  1. Maybe they voted poor as in they are too poor to afford it? Hahaha
  2. That one transparent sticker on the reactor window? Ugh! Fingerprints all over it. That was one piece that should have been printed.
  3. I'd definitely get a museum or hospital or post office. A university/college has a rather large footprint, I'd be curious to see one done and then be first in line to get it. My fingers are crossed for a bank as a modular very soon. Seems overdue. A Nightclub, Arcade or Jewelers would also be picks of mine. Any Octan related building would be a dream come true for me. I'd die of anticipation just on the news alone. I'd love for modular industrials but I'm sure that will never happen. Oh oh oh! Also a Library.
  4. Xayir, I will upload the latest LDD tonight. It should be existing parts friendly. The final product is still pretty fragile but only slightly more than the SSP Dropship that just came in. I was disappointed I couldn't match the color scheme from movie, but this was as close as my creativity would allow. Thanks for the interest, And here it is. octanshipmoebiusver.lxf The new rear doors require a little bit of finesse, I designed it according to the video game but there was a collision error that made me improvise to a structurally less sound composition. Final model will lean slightly to the rear.
  5. Truly a review worthy of this cornerstone set. Only thing that impresses me more than the spaceship was the review itself. So much in-depth coverage I would have slapped a spoiler alert on it for all those anticipating the purchase. However I must approve the set and review both for inter(net)stellar travel! Those Space-Octan stickers, I could find many a use for. Counting down the days now to when I expect it at my local Lego Outlet.
  6. Excellent choice. I've wanted to expand my 3661 as well. I like the desk arrangement and how you got rid of the skylight, I particularly thought the skylight was ridiculous in the original version. Any chance for a LDD file?
  7. Hi everyone, 9 weeks later, I finally have a physical model up. Some afterthoughts, Model is fragile, heavy and features an expensive part count even for the smaller video game version. Now it is not so surprising that Lego did not select this to be made into an actual set. Had to provide my own solutions for the headlamps and tubing between the cabin and cargo hold, amongst other things. Size comparison to another common Octan vehicle 60016. Overall I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. And I wasn't calling it Project Octanship Octanship Octanship without a good reason.
  8. This has to be the coolest idea I've seen yet. That building is extravagant even in its ruined stage. Now I want to see all the existing modulars in abandoned form! People please make this happen. I'm too poor to do it myself
  9. As a Red Alert fan myself, I approve of this accurate rendition of the Allied IFV. That would be even more awesome to see all the variants. Are you doing any other Red Alert units as well?
  10. I'm still up in the air in regards to the construction mech. Chances are I'll see it fully built on display at the Lego store when it comes out and it will undoubtedly and decisively push me to get one. Meanwhile... Astrokitty intensifies.
  11. Thank you kind sir for making my day today.
  12. Wow I can't lie to you guys, I am indifferent to the actual sets but I am probably going to break the bank trying to get all the Ultra Agents minifigs. It's Agents and Alpha Team all over again for me.
  13. I'm glad there's so many of us out there that rescues these poor lonely clearance sets. I'm actually afraid to visit department stores and the like out of fear of all the sets I'd feel obligated to rescue sometimes. I love set 60016. I already own 2 but I continually resist the urge to get even more since I am an Octan fanatic. I can't imagine how many I'd purchase if I saw them on clearance. You did a great job making it more realistic. I use the flexible hose piece the exact same way on my fleet of 3180's.
  14. Long overdue for a Lego scene in post apocalyptic media. Everyone needs to know not even a zombie apoc will keep anyone from their Lego.
  15. Seconded. Extremely shortsighted. That manager clearly had no understanding of the value of repeat business. A very basic and valued business concept (especially on a customer willing to spend 600 on a visit). There is no way TLG officially sanctions such poor customer service.
  16. That is one exceptionally painful Lego store manager. She needs to be reminded she works at a TOY store for KIDS. Most toy stores I've been to (including Lego) nearly roll out the red carpet for you when you make a 600 dollar purchase. The Lego store employees here have been most generous to me. I guess I've gone there enough now to where many of them recognize me by face. They almost always throw in a polybag for me even if I haven't spent the required amount. The manager at this location however... I have some reservations about as well.
  17. I LOL'd at the "old man yells at cloud" article on Grandpa's newspaper tile.
  18. Dreaming in Modular

  19. That is an option I am considering but I am going to wait for the Secret Police Dropship to be released first. Then I will determine which theme gets color converted.
  20. Excellent excellent base! I too have often thought of merging my Secret Police and Space Police III into one force but the color schemes were too opposing. But the vehicles from both have such a similar theme to them! I like the layout with all the walkways but I would add more of those awesome cells! Lots of em! Can't have enough prisoners! Also too close to the dropship pad. Might encourage them to make a getaway! Unless that's what you want (wink wink). The guard towers look more like giant torch monuments to me for more of that oppressing authoritarian look. Either way they make a nice touch. Can't wait for the Secret Police dropship too. I want to buy multiple of them.
  21. Very interesting topic guys! I for one did not know there was a Lego "universe" to be made canon before the movie. Even now I find it hard to conclude if there still is anything "canon" even with the movie. I am with all the people who believe Lego will allow for whatever stretch of imagination your heart desires as i will accept no less than a universe that allows my Space Police with my town modulars or modern day vehicles with Castle or Aquazone with Pirates. However I am also with the people who agree Octan being neutral is more acceptable "canon" simply because they were never made the villain of any of the conflict type themes. Keep in mind they aren't exactly made the heroes anywhere either. Like the movie, my version of Octan stretches all Lego realms. Not evil but as neutral as I believe Lego first intended. Like the "Cargo" corporation which I wish they'd name.
  22. And the father of the decade award goes to...
  23. Thanks everyone! The purchasing stage is completed for the physical model. Just got to wait for the packages now. I'm not proud of how much this project is going to cost me though. That would prove really useful for me as well. I have Octan stickers ready but I would like mine to represent as close to the movie decals as possible. Unfortunately I have not seen any images of the truck in the movie and the version in the videogame is without logos.
  24. Added the LXF to original post for all you wonderful Eurobrickers. Please let me know if you develop better versions, I am still working on the physical build but the movie version is not being friendly!
  25. I guess it doesn't apply to City because I don't see conflict in Arctic. Unless polar bears count. Then add space polar bears for Ice Planet remake.
