This is such a great build.

Yeah, I looked very closely at your build while doing this. I feel like Mitgardians generally like to keep it simple, so I mimiced you more than Gabe or Gideon! I was telling SarahJoy that she kind of hit on something when she proposed Ruadh, a totally peaceful community in the midst of all the turmoil Historica has suffered lately! Haha thanks. They aren't really supposed to be towels though. More like sheets of fabric samples to buy by the roll.

Awesome. Welcome back, Legonardo. Setting the bar high already!

Those are adorable. -
Cool beans.

That build was one I looked at doing research for this! Remains one of my all time favorite Kali builds and one of the most detailed Lego creations ever. So thanks immensely for your comment, Gabe.

I forgot about this challenge for a while. It's likely still being judged but is there a rough ETA on when we can expect a winner to be announced?

Should write a letter to the University of Petraea and find out!

Love this film. Good work!

Was wondering when I'd see some more Destiny stuff pop up. Now do it Minifig scale!

Oh no! If you build one, everyone will forget about my humble offering. :P Bunch of oil profiteers if you ask me. Thanks. Worked really hard on those curves. But hey, this is carved stone... I don't think even Kaliphlin has invented concrete yet!? A Mitgardian amipheatre is a long table full of drunken louts warmed by a gigantic fire and fed by animals most folk wouldn't be brave enough to look at let alone eat. Ruadhi are like the friendliest people in Historica outside of the Black Spire. Thanks, SK! I worked hard for those curves, man. It was very tough to find anything similar to what I was trying to do out there on Flickr. I even tried Google Image! After about 2 hours I felt like I couldn't figure it out myself so I scrapped all the trial runs and tried to find an example somewhere. After an hour of that, I started from scratch using a version of one of the ideas (hinges and wing plates) and it somehow came together.

Great designs for different crops. Should serve as an example for other farm-builders.

Awesome, SK. I like that this throne room feels entirely Mitgardian, right down to the humble chair. Mitgardians are not ostentious folk!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Congrats, MK. -
The hair is from the Lego Disney Princess series. It's Merida from Brave's hair. My daughter has the set so I borrow hair from time to time. :P I used this guard specifically because of DM's builds for Ruadh, in which Mpya Stedor troops are protecting the town temporarily. Ruadh will eventually have its own guards, but for now there are 1 or 2 troops still around.

Book II Challenge III Dwarven Affairs

Yeah, I think we should wait to really get into ideas until the sides are populated. -

Right on. Once the lists are up, we'll get cooking. -

All your ideas will be dashed by the supremacy of the dwarves. Also, and this may be nitpicking since Ecc was probably riffing on Tolkien but... men aren't a race. We should really be saying "Humans" to represent humans. -

Naturally. Mostly people agree to tell a joint story through builds. Sort of what we do on GoH anyway, but more organized and focused. So for example, NiceMarmot, Alfadas, and I are collaborating. We share our ideas and plans via PM and construct a story and a series of builds that need to be done to tell that story. We break up the actual building along whatever lines (many ways to do that). Then we build and present in a narratively coherent manner. For further example, see Ecc and Kabel's builds for the recent Challenge. Each of them was responsible for distinct parts of the story and therefore distinct builds. -

I'm willing to work with anyone who chose Dwarves' side for collaborative builds in theory. What I'd like to do is see if a few people are interested in creating a joint storyline for this challenge and then get something rolling. Collaboration can be hard though, so no pressure to anyone! Just something I haven't done yet that I might like to try. -
Incredible work.
