Title of this GA is Arming the Resistance As the Desert King's victories grew, so too did his supporters. An increasing number of Kaliphlinites in High Council and Ulandus-controlled lands began rallying behind the Desert King's banner. Those who did not join his army vowed to advance his cause by other ways, including through subterfuge and internal resistance. Below, a group of Desert King troops unload weapons to a priest loyal to the Desert King. He has agreed to store the weapons in the local temple and distribute them to other supporters in this patch of High Council territory. ---------------------------- Phew, got this in 11:59 p.m. U.S. central time! Hope this still counts as a Sunday entry! Anyways, another guerilla build, this time against the High Council at B5. Somehow forgot to include the name of this build in the title. Ska, would you mind adding Arming the Resistance to the title? Thanks in advance and sorry for the trouble! Thanks for looking, feedback always appreciated!

[CG: L16 U vs. DK] Undermined the Scourge!
MassEditor replied to marcu22's topic in Guilds of Historica
Haha, great build and counter! Great desert landscaping and the trap door contraption certainly is a clever idea. I can imagine it was very frustrating to perfect though! -
Haha, the reward is you keeping your sanity in the face of the MOC-storm which you've created! Unless there's money or free LEGO involved, then I'll take the HC too! Seriously though, Garmadon had a good idea about the lieutenants gathering their sides' entries for the Warzones as well and taking turns posting them. One benefit there is if one's left out, you don't have to worry about adding it or getting the blame! I also think we should start a PM between the four of us (including Ska, if he wants) to coordinate the coordination.

Oh, this is very pretty. Fantastic detailing on that house, the wood cross and the dark tan accents in the stonework are truly awesome touches. The greenery is top notch as well, especially that wonderfully designed tree with those little plant leaves. I've never seen that technique before, and it looks quite lovely! Great work all around, look forward to seeing more from you!

[MOC] Challenging the Necromancer
MassEditor replied to Graham Gidman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Beautiful idea and execution, this is excellent work as usual from you! I love the juxtaposition of these two columns and the way their very nature shifts depending on the spirit who walks on them. A lot of power and beauty conveyed in this build, superb work!- 12 replies

[CG: E2, HC vs DK] Eastgate Blockade
MassEditor replied to Jakorin Swiftsword's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice build and counter! The landscaping here looks excellent. -
Superb entry, you've really outdone yourself with this beauty! The wall looks fantastic with the greebling and the slight curve, plus the landscaping is some of the best I've seen in this challenge. The ditch in front of the wall is particularly eye-catching with the skulls and creepers. Going lower, the cave is masterfully done as well, and the inclusion of an underground section of the wall is a great touch. The best entry yet, if I may say so, and my new favorite from you. Man, I can't wait to see you doing some building in Nocturnus!!

Northwall had been under siege for nearly two weeks before the Desert King's commanders gave the order for an all-out attack against the fortified city. The vanguard included a brigade of Nocturnian orcs trained in the tactics of siege warfare. Among their equipment and machines was a large battering ram, which was pushed right up to Northwall's front gate. Crossbowmen, protected within a testudo formation, kept the walls clear of Ulandian archers while the ram thundered against the door. After more than an hour the heavy wooden gate split and separated from its housing. Prepared for the breakthrough, the orcs rushed inside to meet the Ulandian defenders face-to-face. Mummy soldiers and other regular troops in the Desert King's command were quick to exploit the situation and followed closely behind. It became apparent the Ulandian 2nd Legion, nicknamed the Salamanders, refused to lose the city. With its walls breached, Northwall was quickly being overrun, yet the Salamanders stood their ground. When the Desert King's troops declared victory the next morning, not a single soldier of the 2nd Legion had been captured - the entire unit had fought to the last man. Despite being vastly outnumbered the Salamanders had inflicted terrible losses against the Desert King's army. Several entire Desert King companies were annihilated in the fighting. When the losses were finally counted, the day was marked as the bloodiest since the war began. A few other angles: Soldiers of the 2nd Legion brace Northwall's gate in an attempt to stop the Desert King's army: Historical annals would later note the heroism displayed by the 2nd Legion that day, and even the Desert King would pay his respects to the legendary unit. So too did those who fought against the Salamanders that day, and they erected a hasty monument to honor the dead from both sides. And the battering ram by itself: -------------------------------------- Hello! This is my entry for Warzone 7. I tried to go with a blend of Avalonian/Kaliphlin architecture here, hope this looks appropriate for the area. I'm sure this minichallenge is going to produce some sweet builds, I know I had fun with it! I should not I had originally built a larger, more proportionate gatehouse but it really threw off the build's composition so I scraped it. I liked that the area above the gate was shorter than the surrounding wall. Just imagine there's a big, ornate gatehouse right were the build stops! Anyways, thanks for looking, feedback always appreciated! If I win, I'd like B7 to be my next Warzone pick.

Sweet catapult! But you Ulandians once again show your contempt for Historica's lesser creatures. Holsteins are for milking, not towing your war toys around! Also, I'm guessing the cows also serve as this contraption's forward stabilizers?

A pretty and well composed build, great job! I like the ruined look of the fort, the tree growing out of the tower is a nice touch. The use of wedge plates to give the tower some texture is interesting. The wood accents are particularly good touch, as is the various vegetation. Certainly a nice break from the desert builds lately! Nice addition to Alva's storyline, I imagine unity is a top priority against those marauding ice foes! I also like how you're not bothered by mixing yellow/flesh figs in the same scene. I think I will do the same when representing elves as you have since the ones in my collection are solely flesh colored.

Sweet build CB, really like the updated classic look of this build. The red roof and its details are a particularly nice touch.

Superb color, techniques and composition as always my friend! Another stunning build, it has been such a joy watching you become one of the world's premier LEGO fantasy builders. Your builds are always such a treat and so enjoyable to view. I do have one disappointment, however: why is this not in GoH?!

MOC Erebor base on Hobbit the battle of five armies
MassEditor replied to Migalart's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is absolutely stunning - the incredible detail mixed with the epic size of this build, the photography, composition, presentation... everything is just top notch here! I love how you incorporated more detail on the backside of this build. What a pleasure to view, thank you so much for posting! I know it will take many views to fully appreciate this wonderful MOC! -
[WZ5:I10, Desert King] Sand Worm Encounter
MassEditor replied to Hammerhand's topic in Guilds of Historica
Brilliant work on this beast, Hammerhand! Love that mouth full of teeth. Great landscaping as well, I really like the half light bley/half tan mountain. Another excellent build for the DK! -
Sweet build Lord Dan, nice rockwork and the wooden accents are a great touch! Awesome looking figs too.
-
Great work Dr. Cogg, this was definitely one of my favorite entries in the challenge. Although I agree that the forced perspective could use some refining, I'm glad we get to see the micro city and all its details. The front gate area looks fantastic as does the pyramid itself. Wonderful work, one of my favorites from you for sure since this challenge started!
-
This is fantastic, both the critter and the micro city. I'm left nearly speechless when I see what you can do with such a limited amount of bricks, quite impressive! While I really enjoy the look of this dragon, the city steals the show for me. There's a tremendous amount of detail and perspective in that micro city, perfectly done! This will be a very hard build to counter.

I've been worried this would become an overwhelming task for one man alone. What do you think about designating "lieutenants" from each of the three sides to help you set up the Guerilla voting threads? They could get together the necessary builds/links from their sides and PM them to you each week so all you have to do is copy/paste them into a new topic. They could also double check the thread to make sure everyone from their side with an entry is in the list. Just an idea, and if you're interested, I'd be happy to take the DK side.

Thanks Adair and SK! I also thought the dark green/tan/dark bley worked well for the landscaping.

[CG:K15 - U vs. DK] Out - or in - witting Cyclops
MassEditor replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very unique, a clever idea indeed for a counter! Never seen the inside of a cyclops! Though I wonder if those Ulandians will be able to do much harm before those digestive enzymes do their work. -
Wonderful entry and presentation, the build is nicely done and photographed! The wall looks fantastic, especially the cracked section and the debris below it. Also, great work with the hot pitch and landscaping! Glad to see Ulandus has got some worthy reinforcements in its ranks!

[WZ6:B7, Ulandus] Mummies Aren't Good at Math
MassEditor replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great scene and entry, the wall looks superb. I've been looking forward to seeing entries for this minichallenge, considering the somewhat minimal size limit. I figured it would make for some tall builds, and this is a perfect example of going vertical for some extra detail. The rockwork looks good too but my favorite detail is that crossbow sticking out of the window slit. Nice touch!
