MOCs vs Official Sets
jorgeopesi replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe you understand nice MOC as a supercharged of pieces MOC. I always search functionality with less pieces and motors as I can but this type of MOCs don't usually attract attention. When you try to use less pieces and the aesthetic part comes I think why the hell I have to use more pieces now. -
MOCs vs Official Sets
jorgeopesi replied to nerdsforprez's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think that a good MOC always will be better beause all Lego sets are in some way limited, they usually use more pieces that the set really needs because the building process have to be clear for children, only for this every Lego set could be better but not better for a easy assemble . -
42110 - Land Rover Defender

I was talking of off road performance but I know they need to buy cars and there are not enough market for functional 4x4 cars, we are in the only for city off road cars age. -

Almost everything is already invented so why don't we do worst cars like all the other brands do, someday Lego will copy us. -

Good to see a torsion bar but not with such a fragile piece like that, not Technic not Model Team more money saved for me. -
Ouch!, then this MOC is even better that I thought.

I don't like a few parts but it is an awesome MOC, I do not ubnderstand the scale problem, the unimog tyres are the same height that yours.

Technic is losing its north. The Technic is for build this with 1500 or even less pieces, I do not need all the extra functions nor to play or to build but I would have to pay for if I wanted. I admit it is beatiful but Technic does not have to be it, it has to work, to see aesthetic Lego I already had all the other Lego. I will have almost all the new parts except the motors, I think the old ones still work perfectly for me. Maybe I am getting old but I still have fun more with the phisically parts of Lego than the electronics.

Caterpillar 990
jorgeopesi replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Again with it, at least I like the back part, strong, small and easy to build with all the power funtions in it so I can do a manual loader without change a lot the instrutions. With black frames and yellow bone pieces the MOC will be better, I do not have enough battery in the video but still works fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-Up4N_5g7k- 59 replies

Maybe because it adds weight without improving performance, it is a functional aesthetic detail IMO. -

Narrower wheels are always good news too for everyone.
