  1. I was looking for the same reason!!!
  2. Thank you for keeping us updated.
  3. I just notices the cat behind the R5... That made my morning and I dont even know why. The idea of a house cat in the picture is funny to me.
  4. I would say get it retail... Unless you enjoy the challange of sourcing it out. As far as the mini figs go I feel like you have to have them for that set as that is the sets major attraction, peering into the operations of the DS.
  5. Its am always amazed to see these great MOC's and then even more amazed to see how close you tried to stay to scale. As if the MOC was not already awesome you were able to keep it within a close tolerance to scale. You guys are awesome!
  6. I think this is a great example of how the use of angles can give a ton of depth to a small model.
  7. Love the use of the sextant on the R2
  8. Apologies if this is misplaced: Is there any method to how Target and TRU stock their eBay stores with UCS sets? The free shipping is great and you get the eBay bucks as well but I find them to be hit or miss on the listings. In fact they list items on eBay that they dont have on their website.
  9. Mine is the opposite with old grey being the primary. I think if the set is 95% or more in one color you dont notice. Now if the large wheels were in two colors it would be very obvious!!! Great job with the paint. It looks as though you would need to have really good lighting conditions to see the diff...
  10. I just finished building the 10030 a month or so ago and while bulding it I was inclined to look into replacing the old light gray with bley parts. This is an insane idea but based on that picture it looks really good with the contrasting dark parts. I did find that this set lends itself very well to custom greebling as it is basically a large blank canvas!!!
  11. Just got the 75060 on the Toys R Us eBay store. Cannot wait to build it!
  12. I want to thank everyone that replied. I have decided to pack up some sets and save them for a rainy day rebuild. I am going to leave the ultimate 8043 built tough since it is an awesome feat of Lego!!!
  13. Once again you have made an amazing work of art...
  14. None of this is easy. I have pros and cons for both types but the issue is that I love all of my Lego! I hope that I can find a better solution for keeping them on display. I should honestly box them up but the idea of nobody enjoying them seems sad to me... I need a Lego intervention
  15. If I do go the direction of selling off the Technic sets, which is going to be a last resort, I believe I will bring the sets back to base and sale on eBay and then get permission from the MOD creator to list the other parts as "MOD kits" and sell them at cost in the forum...
  16. Oh yes there is a community and we do spend a ton of money... I joke that my retirement plan is based on my brickpicker portfolio
  17. Sounds like a plan. The fact that I am even conflicted is because I know that a ton of effort goes into the directions alone not to mention the intellectual credit for the MOD itself. Thank you for your input on this as well as all the other work you do for the community.
  18. I bricklinked the parts so I have a pretty substantial investment. This question came up when I read in another post a while back that someone got in trouble for selling cavegod's AT-AT... I know that was an MOC but I have not come accross anything dealing with the sale of MODS...
  19. I have a large Lego collection Technic and SW UCS and have run out of room. I have not made up my mind on which direction to go but if I decide to drop the technic sets I think that I may have an issue since I have used various MODS on them. Lets use the ultimate 8043 for this question... Is it right for me to sale it as an ultimate 8043 knowing I had nothing to do with the MOD -or- Do I strip it down to the stock version and sale off the MOD parts seperate? I am leaning towards the latter choice but it would be easier to just sale it with the MOD... Your opinions on this are very much appreciated!
  20. I often wonder why TLG does not use parts more frequently. Take the LBG antenna, they used it on several sets and then gave up on it to use LBG base and a black antenna when the LBG antenna would look so much better. But at some point the decided to stop making them and they stuck to their decision. I understand some parts like the mast pieces on the MF or in this case the large wheels on the ISD.... I say paint away my friend, it will look just as good and you will have spent half the cash!!!
  21. I have bought 16 SW UCS and an 8043 and have had exactly 8 missing parts from the various sets. Some sellers had zero feedback and others had over 1000 but its a risk every time... BTW my SSD new from TLG was missing the sticker sheet...
  22. 10030 and it is every bit as amazing as I thought it would be!!!
  23. This is a total let down for me. I am sorry to anyone that is in love with this but for me it is a nightmare simply because it is so different from the other ties. Some of it (while beter than anything I could build) looks like a 10 year old designed it. I was holding out on starting Anio's MOC but now the choice is easy...
  24. I have so much respect for anyone that bricklinks these large sets. I attempted to BL the UCS snowspeeder and simply gave up due to the insane prices for the windscreens electing to wait for a cheap one topop on ebay. Over the years I have been stalking the ISD on ebay and every now and then (maybe 2 twice a year) you will see a good partial lot come up that nobody is paying attention to. I recently saw the top section go for under $200. Back on topic, Good luck and happy building! its a fun build and quite bigger than you think its going to be...
