Most people can easily find these sets in several shops... just search before thinking they will not be on sale.... Here in Holland there are numerous internetshops who sell all wintersets for a nice price!!Succes wit your search, and you can't have all Lego at once.. it is also a way of collecting.. My layout took me 3,5 years.. and some even collect way longer... ! Greetz, LegoSjaak

Thumbs up for TLG, somehow they convinced me to buy at least 5 or 6 sets... and i think every year that there won't be very much i can add to my layout.....haha.. I like the Helicopter Arrest for being so realistic... also the house on fire is nice!

Maybe you could consider selling some sets or so, just to bring in some cash to celebrate Christmas a bit more like everyone got used to. I would really do so, if i was in your position... And, like Kristel said, spent the time you have on your family, to compensate for the 'smaller' presents...My parents could also only give me presents at my birthday and at 'Sinterklaas'; some kind of christmas-giving-presents-opportunity..and i was a happy kid as well! Owwhhh...that's a shame using clone brands......You should get a fine fot that or a at least you should loose your recently earned Locomotive-badge...haha!!Personally, i would never use one single piece of Lego-copied material in my layout!

That is looking good too.. i like how you put in the snowplough.. it looks really dynamic, as if it just stopped with ploughing and the motor is still running!I do put a street in my Winter Village, and will definitely use both vehicles on it!! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi there ! I'm currently re-doing my christmas layout. I added the Winter Village Cottage 10229 ofcourse and will add the 5766 Log Cabin in winter style. I was considering to put in the Emerald Night as well..it would fit with the car and the truck from the wintersets, but maybe the Emerald Night needs a few christmas-additions! Has anyone ideas how to pimp the Emerald Night and the passengercoaches??? Would love to see some nice examples!!! A christmas-style station doesn't fit in my layout..that would be to big... sadly... I created a snowy hill with all white parts i have at the moment.. I ordered a lot of white plates, to cover the roof. The parts will arrive soon. I'm happy with the snowy hill so far, and i think that the Log Cabin 5766 fits really well into the Winter Village scenery! Can't wait to go on with my Winterlayout.... !! Really nice.. i will expand my 2011 christmas layout with the Winter Village Cottage. Will soon start to put the 10229 into the layout... !! I will add another 48x48 baseplate and add some extra 'snow' and trees!! Here is the 2011 version:

Hi Legofans.. i couldn't find a review of the 10229 Winter Village Cottage yet, but did anyone, who build this set, notice the problem with the door? The red front door cannot be opened, due to the roof, hanging too low.. a crazy mistake.... Here some pictures... Hope to hear from you! The Winter Village Cabin is great....but..there is one nasty thing... The red door can not be opened... it only opens for a few millimeter... Why is this..it is a mistake by the designer, i presume.. or did i something wrong? Anyone else already noticed this... It is very weird...a door should be able to be opened.... ofcourse.. ! I know, all minifigs can enter via the back of the building....but all AFOL's know what i mean... I would like to ask TLG a question about it.... Here two pictures of the occuring problem!! You know, bigger isn't always better. I see small layouts with MOC's which are 10 times better and more beautifull than mine.... I just couldn't stop buying sets, and well, it was really nice work to place all those sets in a nice way, and in a logical way. They layout was done over and over again, but this is the result... do not know if it is the final result....;-)Greetz and thanx for you compliments! LegoSjaak

The total size is about 8 square meters. Approx 3 x 2.5 meters + 1 x 1 meters for the cargocentre. The winter village doesn't fit in the city... this little street is only downstairs for about 1 week a year! Greetz to Austria, Freundlichen Grüssen! Sölden im Ötztal is my second home town!! Oh yeah, Wabbajack, i will defintely buy two HE's. Hope i have some empty track for it to put it on... my city gets a bit overcrowded, although we are used to crowded cities here in Holland!!
