  1. I could really recommend Rebrickable.com for the thing I think you're trying to do. You can enter all the sets you have (or import your set list from Brickset, if you have it there) and it shows you the parts your're missing for a lot MOCs and other sets.
  2. I thought this news might also be of interest to people that don't visit the LDraw forums: The LDraw.org Steering Committee has just announced that the receipient of this year's James Jessiman Memorial Award is Sergio Reano. They already decided to give it to Sergio before the news of his passing came in. More information and a little speech from Sergio's wife can be found here. Congratulations Sergio. Well deserved.
  3. Thanks for keeping your models up to date. Very nice!
  4. Well, I know that there are apps available to control the NXT (and Evo). I don't use my NXT a lot, but I tried it out it in the past and it worked quite nice. But, I didn't know that it would also be possible to do that with Glass and Wear. I have a LG G Watch R as smartwatch. It would be fun to be able to control NXT with a smartwatch, but I don't see a real use in it
  5. Thanks! I totally missed the shield and stick. I'll update the file. Oops... EDIT: also 7155.... I should've used the search function instead of just sorting A>Z
  6. 75029 - AAT - Star Wars Errors: The Droid is missing the gun Download here. 75080 - AAT - Star Wars Errors: Droids are missing the guns Jar-Jar's Head has no print Jar-Jar's body has no print Download here. Here's a comparison image between the three AAT models released by Lego. The smallest model is made by C3POwen. At the moment it's just a LDview screenshot, but I'd like to make a render of it this weekend. If I had an endless amount of time, I'd make all missing LDraw Star Wars parts and prints and make something like Blakbird's Technicopedia, but fully digital (since I don't have the models) and make a lot more of these comparison shots. I sadly don't have an endless amount of time, but I still enjoy making these things, even if it's not perfectly how I like to see it (click the image for a large version)
  7. I can share them in my onedrive if you like. I have 50gb in Onedrive and I don't see that getting full anytime soon.
  8. So, in theory I should also be able to control the chair using my Android Wear smartwatch? Is there an app or something for that or did you make something yourself?
  9. What are the differences (either positive or negative) of versions 6, 7 and 8 compared to 4, for which we created the instructions?
  10. Yes, it's true that POV-Ray is quite slow compared to modern alternatives such as MODO. But, don't forget that Virtual-Republic had a someting like a Dual-Xeon for a total of 24 cores or something like that. That also makes a difference Another tip for nxtstep101: transparant parts take a lot more rendering time than not-transparant parts, also something to keep in mind.
  11. Happy new year everyone! What's better to start a new year with than an index update? Statistics for last release Records added between: October 24, 2014 and January 1, 2015 Number of sets: 109 ...whereof duplicates: 17 ...whereof alternatives: 22 ...whereof incomplete: 0 ...whereof irregular: 0 New Themes added: 5 New contributors Wesley - 1 sets bercik - 5 sets Rbrt09090 - 4 sets Mario Pascucci - 3 sets Top contributors C3POwen - 33 sets Walter Kovacs - 31 sets Darats - 9 sets marco9999 - 5 sets juraj3579 - 5 sets bercik - 5 sets Rbrt09090 - 4 sets Philo - 4 sets legolijntje - 4 sets Thanks everyone, for your contributions!
  12. There's a new LDraw update, version 2014-02. For the people here that don't like to read, here's the page that sums up all the new parts. If you do like a little more information, the following text sums it up pretty well: Source It also includes my first parts
  13. You can set the path to your LDraw parts library by going to Prefs > LDraw > Search (library) paths. That's also what I mean, the software only helps you place the same part twice, but mirrored. It doesn's add any specific meta commands or anything like that. It will add two pure LDraw parts.
  14. That's not true. Nowdays, it's completely possible to stream whole games through your local network if you have a good router. So, streaming a computer screen with a 3d viewer should be fine.
  15. Well, it depends on how you look at it. Some people consider the A-Model to be the model that's on the front of the box. However, that creates problems when there are multiple models on the front or if people only create one or two models of a particular set. To avoid confusion, most people here just use the instructions and the order of the models in the instructions is the letter it receives. So the first model in the instructions is the A model, the second B etc. It may sounds unlogical at first, since you might be used to the A model being the main model. And, it doesn't help if some people in this topic use different approaches to this subject. Now that I think of it, this has never been made an "official" rule
  16. I don't fully understand what you mean, but here are two things you might consider: Try editing the grid to make it better for snot building There's a setting in MLcad that let's newly inserted parts use the previous part position data. You can turn that on or off and see if it makes things easier. But, as jamie75 also says, MLcad is not that user-friendly in nowadays standards. As jamie75 says, LDD is a lot easier. However, if you like to keep all the advantages of LDraw (like me), I can suggest to take a look at SR3D Builder. However, the developer sadly passed away a few months ago... It's still very usable, so you can give it a shot. Instead of SR3D Builder, you can also take a look at LDCad, which is also quite good. It takes some time to get used to, but it's far easier than MLcad. If you have any more questions regarding MLCad, LDD, SR3D Builder, LDcad or any other Lego software, you can always ask them in the this forum
  17. This topic is amazing. It's wonderful how everyone works on different parts of the model to make the whole model better and better. However, I can imagine that it's quite annoying for people who make instructions if the model changes everytime Maybe, the first post should include a list of all the different "modules" that have been created so far?
  18. Wow! Great work! Although not all the submissions are yours, most of them are. Great job!
  19. I don't know how to contact the family or how to contact someone who can contact the family. And, even then, maybe they don't know either where all the source files are located... I tried decompiling the .exe file, but it isn't very useful...
  20. Well, there must be something you're doing wrong. As far as I know, this option should be available in all major browsers. Anyway, you can also just copy the text you get from clicking on the link and then paste that in a plain text (.txt) file. And then, just rename .txt to .mpd.
  21. I find that a strange decision. The publisher is US based, but, as we all know, there's a way bigger interest in Technic in Europe than there is in the US. It's not a big problem, since both types are included, but the decision is still strange
  22. It's possible to insert images from Flickr, but since the Flickr redesign, the option is a bit muffled away. You can press the share button at the bottom right corner of the black area and choose the bbcode option. Then copy-paste the text. However, for me it's only possible to select the small square option, I don't know if you need to be logged in to see the other versions. You can also press the download button right next to the share button and then choose "view all sizes". Then, select the wanted size and right click on the image and choose something like "copy image location". The exact text depends on your OS, browser and language. Then, select the insert image button here on EB, under the smiley, and paste the link.
