  1. Great build, very unique and definitely a great fit for Kaliphlin. The curved structure is expertly done, and the colored glass accents work very well. There's a couple of spots on the rock formation which could use a little touch up I suppose, but for a quick build it came out really well. Nice idea using jumper plates as ground texture, and the whole scene has just the right amount of detail and color. Maybe a few decorations or a potion shelf inside the hut would have been nice, but otherwise this is a wonderful MOC. I totally look forward to your next one!
  2. Cool little scene and story Alfadas, look forward to the next phase!
  3. Hey wyvern-brother, pretty sweet build (great minds think alike, eh Hammerhead?)! This beast is of some seriously epic proportions. The overall shape is really nice, really gives a sinister serpentine look to this wyvern. The wings are great too, and the base with the treasure is a nice touch. Good job man!
  4. Nice little scene Tomsche! Good snow landscaping, and the penguin is spot-on!
  5. Not all of us Nocturnians work in black, I for one enjoy dark grey! LV and Gideon make a good point, start with your sigfig and then try to imagine where this fellow would call home, sleep, eat, shop, pillage, plunder, eviscerate... you know, that kind of stuff? A good first MOC would be to build your sig a small home or keep, test yourself on your building skills and see how much you can do with your collection of parts. Then just take it from there. Of course, like others said, take a look at what others have built - not just from Nocturnus, but all the guilds. You don't need huge builds to impress folks around here, and I'll think you find that even small, well composed and detailed builds receive some of the most praise around these parts.
  6. After all the castles, dungeons, fortresses and redoubts I've seen on this forum, its relieving (pun not intended) to see something as necessary as a bathroom in GoH! Great little build, I love the fountain and the restroom itself is a nice little design. Keep it up!
  7. Man, the Avalonian supply chain is so weak that they've restored to eating bats? Must be a result of that tremendous stomping Nocty gave you guys in the GNAR contest! (cool Ozzy sculpture, in any case)
  8. Nice work SK, great effect with the trans clear bricks as ice. My favorite part has to be the tail, awesome technique! Gives a great bulky feel to this dragon.
  9. Thanks SK and mrcp6d, glad you guys liked it! I will try to post a pic of this critter off the base and all spread out, but I have to admit I built this without even the slightest bit of "playability" in mind. That is, it's not very posable and is actually built to fit on the base just like it is. Also, the wings move very little and are solely meant to look folded in like above. I don't think it'll have the same effect pictured all spread out, but since you guys asked I will try to deliver! Thanks T!
  10. Oh my, my, oh hell yes! I'm thrilled to see this finally hit the forums dude (did it take you that long to build the interior scene?? ), spectacular work! Some epic work here man, really don't know where to start! I'm late to the party here and have to repeat what others said, that the timbering and dark red sections are simply gorgeous. Sinister ballista too and the gears are a fantastic touch. Man, I have to say you've out down yourself here, not just with this build but the equally engrossing story line. I love how complex and detailed the story is becoming, and the personal intrigue in itself makes me want more.
  11. Another awesome temple build Mike, I like the contrast between the darkness of Shadowmere and the the clean, pure look to the Aslanic Temple. Neat design too for the red-roofed building, looks very exotic and Far Eastern. Nice layout with the stairs and I think the trans tiles really work well as like lava glass, and they even give off a kinda shadowy vibe which works perfect in this scene! I have to admit I'm not sure why you have three baseplates stacked on top of one another (the blue is a little distracting) but the red does a good job at depicting the lava. I would suggest maybe a few smaller rock formations to help break up the pattern of the lava, but otherwise this is a really awesome and unique build!
  12. Pretty little scene, I love that booty!
  13. Wonderful presentation and figs! The commissioner of banking in particular is just plain awesome (and looks a lot like my bank man)!
  14. Hey Lord Dan, a diabolical little build and story! That orb room is quite the sinister hangout, great job with the decor (and awesome use of the scorpions on the standard!). Nice looking figs too, they look right at home in Nocturnus! The picture-within-an-orb effect is pretty cool and a neat way to hint at what you else you got in the works. I look forward to the continuation! Of course, with that said, your photography can be a little distracting and this great build is somewhat hampered by the photo quality. The second through fifth shots are great, could you not replicate those conditions for the overhead pics?
  15. Epic work DM! Awesome to see your efforts come together like this. I feel like I could spend a whole day gazing at this beauty. I love that market place and the whole architecture of the walls and towers is gorgeous.
  16. Behemoth, this might be something to leave to the more experienced members of the Guilds or, if anything, something you should take your time on since this banner will welcome old and new members alike to the forums (also, it's not a race). Your 10-minute rendition isn't really representative of what goes on around here, plus outer space (I'm guessing those are moons and a nebula in your banner?) just doesn't seem to fit well with the medieval/fantasy theme of GoH, IMO. Don't feel hurt by Mccoyed's criticism, he makes a strong argument.
  17. Awesome entry Infernum, definitely one of my favorites of the dragons and wyverns entered in this contest! Great coloration to this beast and the overall build looks very clean and organic. Great job with the eyes, those really stand out well! My only small criticism would be the pure white wings, they seem a little out of place with the rest of the build. The shape is great but maybe a tad more color variation would help them blend a little more. In any case, really nice work!
  18. Wonderful temple Mike, very clean and elegant looking! I've enjoyed reading your back story to these temples as well. One question though, is that a kind of idol or statue inside the temple? I would love to see a pic of that, looks very interesting.
  19. I've wondered why GoH did not have its own banner, but I look forward to seeing that change! I would love to see someone incorporate a little from all the guilds into the banner. I certainly do not have the talent to help with this one but I look forward to seeing the entries from those who do!
  20. Holy smokes, this build is awesome! There's so much detail and grandeur to appreciate in this build, but that balcony has to be my favorite part - just elegant. The side entrance to the mill and the cart are such amazing details which combine with everything else here for a really unique and great build. Nice job again Gunman!
  21. Woah, this looks like it's going to be epic! Tremendous job on the detail and parts usage, can't wait to see this in its entirety.
  22. Thanks again! Thanks a lot robuko! I wouldn't worry about seeing one of these in Kaliphlin, there's too much sand in the food! I want to get a pic of the body, especially since I really worked to get the right look. Unfortunately the wings ended up covering just about all of it, and it admittedly looks kinda goofy without wings. I'll post a pic from the rear later which might give a better idea of the body design.
  23. Another awesome MOC, SK, great work on this one! The house is tremendous, that chimney and the dark green plus timbering is a gorgeous combo. Very interesting technique for the roof, gives a great rustic vibe. The barn and surrounding scene is great (awesome use of binoculars for sheep heads, works very well). My only criticism would be the base, the perfect symmetry, straight lines and rounded edges doesn't seem to fit with the rest of this amazingly-life like scene.
  24. Super creative build Thomas, very unique! I love the details of this build, especially the coloration and head. The platform for the driver/passenger is nicely done as well.
  25. Awesome scene, very Nocturnus-ness! Interesting idea with the tree, and the ruins are top notch. Like Gunman said, the fig posing and action depicted in this build really look good. Nice job!
