Hello from Denmark Henrik I have seen your MOCs around, great stuff Was it you that made Bryggen? I just saw a picture of the real thing in a news paper and thought of the Lego one

Ha ha Flego I like that! It sounds like a horrible mail order product. Or a secretion from the human body. Eitherway, not something you need:)

Welcome to eurobricks :) That sounds like an amazing find on craigslist! There are still sets from my childhood I dream about:)

Are you actually the real Napoleon, and this that a real picure of you? If you are it's really cool! -
I just saw you posted this on Mocpages, but I will just comment here Looks great, the outside is impressive, but I think the interior is my favorite part. Really nice work on the kitchen, and the furniture is great. I love the light blue sofa

I met a guy from Mattel who bought some LEGO for play testing
emilstorm replied to legoman19892's topic in Community
For the first time ever I was just on the megabucks website to check out those Moshi's. They do look adorable, like some sort of pokemon clones. So I guess you bought clone figures of a clone cartoon And I guess they already do Barbie bricks... I guess we just don't ever here about those clone brands over here in the Land of the Lego- 22 replies

Nice work, that balcony is awesome, and the stairs to the roof is a great idea.

I think their play test will show that Lego is pretty awesome! I doubt that even Mattel will be able to gain any of Lego's market at this point, even if they do Barbie bricks I don't think they will get a significant portion of the Friends people.- 22 replies

The shield has a Lego sticker, I think it was from the set with just a motorcycle from the mid 2000's. Yeah, i know what you mean, these guys need a weapons upgrade too to keep up with the bandits, but those public budgets...

I forgot to say, really nice roof I especially like how you handled the corners.

Very nice interior Poor little guy that has to clean up that mess...

Thank you, unfortunately there was noone left to report them missing, the entire police force mysteriously ended up in a bag in the basement in what was later referred to as "the Mini Dark Age Incident". Tragic story...

Found these guys when I was sorting some minifigs. All the vests and belts are Sidan, I believe, they are really old so I don't remember exactly. Their standard firearm is a BA M4, the breacher is equipped with a Sidan(?) Ram and a BA shotgun, and the point man has a Sidan(?) Ballistic Shield and a BA Pistol. Helmets are TLG skater helmet painted black, from before they made them in black A view from the back. Each member of the team has a BA Shock Grenade, stickers are TLG. The marksman with a BA PSG 1, 2 more SWAT officers, one with standard setup, one with a BA MGL for laying out some good old CS gas.

That is some great work! I love how you did the walls, just the right amount of accent stones The dungeons are a very nice detail, and the layout is great. And it just looks nice, you know

Unfortunately I don't think there is much to do about these resellers charging that much, except of course not buy there stuff. But there is always going to be enough people willing to buy 5 sets out of the 12 they have to make it wortwile for them. The only things Lego can do is either make more or be stricter with their maximum buy limits. But of course they want to sell there stuff, and I don't blame them, after all they are not just in business to make little kids smile. And of course the number of a set they produce is based on a market analysis, and doing a second production run to make a smaller number is necesarrily worth the production and logistic cost. I can't say many nice things about resellers speculating in buying up a stock to run prices up, but that is unfortunately a side effect of having a free market, and as long as a few people are willing to make there business sustainable, they will keep doing it.

It's an interesting question, I think it varies a bot geographically. Here in the Land of the Lego clone brands are rarely seen. I remember seeing some TNMT clone stuff in a video rental place back when the very first TMNT movie came out, and that is the only example I remember. My brother bought my nephew somi Cobi stuff online once, and my nephew always referred to it as the "military Lego", but I have never seen it in stores here. I think it's safe to say that at least in Denmark, "Lego" still means "Lego", not the other stuff.

It looks very good so far, I love the towers and the arcade at the back. And those statues are a nice touch, but I think it is some very advanced architecture for a medieval build, looks more like a renaissance castle :) very good though :)

Welcome to Eurobricks from a Danish neighbor :) your story sounds much like mine :) I love those early 90's sets too, it all went down hill after that for some years, but seems to be going in the right direction again :)
