I'm looking for someone with the SDCC BrickHeadz
legolijntje replied to legolijntje's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm looking for people interested in (high quality) sticker sheets for the printed parts in the SDCC Brickheadz. For more information, send me a PM. The more people the better -
Oh man, that Italian Villa. The memories... My father had it as a child and when I got his old tub of Lego it was one of my favorite models to build when I was young.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
legolijntje replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, @Raskolnikov is the expert here, but I believe he said somewhere here on the forums or on another website that you can move the model if you grab it at the stands and are careful. But you gotta ask him to confirm that -

According to the software, the model is 95.5 cm long. I don't know how accurate that is, but sounds pretty accurate. The stands are removable, but the back stand can be a bit of work I believe. The front stand is attached using a few technic pins with bush. You take off the top panel, pull out the pins and voila. That's a few seconds of work. The back stand is attached using a pair of Technic axles. On its own it's also easily removable. But... to be able to access the axles, you need to remove the bottom panels, and the bottom panels (unlike the top panels) aren't really designed to be easily removable... I mean, the bottom panels are attached with a bunch of Technic pins with bush, that's not the difficult part. The difficult part is accessing those pins. You'll understand if you view the YouTube video linked in the instructions book 3 on page 263 -
Modular Starfighter [LDD MOC]
legolijntje replied to vynsane's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I went into this topic ready to notify yet another user that reviving age old topics without a good reason is frowned upon here on Eurobricks. But... I suppose you do have a good reason. Not sure if many people here will remember this topic, but feel free to post them here. I think keeping it in this topic instead of creating a new one would keep it more organized. Keep in mind that Vynsane doesn't seem to be an active user anymore. -

Maybe a poor choice of words from my side. They're complete invisible... -
I don't either (well, only for ease of installation I guess). Especially since the previous incarnation of LPub (LPub4) did not use a seperate library if I remember correctly. I vaguely remember that Travis once explained on the LDraw forums why he uses a separate library for the PLI, but I couldn't find it.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
legolijntje replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
FYI: version 1.1 apparently contained a few wrong images spread through the various books. The problem was that LPub saves the images of the steps so it doesn't have to regenerate unless the model changes. However, the various books apparently produce the same image name for a few steps so LPub thought it already generated those images while in reality it was actually using images from a different book. This (alongside some other problems and changes) will be fixed in an upcoming version. One noteworthy change that isn't mentioned here already (like the 36 tiles -> grilles) is the fact that we changed 2 2x2 turntables from LBG to black; LBG version is apparently crazy expensive and it doesn't necessarily have to be LBG. I hope that people who have already bought an LBG version don't feel scammed You will receive the new version later today or tomorrow. As for parts lists per book: I'll take a look at it, but it's not at the top of my priority list at the moment. Probably later this week. -
Lego and Poliigon

I have a bunch of those parts. If you ever want some pictures or measurements or anything, feel free to shoot a PM -
That's of course the safest option. Complete.zip is probably the same as your LDraw installation, but lpub3dldrawunf.zip could very well be different than your main LDraw library. You could either zip your version or download a new zip with all unofficial parts from the LDraw website.

ISD Aggressor (Star Destroyer MOC w interior and instructions)
legolijntje replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well, got some news for you (again). I was confusing two things earlier. You don't have to remove a 2x4 tile in favor of a 2x2 tile and a 2x2 corner tile. You can just remove a 1x2 tile and be done with it. -

There are 8 in total. But the size differs a lot (the largest one is 345 pages and the smallest one is 16 pages). A parts list per book is possible I think, but that requires a bit of work and they probably wouldn't be 100% correct. -

I hope you got a few more leftovers, because someone found two errors in the instructions that change the parts list. The parts list is not yet changed and the instructions aren't either, but in case anyone wants to know beforehand: The most frustrating one: 36 LBG 1x2 tiles actually need to be 36 LBG 1x2 grilles There's 1 LBG 1x1 plate too much in the parts list There's 1 LBG 2x4 tile which actually has to be a 2x2 tile + a 2x2 corner tile (or you could keep using the 2x4 tile and have a 1x1 plate + 1x1 tile as leftovers) The good news: the guy that found the errors was at book 5 I believe, so that means (fingers crossed) that book 1-4 are pretty much problem free -
Yeah, that's a bit of an annoying thing about LPub3D vs LPub4. LPub3D uses a separate library for the PLI. So when you update your main LDraw library, LPub3D still uses old parts. In LPub3D you can go to the top-toolbar -> Tools -> Refresh LDraw parts Then refresh both the official and unofficial parts. If that didn't work, or you're using any custom parts, go to: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\LPub3D Software\LPub3D\libraries And add your custom/missing parts in the appropriate zip files. Hope that helps

Maybe people who are buying/have bought the parts would like to know: the parts list changed slightly. Two LBG 1x1 round plates have been changed to two LBG 1x1 round plates with hole. There's a little change on page 45 of book 4, step 5: to make the model sturdier, you have to add two 6L bars going through the 1x1 round bricks and plate. I did add the bars in the source model, but I just forgot to add them to the instructions, so I'm pretty sure the 6L bars were already in the parts list, but I'll check this later to make sure EDIT: yup, parts list was already correct. When @Raskolnikov noticed the bars were missing, I noticed I forgot to swap the plates for plates with holes. Just FYI -
A parts list is available here. (And building instructions are here)

It sure looks like you're no stranger to big Star Wars models. -
4778 - Airplane Promotional Set - City Errors: Missing minifigure prints Missing stickers Download here. 4506 - Deep Sea Predators | Model A: Small Red Fish - Creator No errors. Download here. 4506 - Deep Sea Predators | Model B: Swordfish - Creator No errors. Download here. 4506 - Deep Sea Predators | Model C: Whale - Creator No errors. Download here. I think both programs should be able to use the same library yes. If you either configure LDCad to use Leocad's library or the other way around is up to you. No problem. At least you noticed it now and not 100 models later

I don't think the problem lies with LDCad but with the tools that transform an mpd to a flat ldr. I've tried two so far (MPDcenter and a Python script which I found on the LDraw forums and edited a bit). Hmm, I did not notice that. Something to think about I guess. Maybe I can alter the python script. Don't know much about matrix calculations though, so I'll have to take a very good look in that case Thanks for the help!

@SylvainLS I start to think there's really something wrong in your ldraw.xml regarding the above discussion about the partly failing import. I found a Python script online (that I had to slightly modify) that transforms an mpd file into an ldr file. It works much faster and cleaner than the above mentioned mpdcenter. However, the result .ldr file still resulted in the same wrong import. I then deleted everything except the two bottom panels to compare them, since the only place something is going wrong is in one of the bottom panels and te remove any of the 'noise' generated by clashing parts that LDD removes. And this is the result: It looks like on one side all the parts are missing a 90 degree rotation.

No offense, but OpenGL 3.2 is already like 8 years old I believe. I can perfectly understand that you don't wanna buy a new gpu just for that, but just keep in mind that chances are high you're gonna run into more compatibility issues as time goes on. What graphics card do you currently have? Anyway, about your question. For LDD files there's, like you said, Blueprint. I haven't used it myself, but from what I can see from the screenshots and the discussions I've read here in the forum it looks like a really great piece of software. For LDraw files, the most used instructions editor is LPub3D. But, that's LDraw based and not LDD based. You can export LDD to LDraw (this program works really well), but the export is not always guaranteed to be 100% error-free. Also note that you probably have to edit the LDraw file afterwards in an editor like LDCad. You see, LPub3D doesn't create the steps, callouts, submodels etc. It's just a tool to generate the images and create the layouts. You have to create all your steps, rotations, submodels etc. etc. yourself. I won't go into detail here, because I can go on paragraph by paragraph. But, I believe the same applies to blueprint (although maybe in a lesser extent). I've created a lot of instructions myself using LDcad + LPub3D, mostly for ~2000 piece Technic models. I've never timed it, but from begin (rebuilding a digital copy of the model) to end (final pdf) I think it takes at least about 100 hours. But, the amount of time it takes really depends on the type of model (Technic takes more time than simple bricks and plates), the size of the model, etc.
