This set came out like in 2016. I don't think Lego was doing that yet. My Instructions (US) do not have numbered bags, but do have 4 sections. Something else you might want to consideris when building this: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-5236/Didumos/42056-porsche-911-gt3-rs-unofficial-errata/#details

How to slow down lego motors without gears
1963maniac replied to sam32986497's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What motor is "l motor"? -
Thank you! I was able to open it finally, but it already had an MPD extension on the file name. MLCAD recognised it as a txt file, said "open anyway?" Since nothing else was working, I went with it. It opened! Who knew? It seems the "txt" file extension was not visible (or apparent).

Hello and Welcome, welcome! If no one has said before, I'm gonna say it now: "Lego is not just for kids, it's a hobby for and by adults too!!" I've been lovin it and yes, playing with it for 60 years!!

When you go to: James to build another dome, Then " V2", then "Instructions": there is an MPD file there. That is an LDraw code list for instructions. How does a person get that code into MLCAD or LDview, LDcad, Stud.io? Copy/Paste doesn't work for MLCAD.

There are sveral links here. There is a link to LDRAW code on Brickshelf: https://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/timgould/Trains/10022mod/observationcar.mpd . There should be a way to create building instructions from it. It has two submodels. From my search, Tim Gould's MOC is also involved or at least he made the LDraw files. See: https://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=170074

This is a beauty!! Nice Job, especially the rudder! I would love to see how you built the system to steer the rudder.

DIY complete Lego 9V compatible railway
1963maniac replied to johnnytifosi's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Would you explain a bit more on what this is? Could you show an example of this or share a link. Where can it be bought, etc.? -
I now have part 2393 (cross block with two pins) so I can build this. Rebrickable explains the difference between these rwo parts, Long or short, 79194 & 25893: https://rebrickable.com/parts/79194/plate-round-1-x-1-with-hollow-stud-and-bar-on-underside-long-space/. I do have the long version part (79194) and find that a little longer wouldn't hurt. The 1L bar with towball, 67692, is too long but it's bar fits nice and tight into 79194. So, I think I'll just cut it to length... It works for me! It only costs $0.08.

Thanks for your previous answer. I have (the wrong part) 79194 that I put together with 67692, which probably makes the towball extend too long for this application?, true? The ball of the microphone has to be halfway into the pinhole? Is the shortness of the 25893 definitely required? Or (I can't tell) is it required for how the microphone fits into it?

Use "Rebrickable" to upload your sets and parts. Build some MOCs that will challenge you. Rebrickable will tell you what parts you don't have in the inventory. You will learn some techniques. "Bricklink" and Lego "Pick a Brick are what I use. If you don't have a lot of bricks, buy some sets. Rebrickable can suggest sets to buy. Buy the ones you like. If I don't know how to build a MOC, I try building it first digitally or simultaneously with plastic.

What part is used as a towball and does part # 25893 share the same pinhole? STEREO, That gear gearbox looks nice and compact, keep going with that idea. BTW, Philo has these parts for Studio: https://www.philohome.com/studio/packs.htm

Advice on rebuilding from bit of kits
1963maniac replied to jainser's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sounds like the loose parts are mixed together with multiple sets. Sometimes it's easier to have only the parts from the set sorted out and front of you. Taking time to elimate unessessary parts is usually a beneficial exercise. Get them organised. This way you only have to look through a smaller amout of bricks to find what is needed per step. -
I didn't know what a Chicago screw was either, at least not what it was called.
-
That's great! I like your rock cliff.
-
I haven't gone that far,... yet. You never know what you'll do til you have enough pressure.
-
Yes, I had that problem too. But, I just glued some Lego plates to those 3D parts to make them work.

Roller Coaster with Intertwined Synchronised Loops
1963maniac replied to Lasse D's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the second video! It's very helpful and informative. I still want to know more about the "power take off". I have always had trouble with a "jerky" chain lift. I wonder if the power take off system can pull the chain by itself.? -

I would very much like to know what is going on with your chain lift at about 18:20- 18:28! I'm seeing an axle driving the 40 tooth gear at the top. What is that mechanism doing? I'm not seeing all of it. I find it very interesting!
