  1. Yes I'll see if i can add the download to the post when I get home from work today. I can also send it to you directly if you want. I should have done that to begin with. Chances are you guys would do better at solving those issues than I did.
  2. This year's Arctic theme reboot would have been so much better if it was Ice Planet instead. I miss those orange visors.
  3. The moment I saw it in the movie, I knew I wanted to build one. Some way, some how, it would happen. Thanks to TheNerdyOne here at EB, I now have a shot. After a frame by frame analysis of the Octan delivery ship portion of people's Youtube videos of the TLM video game, I can safely say I have completed a very very close rendition of it in LDD. I did not have to get creative or improvise much. I'm still a novice at LDD so I encountered a couple things I couldn't represent entirely or accurately. (For anyone also building this ship/truck) The rear cylindrical section of the engines were a piece I could not identify. My theory is that they used a tire piece. The fence piece below the cargo hold is not visible due to the video game version using an illegal connection. The cargo hold walls were actually best represented with window sections painted white. The side headlamps are suspended due to the clip and slope right above it forming a collision. Horizontal clips were removed. I couldn't remove the top of the turntable plate used to create the ventilation ports visible on the sides. as well as inside the cargo hold. The elbow pipe sections between the cabin and cargo are not properly connected. I could not identify the piece they used. All that being considered, it was still a very fun build from deciphering what was mostly a blur in the gameplay videos. I do not own a copy of it yet. Now I'm off to the physical build, but I know it will look drastically different from the LDD version due to all the parts they used that simply don't exist. I tried to create a possible real version mockup to the right. Also added some lights and antenna because at the end of the day I thought it was still a truck. And here's the LXF download: octanshipmoviever.lxf Thanks everyone,
  4. Octanship! Octanship! Octanship!

  5. That is ALOT of angry kitty. I also support this motion
  6. Very nice, I'm gonna get started on deciphering the pieces but a lot of sections look ambiguous and really sped through. And I'm also a total novice. Regardless TheNerdyOne, you have my supreme gratitude, My Octan Corporation thanks you too should I succeed. I'll be sure to post pictures if it develops well.
  7. Thank you greatly for the information. I will be on the lookout for these instructions if noone posts them. I must build like 20 of these. And when the movie comes out I'll study if it can be improved upon.
  8. OMG no waaaayyyy! Thats the Octanship I want so badly. I must build it. I simply must. There is no question. With the hyperdrive. Even better if they made it into a set. Please Lego. Where did that image come from? How true is it to the movie version? (Hyperventilating intensifies, passes out shortly after writing this post, at work)
  9. Good things come from mattb! I am a fan of that refrigeration unit and rear ramp!
  10. I wouldn't mind a coffee truck in my layout too. I would mind a female barista named Larry though. Hahaha I was disappointed from the movie sets that the kabob stand wasn't going to be made into a set either.
  11. The construction of the Ecto 1 is astounding. I have only one question though. I have a poor sense of scale or size, do you think this will work well with all our other city vehicles? Seems large enough to the point where it is almost as wide as the giant Super Secret Police truck and the length of a city bus. Seems like neither are suitable for our Lego city streets. :(
  12. Thank you for instilling in me hope! I don't think I could survive a wait to August! It would be best if they released their higher priced sets as close as possible to the DVD/Bluray release anyway. It's easier to justify the pricetags when the movie fandom is still fresh. Come on May! Lets go already!
  13. Hmm I conclude in fact you are right. That seems to be the only occasion of a tanker truck with a station. My memory has fooled me greatly. However this current station seems a bit small to just be released as itself and a car. It definitely seems incomplete as it is. Maybe a wrecker will be included, which in that case may conflict with the current tow truck out right now. Or not since it is a rather massive one.
  14. It is possible since historically Lego gas station sets tend to come with a fuel tanker, they may not be releasing this one so they don't cut into the sales of set 60016. I get the idea that if consumers see two sets one with only a fuel truck and the other includes a entire station, they will tend to opt for the station despite a higher price package. They may be holding off on news of that possible set until 60016 is retired. Which seems to be very soon according to Lego shop at home. I absolutely love your modular gas station, Do you have any pics that show if it works well with the other existing modulars?
  15. It's not exactly portrayed positively in the movie. And certainly not viewed upon positively in the Lego community.
  16. No they like Chima or something action themed. Only solution: Chima gas station. Hahaha
  17. Yes! That iron gate, always wonderful touch in a modular setting (especially the way it's used in Parisian). Seconded. Almost seems like a hard requirement for modulars now. Kind of an aside note, anyone think the Ghostbusters building in Cuusoo will be modular friendly? Cause it would feel right in place with this "unhaunted" house as Bregir suggested.
  18. WHAT NOOOOOOOO! Movie RUINED!!! Just kidding I saw it already hahaha.
  19. Daaang. The fact that its missing the backside to the structure really gives it the appearance of a upcoming set. They need to get on it already! I'd probably buy three of them just to combine them into the size of a real gas station. :(
  20. I am loving this. Quite an original idea for a MOC. Would love to see the finished piece.
  21. Thank you for up to date feed of information. It brings me hope yet that maybe I will find a want for these arctic sets. Also Lego seems to really be stepping up the minifigure counts just like in some of the Lego Movie sets. I fear the price tag on the icebreaker now if it does include all that.
  22. I am pleasantly surprised to see the icebreaker ship so nicely filled in. No vast amounts of empty unexplainable space like the last coast guard ship. Curious to see what it looks like inside, perhaps crew quarters? Unfortunately as it is right now it's not enough for me to justify getting it but that could change based on the internal layout. Also there is some kind of mini arctic base sitting next to it? Anyone know if that Octan service station is an actual set? I think that's my real winner this round.
  23. Anyone think that space Octan truck is worth a set somehow? The one used by Batman and Benny to sneak into the tower. I think it's really neat.
  24. Oh no, the last coast guard boat for all its intents and purposes was perfectly fine, as much as I hate that hull piece. I just don't need another one in orange hahaha. Also man would I love a new gas station set.
  25. Yea I do understand. I don't think it would have to promote any industry. I mean it can still be neutral tone. Having a bank in a set doesn't make it represent or promote big banking which people also have negative stigmas about. But alas I guess "City" will be continually confined to police stations and fire brigades. I agree this arctic line isn't to suggest anything commercial operated. But imagination doesn't mean we have to stay away from things that look industrial or commercial. Just suggesting what if the icebreaker had a more epic construction or design such as a "drillship" instead of looking like another fire or coast guard vessel. I was not trying to imply it had to be commercial. I love Octan and all but for this arctic line they would clearly seem out of place. (And blatantly commercial).
