LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
neoconagenda replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I keep going back to the rigging... There have been so many creative solutions that look better than phoning it in with the same rigging. Also the rings have noticeable gaps to accommodate the grille corners. I know I am being picky but its also not a cheap set... If this is someones MOC they have done a great job keeping it under wraps. If I had built this everyone would know! -

All of these teasers are killing me!!! On the bright side the 10179 is coming down!!! -
I finally did it. I am now the proud owner of a 10179. I made an offer of 1k and he countered at $1650. I countered at $1025 and explained how I had watched this set go up and I am now watching it go down. A day went by and my offer was accepted. I got the set with the box in great condition, the instructions are prime, and the sticker sheet is unused!!! I may still be over extended at 1k but at least I didn't pay north of 2k!!!

21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V (LEGO Ideas)

Agree on the price... I did a double take! -
Respect for your review talents!!! As far as the set goes it was a done deal for me when the leaks first came out. One of my favorites and definitely nothing wrong with revisiting a set and using different build techniques.

First off... The poor rendition of a Millennium Falcon... Pure genius. I am really at a loss for words. This set is beautifully crafted and will stand side by side to its sister ship to show the evolution of build techniques and the ever growing love of TLG to abuse SW fans with freaking stickers.

The LEGO Group takes civil actions against LEPIN
neoconagenda replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The price that a set goes for on eBay can be artificially inflated by shill bidding (bid history on 10179's is loaded with new and 0 feedback bidders) and that raises the bricklink value. For obvious reasons I am against KO's but some of the issue with demand for these KO sets is the artificially high price of the real thing. For over a year I watched eBay daily on listings for 10179's and the MO was the same almost every time. You have real people bidding up to $1200 or so and then the price vaults to around $2000 thanks to 0 feedback or new members. Another concern - Say I have a BL 10179 that currently has black masts, black levers, and a blank dish. Now for $150 I can obtain near perfect KO elements and sale it as the real thing. The dish will be an obvious fake but the mast and levers don't have Lego stamped on them to my knowledge. The transformers community went through this recently with the massive counterfeiting of figures. On whole they were obviously fake but the guns and accessories were spot on most of the time, and that's what gives value. A lot of people are going to buy these for the mast and levers and that is a problem for all of us unless there will be a way to tell them apart. I find anyone's lack of concern for this problem disturbing. -
The LEGO Group takes civil actions against LEPIN
neoconagenda replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If they have any success it will be because they have a legitimate manufacturing interest in China. That being said Lepin will ship a ton of sets in a year, destroy the market for legitimate rare parts, and then move the molds to another factory and call it Lopin and the process will begin again. -
The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
neoconagenda replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Any official release of the MF will not change the market too much. The only thing that is going to hurt the 10179 is the KO market getting close to perfection on key elements. I know that its a taboo topic but when the market gets flooded with replica gray masts and levers I think people will lose trust in these sets authenticity or just option out of a legitimate set. -

I meant a complete or almost complete re-release... A new MF with modern techniques would be welcome. -
The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
neoconagenda replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I predict a UCS set that is made from many different elements... But seriously as a collector it is extremely frustrating to see re-releases so I want something new. -
Of course there are the AFOL's like myself that are not keen on the design of a set as much as enjoying the building / completing experience. This is a poor situation for people that have a compulsory need to buy for the sake of buying. While I don't fall into the latter category, I will find it hard to pass on this set given that I somewhat have the means to afford it. At least with the previous "capitol" Technic sets there has been intrinsic value with the PF's or the quality Technic features. I know, as does TLG, that many AFOL's will buy this set for a ton of different reasons. Many will see it as a possible investment. Others will hold their nose due to the overwhelming smell of crap that we have been served. Crap that we of course chose to pay for... I really hope that the BWE soothes some of the sting from this let down.

This set has gone silly with the price... I picked it up years ago aftermarket and payed what I thought then to be too much. OUCH!!! -

[MOC] NEW UCS Nebulon B - Medical Frigate 'Redemption'
neoconagenda replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I didn't think that you could have done better than the first one but you did. Simply put this is one of my favorite MOC's ever. -
I applied the UCS X-wing clear sticker in a bowel of water with a drop of soap. To my surprise it worked perfectly. On the round pieces I like to place the sticker upside down on another piece then center the actual piece over the other and drop it down. Almost every time it works out well.

Bricklinking a 75059 Sandcrawler without the play features
neoconagenda replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Well he has been around since 2008 so I am pretty sure he is aware that this is a SW forum plus I still do not see where his comment was rude. Also what does this being an SW forum have to do with him voicing a valid opinion? Anyway, good luck with your BL project General Magma, I don't have any suggestions for you other than consider saving up and getting a used one online. You will eventually find a good deal if your stalk it long enough. -

I don't think he made a bad point about people going to extremes to BL a set when it is still on the market.
