  1. I like the studs-version more. It looks more like R2-D2, because it has more detail. The other one is just plain white.
  2. Another index update! Yippy! Thanks everyone! Statistics for last release Records added between: March 22, 2015 and April 18, 2015 Number of sets: 75 ...whereof duplicates: 22 ...whereof alternatives: 2 ...whereof incomplete: 0 ...whereof irregular: 0 New (sub)themes added: 7 New contributors (None) Top contributors Walter Kovacs - 39 sets Darats - 21 sets lego2lego - 5 sets Philo - 4 sets recifaliste - 3 sets ashir - 3 sets
  3. I agree with the Open Broadcaster Software. It works very nice, has a lot of options and is still quite user-friendly and easy to use.
  4. Darats, you (almost) made the full Architecture line in a couple of weeks. Nice work
  5. Nice. I was considering to try to remake some of Akiyuki's other models in LDraw, but ultimately decided not to. Simply because I have a few other projects going on already and I don't have an endless amount of free time
  6. Well, nowadays there are two main things: LDD, Lego Digital Designer. It's the official tool made by Lego. LDraw. LDraw is not a tool. It's a collection of parts, created and managed by the community. There are a lot of tools that use LDraw, including LeoCad. A few popular tools for creating models that use LDraw are MLCad (although it's quite outdated and it's slowly losing popularity), SR3D Builder (amazing tool, sadly the author passed away recently), BrickSmith (for Mac) and LDCad. Furthermore, there are all kinds of other programs that use LDraw, software to create instructions, to creat renders, manage parts and other things. So, comparing LDD and LDraw is a bit difficult, because it depens on which LDraw editor you use to build your model. However, these are the main general differences: LDraw has A LOT more parts than LDD. LDD is made by Lego and it includes most of the parts released from ~2006 and onwards. LDraw contains almost all parts, except for minifigure parts, they are also the most difficult to create... LDD is often regarded as the easiest to use editor out of the box. LDraw editors on the other hand need a little more time to be able to really use it effiently. LDraw editors have a lot more freedom than LDD. LDD is really strict on the connections you can make, only things that are 100% "legal" connections in real life are allowed. LDraw editors often don't care about what you do, even if you place parts through each other. Do note that LDD has a "snapping" feature. Bricks automaticly snap into place, so you don't have to allign them manually. Not all LDraw editors have that. Both LDD and LDraw are widely used. Also here in the forum, you can find a lot of people from both sides. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. I personally use LDraw 100% of the time nowadays, but in the past I used LDD a lot. If you want to try out LDraw, I would really recommend LDCad. It's in active development and I personally find it the most easiest to use LDraw editor (except for SR3D Builder). If you have any more questions, feel free to ask Btw, regarding instructions: LDD has an automated instructions generator. It works quite well for small to medium brick based models, but for larger models and Technic models, it's not always that good... You can also create instructions with LDraw, but that's a mostly manual process. I can go into detail about that, but I don't think that's necessary now
  7. Yes, I do. I can understand the frustration that it is now impossible to buy the extea features. But, to me it just doesn't feel very right to, share it with others...
  8. I just received the following announcement from LDraw.org: Not mentioned in the announcement but worth mentioning: some non-Lego parts are already uploaded to the LDraw Parts Tracker awaiting confirmation to be included in the official library. You can also read the announcement at LDraw.org.
  9. I think you can't... I don't exactly know how the registration is handled, but if it is just something local and not something that's managed on a license server or something (which I highly doubt), you might be able to use someone else's license. It's not very honest and fair though, but regarding the circumstance... I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud
  10. A little index update, mainly because I had to fix a few errors in the index. Statistics for last release Records added between: March 15, 2015 and March 22, 2015 Number of sets: 15 ...whereof duplicates: 6 ...whereof alternatives: 0 ...whereof incomplete: 0 ...whereof irregular: 0 New Themes added: 1 New contributors (None) Top contributors ashir - 5 sets Darats - 4 sets Philo - 3 sets recifaliste - 2 sets lego2lego - 1 sets
  11. Ah, that reminds me I had a ~70% finished LDraw model of the UCS Tumbler for a long, long time, but I just completely forgot about it
  12. Finally, an index update! We're near the 2000 model milestone. Thanks everyone for the contstant supply of new models. Statistics for last release Records added between: January 1, 2015 and March 15, 2015 Number of sets: 167 ...whereof duplicates: 38 ...whereof alternatives: 5 ...whereof incomplete: 0 ...whereof irregular: 0 New Themes added: 19 New contributors recifaliste - 33 sets jodawill - 1 sets Top contributors Walter Kovacs - 74 sets recifaliste - 33 sets Darats - 19 sets Philo - 15 sets legolijntje - 5 sets ashir - 5 sets Richie - 4 sets lego2lego - 4 sets C3POwen - 4 sets
  13. I like the inside of the car, I like the front, the back and the top. The thing I don't like about it that much are the sides of the car. But, nothing is perfect in this world. Very nice moc!
  14. 2064 - Airline Promotional Set - City Errors: Missing most minifig prints Missing stickers Download here 3178 - Seaplane - City Errors: Missing most minifig prints Missing stickers Download here 3181 - Passenger Plane - City Errors: Missing most minifig prints Missing stickers and prints Download here
  15. I have a BrickStock inventory file now. You can download it here. Please note that I haven't verified the inventory in any way. I doubt there will be big mistakes. A few things to note about the inventory: - I don't know if the rubber bands are the correct size, so keep that in mind. - While importing the LDraw file, I got an error message about a round plate 1x1 with an unknown color. I haven't figured out the problem, so there may be missing a 1x1 round plate. The model is quite "expensive" to build, especially because of the 19L flex axles and a few other relative rare parts. You can always try to build the car in another color if you want to save costs Now, I haven't finished the building instructions yet, but I got 99% of the model built and about 80% stepped. It might take another week or 2 to finish that, add LPub commands and maybe adding some buffer exchange magic.
  16. The rules state that different models (A model, B model etc.) need to be in seperate files. This makes it easier for people to download the model they need (and it's just more logical, since in real life you can only build one of those models at a time). So in this case you need to make three seperate files for the three buildings.
  17. Thanks for pointing it out. Those sets with same numbers are always very annoying... I don't really understand what you mean here? The other sets of that post (1561, 1562, 1563) are in the index.
  18. At the moment there is no parts list available. You can create a parts list from the LDD file, but I do have to warn that the LDD file is missing a few parts and that a few parts are changed in the final instructions that I'm working on. It is a very good start though, and it probably is correct for approx. 95%. I understand that people would like to start collecting parts for the model and I'll try to create a parts list as quickly as possible
  19. I can really recommend to not use LSynth, but use LDCad to generate the wires and other flexible parts. You have to look up a few videos on youtube and try it a bit out and if needed ask for help here on EB (it might be a bit weird at first), but when you get used to it it's 10000x better than LSynth. The only "drawback" is that the file(size) can get quite a bit bigger than with Lsynth, but the difference nowdays between 5mb or 15mb is nothing.
  20. Well, recifaliste, you are quite busy building all those digital models. Nice work!
  21. It's probably because the LDraw file is just the model and not made for instructions. LPub doesn't really create the instructions, it only generates the pages, the user must create all the steps, submodels, arrows etc. in a editor such as MLCad or LDCad. Only when the model contains steps LPub can generate the instructions. So, unless you want to spend hours and hours creating instructions for such a model (like I do), you just have to try to reproduce the model from the digital file (for example, by looking at it in LDview).
  22. Well, since the chassis is pretty much finished (some minor things to fix) I do have instructions for the gearbox I'm not gonna work on seperate instructions for the gearbox though, you just have to wait until the whole instructions are finished. I guess it'll take about two weeks. In the meantime you can always use the LDD file shared by Jeroen, but it's not the most easy model....
