: Yeah, some might say you're long-winded but they would be FOOLS. Haha. No seriously though, your writing is quality and the composition of your builds around it makes these a joy to read and look at.
  23. It's a really great hammer design. I like the Brick Warriors warhammers and I really like the Thor hammer especially for dwarves but wanted to try these out. Even though I have tons of 3rd party medieval weapons, I seem to gravitate toward brick-built a lot. Something satisfying about it I guess. I love those big dish shields and have tried to fit them into as many builds as possible! That is so gratifying to hear. Thanks Hammer. I try to bring the Norse to Mitgardia as much as I can. Hence all my references to Arnarvhall's "old ways". Thanks Len! Thanks for fixing that for me, kabel. You're my favorite regulator. I think you and SK pretty much led the pack for me when it came to establishing Mitgardia's base color schemes... and then there's Gunman of course. :P Same. Way, way more than light tan anyway. I think that dark tan gives a cold and somewhat harsh tone to the landscape of Mitgardia, which is suitable for parts of it and fits nicely with my Arnarvhall builds which mostly take place in winter. Fur cloaks and all. Arnarvhallings don't wait for the warm season to train! Thanks. Thanks Gun! And I think Alf answered ya. Thanks Alf! Thanks LV. And yeah, dark tan is what I seem to use the most for ground. Brown is too... brown? Looks like mud or rich dirt. :P And light tan seems to be sand which could have worked here, but I wanted a gloomier, early winter morning kind of feel. Thanks ME. After the build you just knocked out, I'm frickin' humbled to get this kinda praise from you. There's one guy on the blue team with a very... scared look on his face. I didn't get a good photo of it apparently.
  24. The curved extension on the black-roofed building is masterful. I'd love to get an inside peek at how you made that work so well. Looks like horizontal hinge plates but can't tell! Your urban scenes are some of my favorites, DG. I like to compare them to LV's evil Nocty ones for contrast sometimes. :P
