Modular buildings will soon be turning 10 years old. Lego 10182 Cafe Corner, for instance, is from 2007. That's six years a go. The line may only be a few years old (or a bit older than that), but I believe it's already an all-time AFOL favorite. So, even if we AFOLS are supposed to have more money than kids, isn't it the time to re-release some of the older modular sets? They are just too expensive right now. You can find some of them on ebay for prices that go as far as a couple thousand "moneys" (choose your own preferences ). It's not that different in Lego-buy-sell-trade websites. And it's getting harder and more expensive to get those older sets. I know I miss a Cafe Corner in my Lego city (at least one, but I'd buy more of that set!), and a Market Street would be a fine addition too. Not to mention the Green Grocer... Or maybe three or five. ButI digress. My point is: Lego, please, please with sugar on top, think about a "Modular Legends" line or something along those lines... People want those old modular sets and they will buy it if you re-release them. We all ove the new modulars, that's for sure, and we can buy them now, but it's getting harder and harder to get the older ones. Help us with those!

Get the Emporium. Then the Town Hall, then the Palace Cinema. Don't ever let a set go by so close to retirement.

It's getting better and better! I like the changes. The trees are really making your layout come to life!

There are many, many fantastic MOCers and builders here in EB. They are some of the best and most inspirational Lego fans all around. Be it car designs, trucks or vehicles in general, be it ships, buildings, train or even city layouts, the moment you see their pics, you just have to leave what you are doing and put a couple of bricks together. Just have a look around the site. From those, I find Ballabreek 2013 one of the most enthusiastic projects of them all. It's not only a layout put together, but a city you feel it's really alive. Kudos to you, greg3. Thanks for sharing your city with us.

Brickville is just amazing! The pic looks like a SImCity screenshot! Very cool city!

Thanks a lot for the review. I reallly like the "chain armor" of the crownies! (From the one minifig with the leather belt) This is a very simple set, good for army building. Trees and chests are always welcome too, I guess.

Hi there and welcome! LDD is a very interesting way to do some Lego building and I wish I had more time to use it. But if you are just out of your Dark Ages, I have to say: Just go to the nearest store and buy the Lego set that you like best. Then go home and put it together! There's nothing like the smell, the touch, the feel, the joy of a new Lego set! As an alternative, check ebay and buy that one set that always put a shine on your eyes or the next best set you always wanted. If you don't feel like or don't want to spend a lot of money, start with the smaller sets than build up for the bigger ones. Used or mint, it doesn't matter -- there's nothing like a Lego set waiting for you! EDIT: Nice castle, by the way!

I was just wondering... What's the one set that really gives you the pain for NOT having bought it? Even if you bought it later on -- or especially if you never found the opportunity to buy it again --, what's that one set that really makes you not only angry with yourself, but completely frustrated for not having bought it when you could have? For me it's the Green Grocer. The first time I ever saw it was on a Lego store, and it was its final year around. I didn't buy it because the Grand Emporium had just been released and I didn't know the Green Grocer would not be around for long. I had the opportunity to buy it for a very good price on ebay, but I decided not to because the seller had not sent me all the bricks on another set I bought from him (even after some mail on the subject). From then on, I have never had the opportunity to get the Green Grocer for a good price again, and everytime I remember that one moment I had it in my hands it pains me and I get angry with myself and really, really frustrated. Not only because I had the opportunity to buy it for a fair price in a Lego store -- but I didn't do it! --, but also because it is my favourite modular

Good to know Oblivion is worth the shot. Please share your thoughts on Iron Man 3!

Wow, I got the best deals when buying Lego at WH Smith -- I'm truly amazed people wouldn't recommend it! I guess I was just lucky, then... To the OP: don't buy Lego at Hamleys -- it's overpriced. But the the store is well worth the trip! You feel like a child in there!

By all means you MUST visit a Lego Store. It's a really cool experience! The first one I ever been to was the Bluewater one, but it's just too far away from London, although if you like shopping centres it's worth the trip. The London Westfield is great too. I'd say it's my favourite, but I don't know all the other London Lego stores... Yet! But if you plan to BUY Lego, than you MUST visit WH Smith. The prices there are just MUCH better! When I enquired a Lego employee about that, she couldn't really say why WH Smith had such better prices. Anyway. If you are going to London, don't forget to visit Hamleys too! You can find some exclusive Lego sets there.

Welcome to Ameribricks.com - Major Changes Coming!
Artifex replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
I don't care much if the site is called Euro-, Ameri-, Asian- or WhateverBricks. But I do think that if the name should be changed to make it more appealing for a larger part of the community, it should go global, universal, not centered around this or that culture/people/region. -
I wish there was a Lego VW Beetle in one of the next sets

I can't seem to mark me there, so I live in Bagé, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
