  1. Warming up to these sets more and more as I go. I am pretty sure that the princess (I assume that's what she is...) is indeed behind bars in the dragon fort, as we suspected. Interesting to note that the carriage ambush & gate sets are both 1-ups & opposite teams from the Kingdoms sets.
  2. Greetings from the shadows fellow Nocturnians... (I know I have been AWOL for at least 6 months, I just don't have the best setup for building MOCs much currently. But recently I "got the band back together" for a photo shoot of the main heroes (that lasted 1 photo) before retiring my customised minifigs from Historica for now at least. L to R: Drazgortu, Kargzaskzin, Arcanis I, Caza-Ul-Baqr, Cal-Un-Owen Good news, the new wave of castle sets coming out have black & red bad guys with a really cool looking evil wizard, perfect minifigs for Nocturnus - should go well as a standing army with the already suitable KKII bad guys I've been using.) Impressed with the recent return-to-form of Nocturnians putting men-in-tights Avaloniettes in their place. Question: are we allowed now to depict in MOCs the might of Nocturnus vs the marshmallow of Avalonia? When I was active earlier it was banned. Oh, and welcome to our recent new recruits. I will advise my minotaurs to allow you passage through the Zikka Sron approaches to the Kel'Ra labyrinths, and should you wish to enjoy the terrible hospitality of wildmen & orcs on your way between the Moruth swamps and Rakath mountains feel free to drop in at the dilapidated Na'Kra Uzk Bridge watchtower. It's awful.
  3. Okay, so we got a reuse of the line from Episode IV "...a presence I've not felt since..." but I was very surprised they didn't reuse "help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" despite even having the hologram projection. Curious. So, will we see red Mandalorians in Lego?
  4. I haven't seen the SW sets BARC Speeder w Sidecar or Mobile Heavy Cannon anywhere, must I assume that these are supposed to be Exclusive-To-Places-I-Can't-Get-To?
  5. * except the Barrel set of course. I just realised despite waiting for this availability I don't have anything left to buy! I placed an order with TRU (US) a month ago, 2.5 weeks postage time. The packaging inside the oversized boxes wasn't very protective, but all sets' boxes were in fair to good condition, a couple of creases but nothing disappointing. I wouldn't recommend for resellers (can't guarantee the quality), but for yourself/family or a gift I would. Was about to share some pics but just realised I haven't uploaded them...
  6. That's my position at the moment too.
  7. You will be disappointed.
  8. Be fair, they weren't unicorns. They were horses wearing horned battle helmets. The "baby dragons" on the dragon fortress were gargoyles. One appeared in that little box with the only wizard minifig (a set that wasn't exactly easy to get hold of), it's been argued that it could be a desk statue. As for that wizard, who says he practices magic? He might be more of a naturopath or chemist type conjurer. In my mind, there were no "fantasy" elements in Kingdoms.
  9. 2 posts above yours, you should be ashamed... tsk tsk.
  10. That Aussie price suggests a US price @$140-180. Most likely 150 considering it's SW & a TRU list price.
  11. Still not keen on the heraldry, but that's probably my only "complaint" if you want to call it that. All sets: sold. Let's be honest, these sets (particularly the castle) are hardly any different from the 1st wave of the much celebrated Kingdoms. Although I would prefer a continuation of the Kingdoms colours (dragon knight castle... ) this should mesh fairly well. The only thing KKI about it, really, is the heraldry, box art & that catapult. (It still reminds me of KKI, but doesn't resemble it very much at all.) It's nothing like KKII (thank The Maker) nor the 80s or 90s stuff, except perhaps the back tower of the castle reminding me a little of that Black Knights castle (the freaking awesome one from 1992 on the raised baseplate) where the ghost was hidden. Now that we're certain that the fantasy era dragon is back (slightly modified) I suppose I don't mind so much, as it won't be exactly the same as the 3 I already have. Hopefully. One thing to speculate: will there be any skeleton minifigs? I don't see any, and although their introduction in 1995(?) had me all over them, I've had just about enough for a while due to their overuse in recent years. (Fantasy era Castle & Ninjago didn't help...)
  12. Ah-ha, that's what that is. I was looking for a standard coloured Jango. A red & white Mandalorian would be a nice minifig variation, but to me it's just a nameless clone dressed up like death watch if he doesn't come in his colours. Santa Jango doesn't count as the long awaited new Jango minifig, TLG!
  13. I don't see a Jango. I see a young Boba.
  14. Well, I already thought this, but clearer pictures make it more evident that the ship looks pretty much as it does in the computer game, and the Rivendell & black gate sets look pretty much like they did in the bonus level. I think there's a good chance that Orthanc will be the same, and that is not a bad thing.
  15. Well, I didn't have the patience to wait for any of these sets to be released in Aus so I ordered what I could get toysrus.com to send to me (the green, orange & red sets - none of the blue) and they conveniently arrived last week while I was on holiday. Have to say I like them in general, but the droid minifigs don't do it for me, they seem too big next to the GS members. (They are okay on their own.) I figure that Lego companion droids should be at least a little bit smaller than the spacemen.
  16. Here we go. Ps'd green spaceman. (As per usual!)
  17. Yes, thanks, and the discussion is in the 2013 sets topic. (This one is for sets that were released last year. )
  18. Interesting (unusual) film, and nice rendition. The black plinth thing... that would have to be one of the easiest objects to build out of Lego, you captured it perfectly!
  19. This contest? (Doesn't have to be a MOC btw, just a SciFied avatar image) You post the image in this thread, and make it your avatar until the end of the month. That is all. Which reminds me, I still haven't entered yet.
  20. So colourful. Nice towers, nice structures, nice ships! (Even the golden condor made it out to Mars... )
  21. Not keen on that eagle. Other thing about preliminary Gandalf (besides the blonde hair) is that he is wearing no undies, just long white socks...
  22. Whoops, just spoiled the end of the 1950s movie version! Or was it fresh water?..
  23. Yes, the colours are really good here. A nice little scene, and good part usage.
  24. Nice representation, and the panels look great!
