Lightningtiger, it is not thát weird to have a building that only has windows as support.. here a picture of the office i'm working.. the outside is glass, On the inside there are a few pillars.....

Would love to see a crane like this in any 2013 City-set....

Nice collection.. you have to expand your shelf, i guess.. !!

I would also suggest wheels that are an average of the original small wheels and the wheels you used.. I'm currently looking for a modification on the car, because the original model is really bad.. The wheel-arches tear down the design of this car, IMO. Anyone a nice building instruction for a 6-wide MOD, with the parts that are available from the original model? I would definitely be interested!!! Greetz, LegoSjaak

I also used the 6 gold lattice panes, i ordered them togehter with the Palace Cinema, after i read this post.. It only cost me Eur 0,66 extra. I was wondering though, if there are glass window panes, that fit in there.. Do they exist?? Greetz, LegoSjaak

Looks great indeed, but where do we end up with custom parts......? I'd rather choose original parts only...

I think a desert does not offer much playability..... For most people, Africa is not more that a desert with a few wild animals here and there.. so, it wouldn't stimulate our imagination a lot, i guess.. So it doesn't suprise me that there are hardly any sets based on this part of the world.... Greetz, LegoSjaak

The pillar is not necessary...it is one sturdy pieces of technic beams and bridgepieces... The pillar is only for the realistic part....So you could still use it for a higher bridge! Haha, i got that monkey in a second hand brick-box with all kinds of sets and parts once.. Don't know where to leave it in my layout..so i put it on the bridge.. it might turn into (track-kill) one day (road-kill, but then on tracks...) The bridge bends just a tiny bit.. but if both ends are connected to a pillar orso, then it will be really functional as well! Greetz, LegoSjaak

Those cross beams are actually large bridgeparts from the 7900 bridge transport set. I was able to buy 3 of those sets second hand, so i could construct a bridge out of 3 x 4 = 12 bridge-pieces. The length of the bridge is approximately 1.3 meters.. Greetz, LegoSjaak

This picture is really way too small to see something that can be helpfull for what you mean.. isn't there a bigger picture?? Here is a bridge i created myself!

The wagon is in fact the wagon of the 3677, isn't it?

Woaah...cool farm... those crops make the picture so complete!!! Great!

I just drove it slow.. i dislike too high speeds for Lego trains, although it is a highspeed train . And i cannot afford derailing the train in the outer corner of the layout.. no idea how i should get there, haha.. The layout is 8 square meters, and is on the floor of an attic.......But is has two motors, one on each end, including lights.. ! Greetz, LegoSjaak

Well, finally here is the HE in my layout.... today i found time to make a video of it.... Here is the link:

Adam, i never thought about these issues for a long time, but what i do know is that i also experienced some difficulty in making a nice layout for my son, when we are playing with his Duplo train. For Legotrack it is mainly in my mind what is possible and what not, but for Duplo, it seems that you just start and see how the layout is growing, by adding track... I also found it difficult to make an 8-shape layout.. it is not as easy as it seems... I really have no answers on your questions, and i wonder if you'll get them here, but i can imagine you are a bit annoyed. Most Duplo builders will not create very complex layouts... so i do not think a lot of people care... they just let their children create something and that's it... Hope someone can give you answers...i can't... Greetz, LegoSjaak
