Oops, i didn't read your earlier post where you suggested the pen. I actually thought those pens were completely moulded with no detachable elements so this is a surprise. Cheap plastic or not, imagine the fun that could be had with one of these... Darth Vader with a top hat, DV with Santa hat, Construction Worker DV, perhaps you could Vader-ise all the members of the Village People?

[LDD MOC] "Redemption" Nebulon-B escort frigate
Praiter Yed replied to L-DI-EGO's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is a beautiful looking creation and the way you have integrated the 'play' features is just great. Your micro-Falcon is also superb! I love the last shot of Luke & Leia looking out of the window... that moment gets me every time -
Perhaps the helmet is from this pen?

I love the idea of a minority group within a minority group. No doubt AFOMFs would look down upon 'normal' AFOLs with an element of disgust as they childishly build with their little plastic bricks, people who actually play with their minifigs should be regarded with equal disdain. In addition to collecting Minifigs I do other-stuff with Lego so sadly I would have to be excluded from this elite club ... Maybe I could give up building etc.?

Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

+1 for Minifig Suit Guy - thanks for a good trade. -
Wow - great use of yellow - gives it a kind of sturdy, construction vehicle feel although this is quite the opposite of a construction vehicle . There's just so many great details and excellent part usage throughout. It really does look like something that could have appeared out of Thunderbird 2's pods and the fact that it's chunky wheels steer at both the front and back adds to the 'Supermarionation' style. BTW apparently 'Thunderbirds Are Go!' is go.

My feeling is that if they're good, that's great, but if they're shit - I can just ignore them like I do with the Ewok movies, the Holiday Special and all the other SW Shite that's out there. Prequels and sequels are slightly harder to ignore - they may (or may not) dilute the greatness of the OT . EDIT: Just read that young Han Solo and Boba Fett movies are 'being discussed'.

What was the last movie you watched?
Praiter Yed replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yep, Stanley Kubrick made some fantastic movies, which leads me on to the fact that I watched The Shining on TV last night. I often forget how brilliant that film is - it drags you in whether you want to watch or not . -
What was the last movie you watched?
Praiter Yed replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I watched 'The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec'. I've been so keen to watch this that I recently bought it on blu-ray only for it to be shown on TV at the weekend . I quite enjoyed it but hoped for more - I'll most likely watch it again at some point and wouldn't mind seeing a sequel produced. -
It has been confirmed that in addition to Episodes VII, VIII & IX Disney will be producing some 'stand alone' Star Wars movies. While I'm both intrigued and worried to see what story they come up with for the sequels, my initial thoughts on this are much more positive. Maybe we'll actually get the Boba Fett movie that has been rumoured in the past.

Collectible Minifigures Trading Suggestion
Praiter Yed replied to Donut's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi Minifig Suit Guy, I'm afraid it would be difficult for us to trade at the moment due to you being a new member - you will be unable to use the PM system until you have at least 10 posts (I think) - and I'm sure neither of us wants to put our contact details up on the worldwide web for all to see . I would recommend that you have a read through the members guidelines here and perhaps also the guidelines for trading, here. If you like, you could also introduce yourself in this area. Join in the community, have fun, but don't just make random comments to up your post count, that would be frowned upon and likely to get you banned. Nobody is rushing to 'do business' with me at the moment so I'm sure that once you've become an upstanding and valuable member of the community I'll still have the figures available to trade Regards, Praiter Yed -
I bet Haley Joel Osment could have done better.

Thanks to Si-MOCs for organising/hosting this contest! There seems to be a massive amount of entries (I wonder if it will be a new EB record?), which leaves the unenviable task of organising the voting topic . On a personal note, I've thoroughly enjoyed working on my entries and although I doubt I stand the slightest chance of being placed, I feel that one of my builds is a personal best for me . Voting is going to be extremely difficult with all the amazing MOCs on show. Also thanks for my new title!

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that - Given by Si-MOCs no doubt due to my recent '2001: A Space Odyssey' obsession. It's nice to have a change from Finally flickr'd!

Thank you. Thanks. I'm not 100% happy with it - I don't like the gap between the dishes at the side, but apart from sanding down the studs on the 3x3 Radars and connecting them with a light sabre blade through the middle, I can't think of a way round it . It's built purely to be viewed from the front and the rear is a mess, but I'm considering rebuilding it as a stand alone MOC after the contest. I think a white one of these could be used for the top.

More info on X-Men: Days of Future Past here. Bryan Singer confirms that they will be dropping another F-bomb ! I'm no prude, if a show comes on TV with a warning of bad language, scenes of a sexual nature and graphic violence I generally think; "this sounds good", but when it comes to PG rated movies I want to be able to take my kids to watch them! Also plot details and a new picture from The Wolverine here.
