[SR - March FB1] Haven Common House, Isla del Diablo
Kolonialbeamter replied to kaiju's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Pirates' Party Place Solid build. And all is most likely buildable, judging by the parts on first glance. Be careful with the bright light yellow (cool yellow in LDD) concerning tiles, though, as only 1x2 tiles offer sufficient quantity to work in real bricks. I suggest to cross check with bricklink reference for improved 'realism'. And you might want to try out rendering, it really improves presentation value. Good job, keep it up -

Lovely build and scene Great choice of colors, good action going on, and our 'French' heritage simply calls for bakeries The mugger must be a disguised Corrie Breshaun is well in need for commercial properties -

Should this be decided, then Oleon would agree to this commission (poor Sea-Rats, though). Vote would have to be unanimous, I assume Also, if this was to be allowed, Mike's 'Sulky Harlequin' would rather make a Class 5T than a 5F, 'but' a very fine one.- 897 replies

This is foremost a building community. So all decisions taken on that matter should reflect the strive for more and better MOCs. It's already much about grabbing DB over quality building, and it's only early in the game. Let's not speed things up to quickly Says the guy from the faction behind in score- 897 replies

A quick question regarding the 'property count' in settlements. So far it is 'one license - one property', right? Or is there (already) a differentiation in place taking different license/MOC sizes into account, so 'small = property count 1', 'medium = property count 2', and so on?

Why should one work, but not the other? From a logical perspective, that is. Wouldn't it be equally 'hard to follow' that a ship suddenly has a different trade/fighting value when applied with a higher license? We separate the physical MOC from the role it is allowed to play within the game (=license). We allow a larger ship to sail with a smaller license, even to 'upgrade' when possible, which means you have to buy a full new license and get back the old one, when done with the paperwork. So why not allowing to make use of a big license to the limit of ones ship MOC? I mean in 'reality', if the trader comes to the port authorities and says 'Hey, I'm entitled to go on a trade mission, I have this charter here granting me huge trade values (=big license), so yeah, let's get it on!' But the official responds that his ship was to small to leave port at all. And that he should try again once he has a bigger ship. Where's the logical sense? A different question is of course, if such a procedure should be allowed in the game. But from a logical perspective I don't see any trouble. Oh, and congrats on hauling in the riches, Bregir! Your MCRA build could be you mimicking Scrooge McDuck diving into his gold But doesn't it seem odd to anyone that so many ships of the 'Merry Lyric' convoy, among them a 'Class 2F', ended up with a 256DB haul? *X-Files theme starts playing, suspicion intensifies*

Well, good that it seems strange. Because you cannot do this, since the captured license has to 'fit' your ship MOC, so if your original ship was a Class 2, you cannot use a 'sister ship' with the captured Class 3 license What you can do is: - if it's your first ship, you'll always have this free license (this should go without saying), - what might work (someone important would have to confirm) is to 'underuse a license': license your ship using only the 'part' of that license that fits. It would work like 'underlicensing' a ship MOC, just the other way around. That means to attach the captured license to your ship, but only license it as a Class 2. Once you moc up a larger vessel, you are free to unlicense this Class 2 ship and make full use of the Class 3 license with you larger ship. Just to make sure, you cannot split up licenses (so no 'I captured a Class 3 license and split it up, entiteling me to use a Class 2 and a Class 1 vessel')

Yes, as a player you have to build it in order to use that license. It's 'MOC, or it didn't happen'. Not in need to be moced are only the first five faction owned warships (of which ships 4 and 5 will still have to be payed upkeep for each month of service) What would work (I think) is to attach a captured license to a 'sister ship in harbor'. That 'sister ship' isn't a new FB, though

How could I have overlooked this beauty? Really sorry, Elostirion I blame all of you, guys, you keep posting too much Now, I'm always a fan of simplicity in scenes, combined with quality minifig placing. This one is very lovely. If I were to try building such a scene digitally... well it'd be a true nightmare. Definitely approved -
