[OL - MarFB1] The Outrigger "Dove"
Kolonialbeamter replied to The Sarge's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely little creation. Quite a bit of detail on such a small vessel, I wish these small double clips were official parts. As the boat is all white, I'd prefered to see a sail of a different color. But that's just nitpicking Good job, Sarge! Dismissed! -
[SR Mar FB 3] – Athena’s Grace
Kolonialbeamter replied to Gulagurag's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Cute... I mean frightening vessel The colors work out well, the shape is nice, it has quite a bit of 'official set feeling' to it. I'm not really convinced by the use of the tan slopes for the bow, it seems a bit odd, but it might be difficult to find proper bricks for this part. Just stick to what Captain Genaro mentioned about the sails for future vessels. All in all a very fine ship. Oleon approves -
[SR Mar FB 4] – Wood Worker's Cottage
Kolonialbeamter replied to Gulagurag's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great details, love it! But as I'd say the same as everyone else, I'll cut right down to the essential: Another approval from Oleon -
Great co-op and splendid micro stuff, you guys and gals! The buildings are a bit too colorful, imo, but I really, really love the water in this one, Elostirion Micro builds ftw!

Tried your second method, and it's working! Thank you soooo much Back to rendering now. -
[Software] LDD2PovRay
Kolonialbeamter replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks, guys, and also great to see there's still some interest in POV-Ray as a rendering tool for LDD. I'd really be grateful if LDD2POV-Ray wouldn't be discontinued! As much as I appreciate Bluerender, POV-Ray is still the best in my eyes -
[OL- FB1] The Temple Courtyard
Kolonialbeamter replied to Captain Genaro's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Sorry to be late to the temple festivities. CG, this is a splendid rendition of the true face of religion celebrated in Oleon (and probably anywhere in Halos) . It's about life and traditional values, a heritage obliging all Oleanders to strive for peace, and cherrish all Gods' creations. It's never something sinister, never about death. Thank you for clearing this up The build itself is just lovely, the colors work out well, all is very neat. This basically 'screams' serenity- 18 replies

Northern hemisphere, if it works like our real world You can deduct this from here: first post, third paragraph below the map. (Le Bellan sits right in the tropic zone, Tiberia - situated just north of Le Bellan - not)

Whaletail... this is NSFW! Good job, depiction looks convincing, it seems the whale won't be harmed too badly, and I'm always a fan of 1x1 round plates for water. Take this from Oleon!

[OL FB4] The Aybarra Cotton Farm
Kolonialbeamter replied to robinnilsson403's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Good job, nice little plantation. Really like the 'picking process', and the cart is pretty cool. I suggest to even the base, and maybe to use some wedge plates to avoid sharp egdes and achieve more of a 'fade out' effect instead. Keep it up, Mr. Mayor, Sir! -
[OL - FB2] - Breshaun House
Kolonialbeamter replied to LegoEomer's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looks okay. It could use some color and pattern variations. For example, try having the window frames in a different color. Maybe add some offset to certain parts of the walls, and more details in general would make a huge difference. Also, try rendering your creations. It doesn't need much, check this topic on bluerender, a very easy to use rendering tool. Just get java 8 installed, and unzip the bluerender package to any location on your PC, load a .lxf file, and press start. It really is that simple, and it only takes some minutes - tops. -

The Empire of Oleon: Sign-up and Discussion

Mind... blown! Now, any conspiracy theories about the origins of 'Corrington' and 'Eslandola'? 'Sea Rats' is kind of self explaining -

*suppresses urge to cuddle* Instant like. Cuuuuuuute The pirate that'd try sinking her would have to be the most heartless bastard ever! Have an eye on the fuse on top of the gunpowder storage, dangerous place for an open flame. -

How did I keep missing to comment on this rascal build?! CB, this is top fun, one can almost hear the captain going 'Nope, nope, nope!' Great idea, very well executed Hope you'll get your revenge on Poseidon! Hot candidate for this month's hilarious award

[Software] LDD2PovRay
Kolonialbeamter replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I must be too stupid to use it then Just a recent sample (part in question is some flex hose): If I uncheck 'Don't generate includes' in LDD2PovRay, I get this: 'Unable to generate necessary includes. Part ID "16709" is not supported by the current brickset version.' And if I check the 'Don't generate includes' option, Pov-Ray reports a parse error: Cannot open include file ldd_60166.bin. -
[Software] LDD2PovRay
Kolonialbeamter replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Is anyone still using LDD2PovRay and Pov-Rayfor rendering .lxf files? I kind of 'missed' the transition to Bluerender, and now with the recent LDD-update, new parts aren't supported (yet?), and even those whose models have changed don't work any more Is it worth to wait for an update, or is there a workaround, or am I doing anything wrong? Sorry if the solution is obvious, I'm just really no crack regarding the 'technical' side of these rendering programs -
