How did I miss this post... I really need to get out more, thank you for posting the pictures!!!
-
I did read that you can remove the upper dish and grab it from the inside. I think I wil enjoy the build even if this set gets a lot of bad press.
-
I decided to re-read this review because I just got this set today. I dont really have a concern over the design or repeating build process because owning this set was never an option for me as I collect UCS sets... But I am surprised to see an almost total lack of positive posts. I really hope that I enjoy this build.

I just pulled the trigger and bought a 10143 on eBay. I did get it below the brickpicker price point but WOW it was still the most I have every spent on a single set.

I agree that collecting Lego as an investment vs a hobby is probably not the best retirement plan but..... I do enjoy the fact that I can buy a set, enjoy it, and then possibly let it go a few years later with minimal loss or even a profit.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
neoconagenda replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I usually dont geek out to much on these types of debates and this is the perfect example of why. Both of these lines are great. I get annoyed when TLG pulls a line before they do it justice. I had to buy from overseas and pay three times retail for a couple of the last planet series... Now back to pictures and rumors... any word yet on the new UCS MF??? HAHA!!! <--- not a serious question -
very nice!!!

Love the solution for the magnets. I must also say that the mix of grays looks great. -

I have faith that you can BL the DS and hope that you will run another thread on it. Your work on the ISD was very fun to follow!!! -
I love that you engineered out the bulk of the rare parts, which should not be rare in the first place - There is no longer a need for small gray levers says the man from Lego...

Bricklinking and Building 10030 UCS Star Destroyer
neoconagenda replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Good luck with this project. I looked at some of the parts for this and I am surprised to see the cost of the rare elements. There was a recent thread on this topic where the guy had found a really nice brand of paint that looked spot on. Have fun!!! -
1. UCS B-Wing 2. UCSTantive IV (2001) These are my two favorite Lego builds. I have not been lucky enough to build the DS 2 or the Falcon but I dont think that it would change my opinion because I just like these two ships...

I saw this on the technic side and meant to ask you about posting it over here. It is really an amazing project given the pneumatic control over all functions!

There are two prominant threads around that lay out the process fairly well. Below is a link to one of them. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=80053 -

If it is the same eBay guy that I used from Canada his stickers are really good. The big plaque for the 10019 is also nice.

She's quite the surprising woman indeed. She appreciated reading the nice comments and now she's back on pinterest "pinning" pictures of flowers and such.
-
She doesn't say too much because I mainly stick to UCS sets and large Technic sets. Basically she knows that if I die she can sale them for a profit! :)

So I had originally made this with a simple border of tan and brown tiles. I came home and found that my wife had a moment of creativity. I have to keep it because its her first Lego creation and she is my wife. I think it will grow on me...

Got the new Slave 1 last week and I am very happy with my decision to get it. I buy every ucs that is released because that's my thing but I only really enjoy a few builds. Blockade runner, B-Wing, and now the Slave 1...
