  1. Cool! Make sure to go to Configuration -> Preferences -> Rendering and make sure that 'Use multiple files single call rendering' is selected for LDView. It makes rendering pages significantly faster. I haven't used LSynth in combination with LPub in quite a while (currently I use LDCad's built-in flexible parts editor) so I can't help you very much there. But they probably don't show in the PLI because they aren't LDraw parts (but just normal submodels). You could select 'treat as part' in LPub or (which I always use with LDCad's parts) use the LPub PLI substitute meta-command to substitute the flexible part with another part (usually the straight version of the flexible part) in the PLI.
  2. I suppose you use LDView as a renderer? Do the LSynth parts show up when you open the file in LDview? Also, LPub 4 is pretty old (and unstable every now and then). I recommend using LPub3D instead
  3. It just isn't possible on a desktop. The video outputs are different for the dedicated gpu and the integrated gpu and they aren't connected in any way. If you want to switch from gpu you'd have to plug the monitor cable directly in the motherboard outputs instead of in the dedicated gpu. And switch the gpu in the motherboard BIOS. You can't 'hot-swap' via software. And that assumes @KMPMOCS even has an integrated gpu at all, which is not confirmed
  4. I think there's a bit of miscommunication here. Choosing which gpu to run an application on is usually only available on laptops and it looks like @KMPMOCS isn't using a laptop so he can't choose a different gpu.
  5. That's pretty cool! My phone also has IR I imagine that in the final version a user can create a controller layout like in the sbrick app with a combination of sbricks and lego IR receivers?
  6. Yup, it's a problem with GTX 10xx cards. I've got one myself too. I believe you also need to turn of 'Outlines on bricks' to avoid the weird behavior.
  7. Hmm, it should work fine with advanced shading off. You could try reinstalling your gpu drivers. What gpu do you have?
  8. I think you're using an Nvidia gpu? See this topic. Very annoying indeed and so far there's no solution besides turning of advanced shading (or getting another gpu ).
  9. You might find some useful code snippets in this guide. Sadly the images of that guide are gone, but most of the content is still there. As far as lighting is concerned, I personally like 7.3 Custom lighting more than 7.6 Radiosity.
  10. I don't think that will ever happen. Even though Playstation controllers use Bluetooth as communication, the data it sends over Bluetooth is non-standard I believe, but don't quote me on that. However I have no doubt that if Lego would release a Bluetooth system, there will be people out there creating their own apps so that you can use controllers such as the Playstation. Same thing happened with SBrick.
  11. You mean the download for Blueprint? I'm not sure why you received warnings. The download seems to work fine and pretty much all anti-virus systems deem it safe.
  12. It actually sounds like a cool 'little' project; creating a program that takes the LDraw output from LSculpt and transforms it in a somewhat buildable model. Too bad I'm a bit very busy at the moment.
  13. Well, I have suspicion, but I think it's better to not share it. I know that might sound rather sensationalist or something, but that's not my point. I think he got his reasons, but I just don't want to start a whole discussion about that here (especially since it's just a suspicion). I leave it up to him. Let's keep it to discussing the MOC here
  14. I have a parts list. However, I'd rather not share it publicly, Sheo chose to take everything offline and that's his decision. But, at the same time it's just a list of parts. I'll send you it via a PM
  15. I personally love LDCad, to get 'LDD style of operation' you have to turn brick-snapping on and switch the camera mode to SPN mode. Not all is the same as LDD though and the learning curve might be a bit steep for some. Another popular (and new) tool is Bricklink's Stud.io, but I personally haven't used it aside from a little bit of testing. Seemed to work quite well though, I just don't like some decisions they've made regarding the software/business, but that's a can of worms I'd rather not open here in this topic; that'll get off-topic way too fast Btw, you could try to submit a bug-report to Nvidia. I did that a while ago (for this problem), but I never heard anything back
  16. The creator (sheo) has (sadly) hidden it. Don't ask me why, I don't have an answer to that
  17. I don't quite see the need for this, as stud.io files are LDraw files in disguise. So... You should be able to just take any LDraw file and import it without any problems into stud.io. But, I don't really use stud.io myself, so maybe I'm missing something?
  18. One of the newer versions of LPub3D has a special feature to insert rotate symbols. Just right click on a step and then choose an option that looks something like 'add rotate symbol'.
  19. The thing that makes my mind immediately think 'that's a render!' instead of 'that's a photo!' are the gold pieces at the top of the head. I'm not sure why, but when I glance over the images those parts somehow stand out to me as less realistic.
  20. I think someone is just screwing something up at the server in general, not specifically related to LDD. All files located at http://cache.lego.com/downloads/ don't work. Take a look.
  21. That looks great! Everything looks super realistic; the scratches and imperfections on the parts, the reflections on both hard parts and softer parts, the stickers etc. etc. Love your work! Really want to give rendering something myself using your scripts a shot again. I got a new 8-core cpu yesterday and rendering something seems like the perfect test
  22. Well... Do they ever stop with those damn exclusives over there at Lego? Why so many!?
  23. There's either a bug in Nvidia's driver for GTX 10xx cards or there's a bug in LDD (I personally think it's the former, but I could be wrong). In any case, you can't use advanced shading and brick outlines on GTX 10xx cards. There's a topic about it here.
  24. Well, I suppose they can be added to my Google Drive (which I partly linked above). I rather don't make a public edit link (for obvious reasons), so if you want you can PM me your gmail account and I can add you to the folder with write access
  25. That's cool! The shop I had in mind will certainly go through the colors, but also edit the file to make it 'cutable' (if that's a word) because he can pre-cut the stickers. But again, I hope he's not gonna charge and exorbitant price (and the more people willing to 'sign up' for this the lower the per person costs will be). But, as I said above I'm all for sharing this stuff so if you (and your coworker) don't mind we can share the vector files so if it ends up being more than I'm personally willing to spend, at least anyone can still print whereever they like.
