The movement of the liebherr arm looks a little short I hope just in the pic. -
[MOC] Volvo L 350H wheel loader
jorgeopesi replied to mpj's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know I am crazy talking about wheel loaders and I apologize for it if I looks rude, for me the movement is the most important part. This one was made four years ago and as you can see you can get more travel with the same or even less pieces than now.- 10 replies

[MOC] Volvo L 350H wheel loader
jorgeopesi replied to mpj's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I do not like it, even forgetting that I am a purist the arm and the bucket had to have more travel, I know it is difficult to get but is the best part of doing wheel loaders, it is for me like a dumper without enough bed movement. All real wheel loaders can do this.- 10 replies

Volvo L350F farming-style
jorgeopesi replied to ozacek's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have my own point of view about this, if you put a V16 and front traction on a F40 most people would be scandalized because they know and love the car. With us happen the same with the heavy machinery, you can do it of course, but we do not quite understand it all. -
I liked a lot and I recogniced the music from the begining , I used the same in my Komatsu.

Volvo L350F farming-style
jorgeopesi replied to ozacek's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
For me the fun is to replicate mechanisms already contrasted in the best way possible but everything fits on Technic so OK, it is sure that in my way it will be more difficult that I achieve something new. -
Lego Motorized vs Manual
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I also think that this battle can be won for the motorized style due the new XL linear actuators because they will allow to build bigger MOCs where all the electric components can be putted easly, I have more than one pending MOC because I had not enough space respeting the scale. -

Lego Motorized vs Manual
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I understand you but when the pleasure is mostly in the building sometimes wires and motors everywhere are boring, I like to see gearboxes, manual steering or axles you have to turn, if I counted the time I play with my MOCs it would be no doubt less than an 1%100 of the total time. -
Lego Motorized vs Manual
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I agree with everything and I still do not understand why I have built so many motorized MOCs, I guess it is for having even less space to build which is a challenge for me... but everytime I go into the cables it is torture again and again... -
Lego Motorized vs Manual
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I know what you say . We should have an external unit to operate them without having to have them in the MOC, when I say external unit it means a motor with a battery connected . -
Almost all my MOCs are motorized but I always have felt admiration for the manual ones and in the end play with them is almost the same. Of course that some of them have to be motorized like trial trucks but I think that the machinery for example would be funny to play motorized or not, what do you think?, what are they advantages and disadvantages in your opinion?. I start first, manual ones would be cheaper and easier to scale well so you have a lot of them to choose in the other hand motorized ones are expensive and you have to find machines where you can put all the components respecting its scale which is always a big problem but in the end you are doing something that moves by itself... it is difficult to choose... I would like to start manual MOCs just to not to see more wires anymore...

I learned a lot from Lego and one important thing was to give up before starting, it is not a MOC that you should not have started but it will teach you limits for the next ones, we are all on that learning path and the good thing about these mocs is that you can always approve ideas for others. Looking back there is more than one MOC of mine that I detest and before it seemed unbeatable. I admit that my Lego sense told me that this MOC was impossible but we can always wait the best, with more space you will do awesome things.

Very interesting, I always wanted to do something similar about structural reinforcements but it was a lot of work even in my own languaje. I think it will be like a dictionary, impossible to finish but very useful.

[WIP] All terrain crane

I like the outriggers too is the best way to elevate a machine without big pistons. I like the upper view of the central part too.
