I don't know if it's really essential, as that hub (which I call "SPIKE" for both 45678 and 51515) can already be programmed on a mobile device to be controlled by a gamepad.- 1,316 replies

42124 Off-Road Buggy
AVCampos replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The L and XL motors have different IDs, allowing the hub they're connected to distinguish between them and regulate voltage/current as required, right? This is a shot in the dark, but what if the performance is limited by the hub, and we'll get on the future a "pro" hub capable of handling the XL's full power? -
A subtractor mechanism means that, for going straight, only one motor provides power and the other is just dead weight. The advantages are that it is capable of going perfectly straight and the motor for turning can be less powerful than the one for going straight, neither of which is very significant for a remote-controlled model.

Isn't the 9397 at around this scale? Or perhaps a bit smaller. -

Maybe resetting the network settings turned location on? For some reason, Android requires you have location on to be able to find Bluetooth devices. -

The Ferrari's suspension is more advanced (independent in the rear), it has a fake cylinder engine, and is bigger with a more detailed body. Having said that, personally, the buggy is on my wishlist whereas the Ferrari isn't. -

Any "universal" Bluetooth controller should work. Amongst those with phone holders, I'd recommend those that stretch to fit the phone in the middle, rather than holding it above: the weight distribution will be much better. For tablets, the iPega 9023 appears to be quite popular. Since I use a phone instead, which as expected is smaller, I have an iPega 9055.- 1,316 replies

42122 Jeep Wrangler
AVCampos replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It does fit... on the upper deck. Maybe the lower deck too, if you remove the roof rack. https://www.newelementary.com/2020/12/lego-technic-review-42122-jeep-wrangler.html -

That reminds me of the "still a better love story than Twilight" meme. -

The Jeep grille is iconic (and even trademarked, if I'm not mistaken). Probably FCA vetoed all brick-built proposals the Technic team came up with. -

It must mean people with early access to it are doing what they should. -
Some of those functions (like the ride height adjustment, the removable bodywork, the built-in jack and the modular design) have already been implemented in the past, but admittedly not in the same model. Four-door cars aren't usually "cool" enough to make a set. For example, as well-done and full of functionality this is, do you think kids would pester their parents to get them one if they saw it on a shelf?
