  1. I have no idea... Just to make sure, you really move only one end of the tube and not the whole tube? (Btw, I assume you're trying to add a pneumatic tube?)
  2. The difference? Well, try rotating a few bricks in the editor using both and you'll notice the difference. It's quite difficult to explain SPN mode spins the camera around the model. Trackball mode rotates the model as if it's a trackball. If it says TBL, it's in TBL (trackball) mode, if it says SPN, it's in SPN (spin) mode. You can also change this setting in View > Rotation control from the top menu You can use . It doesn't explain everything and you need to use it a bit to get the hang of it, but LDcad's way of flexible parts is relativly easy and very powerful.Using hoses is... well, it's a little more work than in LDD. The results are better though. However, the LDCad way of adding hoses is a breeze compared to LSynth
  3. You can change the "positioning/rotating tool" using T, S, F (and hide it with P)
  4. @bublible, I just realized the following. You say you're coming from LDD. The default way of rotating a model in LDCad is not like LDD, if you set "TBL" to "SPN" in the compass window (the little axis window in the bottom-left) it's more like LDD. It might make the transition between LDD and LDCad easier I personally use the SPN mode anyway, because I just like it more than the trackball mode.
  5. Did you turn part-snapping on? At least, I can remember I had to turn it on (when I first used LDcad), because it was off by default. I'm not sure though... If it's indeed off by default, isn't it a good idea to turn it on by default, Roland? Also, I can recommend to turn Edge Anti-Aliassing on in Prefs > LDraw > Use AA on edges. It makes the view quite a bit better in my opinion
  6. The Snowspeeder has instructions, you can buy them on MocPlans.
  7. Nice work, D3K I really like the pneumatic-only render Any idea how much time it took to make all the tubes? And, I believe I've made a new LDCad fan There are a lot more (sometimes almost hidden) features in LDCad. I'm using it for months now and I'm still discovering new things. It might have to do with the lack of an extensive manual (although Roland is working on expanding the information/manual on his website and it's looking very good). Btw, I hope to be able to finally stop using MLcad completely when LDCad 1.5 arrives. It has a new source-editor ( ), like the list of parts and steps in MLcad, but better and newer. That was basicly the only main reason I was still using MLCad, for creating steps for instructions.
  8. About the UI, it takes some time getting used to, But, when you're used to it, it works quite well. I believe Roland (the author) is working on some UI improvements/changes in the 1.5 update. If you add a pneumatic tube and you choose the ".mpd submodel" option, it becomes a submodel, just like all other submodels. So, in the main model, you can move the hoses around, as you said. And yes, you can easily use them in instructions. I did the same with PF wires and flex axles in the Alfa Romeo instructions. You only need to add some LPub meta commands so it won't generate building steps for the flexible parts (and optionally you can use some LPub commands to show the submodel in the PLI as a part*). But, we're maybe getting a bit off topic here. There's an LDCad topic if you have more questions about LDCad. And, I believe Roland reads there as well. *What I mean with that is, for example the flex-axles in the Alfa Romeo. They are weirdly shaped submodels. I can let LPub ignore them or I can let LPub show them in the PLI. But, they would look still weridly shaped in the PLI. A few LPub commands can replace the submodel with another part in the PLI, so it looks like a straight flex axle in the PLI. You can do the same with PF motors, pneumatic tubes, etc etc. I have the feeling this is the worst explanation ever Btw, another tip: if you use LDCad's pneumatic cylinder template instead of the simple LDraw part, you can easily move the piston in and out of the cylinder. It makes your render a little better
  9. That's an amazing build. I'd really like one myself, to play bounce around with it. I don't ask this very often, but, any chance you're going to make some (basic) building instructions?
  10. Did you use LDCad? It's quite nice, isn't it?
  11. Very nice model. I really like it. It looks like a perfect combination of size and features Btw, if you ever decide to make an LDraw model, I'd love to (help) creating the pneumatic tubes. I've recently started to use LDcad and I'd like to see how its own flexible-parts system works with such an amount of tubes
  12. You do need to use buffer exchange to place some temporary parts (if I understand you correctly). Make sure that in the step that you want to retrieve the parts, that the retrieve command is the first thing, before the other parts in the step. Here's some more info about buffer exchange and ghosting (don't forget to click next page ).
  13. Nice model But the stand looks instable as hell
  14. Those patterned slope parts look a bit too rought in my opinion... Just wondering: how long have you been working on those part (except for the clean-up you're doing now)? It looks like quite a lot of work...
  15. I don't think Bricksafe is really ment to upload webpages... At least, it doesn't work for me... I believe Dropbox is able to "host" webpages. It works in Chrome, it doesn't work in Firefox
  16. The white one is Crowkiller's Phantasm Twin Turbo. The black car is Crowkiller's American Muscle Car. The yellow car is Jurgen Krooshoop's Sunbeam Corvette.
  17. To embed pictures from Dropbox, you need to make a share link (just like you did with the download files) and copy that link and put it into the post using the image button. BUT, you need to change the ?dl=0 to ?dl=1.
  18. Amazing work Darats! Personally, I don't render (anymore). I'd like to get into rendering again, but for some reason I keep postponing it. Well, maybe today...
  19. I read you have plans to maybe incorporate LDraw support too. I'd really like that. For a long time, LPub was the only piece of software that was able to create good instructions, but it isn't updated in a long time and it's starting to show its age. Lately though, it looks like there are more and more people starting their own version of an instructions creator for LDraw. In my opinion more is better, that way they can help each other, start making more features faster (competetion) or just more choice for users. If you're going to incorporate LDraw support, I was wondering if you might to use LDview as renderer for LDraw models (like LPub does)? I'm a LDraw user, I don't really use LDD, but I appreciate the fact that LDD users can now easily create instructions too. Amazing work
  20. That's huge! (although that's kinda expected from you now ) It looks great. I'm looking forward to the video. I'm wondering; doesn't it bend a lot under its own weight (especially with all watertanks filled)?
  21. They are all not very visible. There are four on the back wheel-arches (two per side). They hold the connectors that hold the flex-axle. And, there are four pins under the front-panels of the doors (two per side). It's up to you if you'd like them white or LBG
