Wow, such a large variety of ace MOCs Personal favourites include LEM 1, Bat Wing and the Jeff Wayne Tripod - now I have Thunderchild as an earworm

Having missed out on decades of space themes during my dark-age I don't feel I can truly comment on the 'worst set ever'. But, as a huge fan of 'Classic' Space back in the late 70's and early 80's I recall looking at some sets and thinking that Lego were just rehashing older sets but making them bigger by adding an extra cockpit. But the one that really destroyed my love of Lego and possibly sent me hurtling into the dark-age was this mess of randomness.

EB Ninja Month: Ultimate Battle!
Praiter Yed replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
My entry for the 8x8 catagory... Lady Bloodbloom This beautiful master of disguise is a female Ninja (Kunoichi) specialising in assassination. While other ninjas may skulk in the dark Lady Bloodbloom stalks her prey hidden in plain-sight. Her weapon of choice is a hand-held fan tipped with a sharpened steel blade. It is said that wherever she walks the flowers turn red... Lady Bloodbloom on Flickr -
[MOC] "I fly in now" Episode VI last attack on the Death Star
Praiter Yed replied to markus1984's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yet another brilliant MOC Markus1984! Spotted this on flickr but I've only just noticed that the Falcon isn't the standard midi version - so great mod too. -

Sounds like he's the star of the show so I think it will be more than 'flashbacks'. Kind of makes sense for this to be set pre-Avengers then the need to include 'super-heroes' is reduced, but who knows?

I think I have a bit of a pattern developing here... Ninja Potato Head... -
Ordered 10212 UCS Imperial Shuttle with 20% discount from Amazon.it - that's €213 delivered (£170) - a reasonable price I think. Now I just hope it actually arrives

What was the last movie you watched?
Praiter Yed replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Watched Raiders of the Lost Ark on iMax. I really don't like paying cinema prices and to take myself and two 10 year olds cost me more than the Complete Indiana Jones Blu-Ray box set (if you factor in petrol and parking) but this was really worth it! The picture was good (most of the time) and the sound was fantastic, but seeing the looks on the kids faces during all scary bits was priceless. If you're a Raiders fan and like me you've never seen it on the big screen I'd recommend you watch it now before it finishes on Wednesday - this is probably a once in a lifetime chance to see Raiders on the big screen (unless it gets another re-release to celebrate the Total Immersion Holographic Video Cube (TIHViC) release in 2027)). -
What was the last movie you watched?
Praiter Yed replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
That is such a great film. I watched Inside Man last night, I've seen it before but had forgotten most of it - didn't even remember it was by Spike Lee. It's a really good heist movie with some sharp dialogue. Hopefully going to watch Raiders on iMax tomorrow -
Congratulations to the winners! And thanks to Pandora and any other EB staff involved in hosting this fun contest

I found it quite difficult to judge the size at first glance, I thought it must be fairly large but when I really looked at it and saw the pieces you had used I realised it must be relatively small. Brilliant part usage .

LDD 4.3.5 is out

This is good news, although it looks like I'll finally have to invest in a new OS -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Praiter Yed replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I also thought what he did was out of character but I decided it was down to travelling without a companion for a while (presumably long enough to have a new companion before coming back for the Ponds). Tennant got a bit darker towards the end and it's often been suggested that the Doctor needs a companion to reign in his arrogant/darker side. -
Bit late in the day but I've just noticed that minifigforlife.com are offering free shipping on orders placed today. It's always worth taking advantage of a free delivery but to be fair, minifigforlife sell some custom items at much more reasonable prices than other UK resellers anyway

I've seen your earlier versions previously on Brickshelf and not meaning to detract from the quality and skill of those builds, I have to say that this one is light year's ahead. How could you resist photographing this beauty for 5 years!? The greebling is amazing and it even looks great from underneath. Awesome is an overused word but this is the kind of MOC its use should be reserved for. On a personal note, I spent many hours drooling over your Sandcrawler back in the days when I was only showing early signs AFOLism, so you are partially responsible for my decline into Lego obsessive

[REVIEW]: 9509 Star Wars Advent Calendar
Praiter Yed replied to Ritz Brick's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review Ritz Brick which has convinced me not to buy this Advent Calendar IMHO last year's calendar had a much more desirable figure collection with the added bonus of a black astromech droid which would have set me back around £8 on eBay at the time. For the most part, the figures this year seem to have been available previously in battle packs (with the exception of some alternate faces which can be easily acquired) and the snow R2 and Santa Maul really don't interest me. I quite like the Power droid though, it is a bit big but I'll probably do my own copy. -

First Men in the Moon was on TV in the UK at the weekend (haven't seen that since I was a kid) so I imagine there's some Selenites in them there tunnels. Lovely rock-work and the canals/tracks on the ground look really good. As darkdragon said, the ship adds a perfect splash of colour.

The saccharine sweetness of Friends needs to be undermined and this does it brilliantly . Everything looks beautifully positioned in this scene, the MOC seems stripped down to just the right amount of detail and the cat is hilarious. Now I want my own signature tile too.
