  1. Cool microbuilding and introduction to your lands!
  2. Beautiful vignette Jakorin, great work! The architecture is nicely done and contrasts well with the wood flooring. The story and figs were a pleasure as well. I look forward to more from you!
  3. A very pretty build, the flower garden, pool and rounded walls work so well together and turn this into such a vivid and unique scene. I like the detailing to the surrounding desert, the colors work very well together. Great work, you are certainly an asset to Kaliphlin!
  4. Late, but fashionably so, I would say! Interesting design, I can't believe there's an exosuit under there!
  5. Great choice of colors, they work very well together. The simple and worn-looking road looks great in this scene.
  6. Nice, looks like a great start to building up your settlement. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
  7. Very nice, a really sweet Kaliphlin build and my I dare say your best so far. The doors are very cool and the different building techniques used for the first and second story really work well together. I like the texturing of the surrounding sand too. I would suggest some more work to the roof, perhaps just a small a rise around the edge and tiles covering the rest. Otherwise, great job!
  8. Cool scene Garmadon! I like the colors and the FP works well enough I think.
  9. Great scene Thomas! The colors here are really nice, though that dark, craggy cave is one of my favorite parts. Nice work!
  10. Good topic! You are right, SNOTting rocks can give you some very realistic formations, and achieve some angles you wouldn't otherwise get - which is important if you want a lot of variety in your rockwork, like in these MOCs: SNOT rocks are easy this way. Often I don't even attach them to the rest of the MOC; I just kinda build them into place. Mix in some angled and studs up rocks, and you've got a realistic and detailed formation. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the random assortment of slopes in SNOT formation using stud bricks, looks to messy to me.
  11. Thanks man. I totally agree with your freebuild comment. I had pondered how I was going to do a redux of the refugee MOC and give it a Nocturnian angle. I thought the angle might end up too forced, though, so I went totally Mitgard on this, and just stuck in Nocturnus by name. One day, when I get a few tan pieces in my collection, maybe Anfauglir will be able to spend some time on the Kaliphlin beaches! Thanks Ecc! I agree, but it's back to building in Nocty now! Thanks a lot Hammerhand, I'm really glad you thought so! I appreciate it Z!
  12. Good going Josh, this is a nice build! That wall in particular is very striking, I really like what you did with those 1x1 clips. The tombs and mausoleum are nicely done as well.
  13. Thank you Jorrith, I'm honored I've provided a little inspiration! I think you're developing your own style, however, that looks really good. The abundant use of dark bley cheese slopes gives a really fractured, tortured look to your rockwork - perfect for Nocturnus! Let me say too that your English does the job perfectly (in fact, it amazes me how badly the average American speaks English - especially in Arkansas - compared to the non-native speakers on these forums ).
  14. Thanks Gunman! Thanks Carson, I enjoyed doing the border but part of me thinks I would have been better in another color. Thanks cesbrick! Thanks LV, yes the Spire may have lost some of its alliances and appears to be in a state of weakness, but it works to divide the peoples of Historica. The Nocturnians must stand together to resist Raavage, as must all of Historica. Thanks Wedge! Glad you liked it BrickCurve! Thanks Scaevola, glad you liked the improvements! Thanks! Thanks Josh! Haha, thanks Kayne! Yeah, I figured it wouldn't arouse too much contempt, but I don't feel like I see cross-guild builds too often so I wasn't sure. I'm really glad you're like the rockwork - believe me, it is much easier than I had originally thought it would be. There's just a few tricks here or there to make the SNOT and studs up sides level, but other than that it's not much trouble. I'm honored you find it interesting enough to try yourself, and if you would like any tips or some WIP photos of my rockwork I would be more than glad to oblige! Thank you very much Evan! Thanks for the critique Thomas! I can understand about the dangers of mixing light and dark bley rocks but in a land with such tortured geographical features as Mitgardia you would undoubtedly found various types of rocks adjacent to one another. What I was going for in this MOC was showing the light bley as the new (harder, if you will) rock while the dark bley was the old, worn out, eroded rock which had formed the path and left only a few above-ground rock structures. In any case, for future purposes I will try to not make the meetings between the two colors so jarring. As far as the color scheme goes, I respect your opinion but I must disagree, I rather like the olive green as a primary color (not just in this MOC, but in those by others I have seen). I tried adding some regular green to the build but it just looked too bright and vivid for this build. I thought the olive-dark green combo gave a nice subdued and almost dreary look to the build. Still, I very much appreciate the time you took to provide this feedback, and it certainly gives me a few things to think about on my next one! Thanks Alfadas! Haha, glad you liked it Kabel! That is a great idea with the white cheese slope, don't know why I didn't think of that. I add a few to this MOC when I get home just to see how it looks. To answer your question, well, they do it for glory, gold and, most importantly, the girls! There's no beards on our orc women over here! Oh, and let's not even get started on those Zugal belly-dancers... Besides, I thought you Mitgardians loved to prove your battlefield prowess and warrior culture, what better place to do so than that most fearsome of guilds, Nocturnus? Thanks V! Thanks Gideon, and I totally agree! Glad to know the community is cool with some cross-guild building! Thanks Jorrith! Oh yeah, I remember those, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed because of the WoN challenge. Actually, it was your great Nocturnus builds that got me interested in building a little something outside the guild. Thanks Behemoth, yeah I loaded up on those after buying a much of the Uruk army sets! Thanks Jakorin, glad you liked it!
  15. Oh my, this is one of the finest MOCs to grace these forums since I've been here... Absolutely stunning work as always my friend! I'm having a hard time deciding where to start on this one, everything is just incredible. The greebling on the stone portions of the house, the SNOT rocks, the roof ( ) the chimney and off-angle architectural designs are for sure incredible highlights, but all the small details really make this into a first-class build: the hog pen, the lovely telescope (one of my favorite parts of this build!), the ingenious cobbling around the house, the trans-green pond, the stair railings, and all the details around the wizard's table. My gosh, I would love to see this in person (the only way to really appreciate this build, I'm sure). One of favorite elements has to be the various trees decorating this build. I could literally go on and on and on about all the things I love, but I'm gonna go back to gawking at your pics on Flickr. Just fantastic job!
  16. Excellent work Narbilu, such an engrossing build and story! The village has so many details to appreciate and feels so realistic with the gardens, palisades and the various and intricate buildings. So much depth to this, it'll take a while to really appreciate all the details here. Nice work!
  17. Great build and color, this is top notch. Indeed, the photography is outstanding!
  18. More glory for Nocturnus... from Mitgardia! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=100231
  19. Brutal, but cool! I love the figs, a very cruel-looking bunch here and a perfect fit for Nocty! That standard is excellent too. Good work Jorrith!
  20. Thanks again guys, glad you're enjoying these builds and storyline! Haha, well thanks a lot Evan! It's the superb storytelling around here that drew me to GoH so I'm honored to add to that!
  21. Nice work Behemoth, cool little scene and the colors give a nice warmth to the build. I agree perhaps a little more detail to the walls would help, and I would definitely suggest using a brick built anvil. Not sure where that one is from but it looks a tad out of place. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more!
  22. Wonderful job as always SK, I love the detailed but elegant architecture and the story is very interesting. Excellent!
  23. Great job, that felled tree (and the wonderful stump it left behind) are definite highlights, as are those camouflaged forest men. Top notch work again V!
  24. A group of Mitgard warriors leave their lands to aid the rebel cause in Nocturnus. The treacherous mountain passes adjoining Mitgardia and Nocturnus have become two-way streets of sorts: refugees, fleeing the turmoil in Nocturnus, brave the passages in hopes of finding peace; while fighters from across Historica attempt to bypass the Kelra Labyrinths and bolster the anti-Black Spire forces. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- About this MOC: Another Mitgardia-esque freebuild using some of the advice I got from my Seeking Refuge in Mitgardia MOC. I'm not sure how the community feels about building between guilds, but I only have time to work on two or three projects at most, and I try to make them all GoH related. I don't mean to step on any Mitgardian toes with these builds, it's just that it can get a little bleak in Nocturnus (still the best guild)! Thanks for looking and feedback is of course welcomed!
  25. Thanks a ton Carson! Thanks Dan! Yeah the door adds a little continuity (unlike that candle stand, which jumps around in a couple of photos , I guess it fell over at one point and I put in back in the wrong spot) Thanks! I hope you get a chance to check the others out! Haha, thanks mccoyed! Some folks might call it longwinded-ness. In any case, it's the story telling around here that makes the GoH forums something really cool, IMO. Thanks BP! The scroll design is based off another I've seen in one of the Book I story builds, by Ecclesiastes if I remember correctly. Thanks Z! Thanks Infernum, I definitely have a little mayhem in mind for these guys! Thanks Hammerhand! Thanks! Thanks, glad you liked it Narbilu! Thanks Gunman, I enjoyed the smaller MOC a lot myself! Thanks LV, Raavage is a real megablocks, isn't he? Thanks! Glad you liked it dG! Thanks Nivremis! The scroll is from the Orthnac set (it's actually photographed upside down in the picture above to look different from the Orthnac scroll, not because I wasn't paying attention or something ). Thanks a lot Kayne! Thanks a lot cesbrick! I appreciate that Jorrith! Indeed, I doubt the Zugal will take these developments lightly! Thanks a lot Simon! Thanks Josh!
