  1. Damn! Missed this, didn't know they were there. Kids & I love the Manchester Science Museum too. Can't wait to see more pics. What was the reason behind the display?
  2. Maybe not one you could buy 'off-the-shelf' afterall. Clearly you're a bit of a loose cannon who doesn't play by the book! Still looks better than TLGs effort maybe they should try some 'illegal' moves, after-all rules are there to be broken. PS How come you changed you're avatar - was it causing too many questions?
  3. I'm not so well versed on the vehicles from the prequel trilogy / Clone Wars but judging by the reference material shown, I'd say you created an excellent representation. I do like some of the more detailed versions out-there but I'd much rather see a good honest studs-out simple Lego design. I'm guessing there's no "illegal" build techniques on this, so very much like something you could buy off-the-shelf (but better). Well done sir!
  4. Here's my entry for the LDD only contest... RELEASE YOUR MINIFIGS! Don't horde your minigfigs in boxes or plastic zip bags, set them free! Amaze your friends (or anyone who seems interested) with this Wall-Mounted Minifig Display Frame... Available in any colour you choose! Each case holds 16 minifigs (ideal to show-off your 'series' collections) and can be customised to match any theme you prefer. Or, simply select the 'classic white' version (pictured). lxf file Remember, always ask a responsible AFOL to drill your walls. EDIT: Fixed a couple of stray bricks in lxf file. Doh!
  5. Has anyone heard about this... http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/06/cloudy-directors-play-with-lego-exclusive.html "Mixing live action with animation" I can't imagine what that would be like... could be heading over to 'Movies you can't unsee' soon. Or a maybe great one for the kids?
  6. 565 was my first Lego set. I must have been about 6 when I got this - probably started my obsession with sci-fi Well, this and The Clangers. I reckon I've still got all the bricks (the Ladder's broken) - I should try to rebuild it.
  7. Here's my entry for the LDD & Real Bricks contest. I still think the best official Lego Speeder Bike is the first one (7128). I'm not keen on the new ones in Battle Of Endor (8038) - they bend you know!!? But the beauty of Lego is you can make your own... I've never done this before so 'here goes nothing'... There's some more pics (some incl. a Scout Trooper) & lxf file here. EDIT: Inserted live link.
  8. Wow. What more can anyone say, that truly is amazing. Are there any minifigs you don't have?
  9. Love it. I particularly like the little Space Logo :-)
  10. I'm torn between old and new SW sets; I prefer the flesh heads but I like the simplicity of design on the old torsos. I also like that with the old Lego sets there was the challenge of making something look as good as it possibly could within the limitations of the bricks available. At the same time I like the slickness and movie accuracy that has been added in recent years. But don't like the use of huge panels/pieces that complete massive areas of models without the need for actual building. I don't like stickers either. I'm clearly very fussy and a little indecisive.
  11. Absolutely spot on - they should have made a Beru with the Sandcrawler Set - not enough Lego SW female characters for my liking (my daughter would like a few more that's for sure). And Jek Porkins! He'd have to be holding a chicken leg.
  12. Removed
  13. Before reading this tutorial I got myself some 'LazerTran Waterslide Decal Paper for Inkjets' - It's just not working for me. Followed the instructions on pack exactly (making sure no air bubbles etc.). I've tried several times and when I put it on it looks great but after 24 hours it's curling up like a magic fish. Have I bought the wrong paper? Or does anybody have any advice on how to make this stuff stick?
  14. That answers my question perfectly, thanks. And for the record, I think I might be classed as nerd?
  15. Firstly I'd like to say what a great contest. I read about this on Bricklink and (to be honest) joined up purely to learn how to unlock the extra bricks in LDD. But now I'm actually considering entering. Hope this is not a stupid question & I haven't missed anything I should have read before asking, but... In the LDD + Real Bricks contest what if I want a specific minifig in my physical version eg Indiana Jones in a Tuxedo - is it acceptable to use a generic figure in LDD as a representation?
  16. Don't get me started on blue Tie-Fighters http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/style_emot...fault_angry.gif Although I did read that Tie Fighters were originally designed with blue elements which ended up getting lost during blue-screen filming. Sorry to go off subject, I'll use being a newbie as an excuse. Does this mean TLG will discontinue the motorised AT-AT in August? I still want to buy one for when my son is old enough to play with it (that's my excuse anyway).
  17. It's looking like an expensive year for me now! Got to get the new Slave I & Wampa Cave and now I have to have the AT-AT & Imperial Shuttle. Looks like a good selection of figures with these too. Despite the overall awesome-ness am I the only person who thinks the shuttle should be grey?
