Wow...great.. in my youth, i had this train also... it still gives me a safe and cosey feeling when i see it..especially the last picture... Somehow i get a warm family feeling when i see the 12V trains... Apparently i had a nice and warm youth!! The wheels look great.. the metal gives the 7760 an extra powerfull look!!

Just curious, has Horizon Express been successful?
LegoSjaak replied to FlyerNut's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think it was/is succesfull....see lots of layouts with the HE running around.. I recently added 2 passengercars to my 2 sets.... Both engines have a motor with separate batterybox and receiver! Greetz, LegoSjaak -
I just put the Town Hall XL in my layout..now you can see how large it is... Here are some pictures and a YouTube link!

Jasper, i was looking at the wrong piece.. now i see what is meant.. the slightley curved, darkblue 2x2 tile-like, plate-thingy... I do not recognize that one..I was looking at the two curved darkblue pieces inside the building, above the front of the streetlevelwindows....those are these in darkblue...: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=93273 Sorry....

Am i mistaken if i say it are two dark blue pieces of these : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=93273

A very compact and clever use of parts... i like it !!!

Tought of that too, of making the tower wider on both sides... but after clicking a row of 1x1 bricks on both sides of the tower, i found out that it was too wide then.. out of proportion..But i definetely see what you are pointing out!! Thanks for the remark anyway!! Greetz, LegoSjaak

Thanks Iaka, it is actually a good idea, but there is hardly any space left to have it as a stand alone. I already exchanged the corner cafe with the market place in my layout, and then the Town Hall hopefully fits in the layout. There is a large tube coming out of the floor in my attick, that bends a bit. But if i put the lower piece of the MarketPlace under that tube, and take away the brown half of the Pet Shop, (after taking away the Cafe Corner, and swap it with the original position of the Market Place), the Town Hall should fit in with its 24 studs extra wirth.... Can't wait to try it out... ! Here a picture to show what i mean... here the Town Hall is stil the original size.. This is how the positions of the modulars was before MOD-ding the Town Hall...Greetz, LegoSjaak

, well, okay... so it is only a bench.. in the climate that we experience here in Holland today, you will need more than a bench to have people to take the bus..it need to protect people from wind and rain.. that's why i couldn't find it... Grogall, thankx! Now we only have to find the seagull... maybe it is a contest... or we have to think out of the box to find it... The one who can find the seagull gets a free admittance to the Lego factory and may shop for free for 5 minits....

The Parisien Restaurant is on the Shop at Home site.. in the discription is: "Intricate exterior details include facade with croissant detailing, bus stop, sidewalk, scooter and even a dumpster and trash can at the back" Has anyone already discovered the bus stop???? Greetz, LegoSjaak

Dang... thought i found something.. haha..Thanx!

Is there a new piece, 2x2 brick on the front of the restaurant, on the right, where the 4 green leaves are put in? I've never seen it before....

Kermit, i think you are right with the tower... i should lower it a bit, but the backside of the tower has a door now and an arch, so then i have to leave those, when i lower it.. maybe one layer of bricks will already be enough.. i'll figure it out, but when i was ready i saw the same 'out of proportion-view' as you mentioned... Thanks for your remark! it is pretty big indeed.. It is a pity that you cannot see anything from the inside when it is standing in the layout.... There should be a little spy-cam inside...! Thanks Kristel.. it gave me a lot of inspiration to MOD it.. building something.. tearing it down... building it again.. it just gave me some fun experience in building! Thank Tiger, i never had a building that is so heavy before.....i think my TownHall was built to serve a bigger town in the future... Well, there was a story told here in Holland about a family that was waiting for some papers, to buy a house.. but as they did not get those papers now, they had to stay in a hotel with their kids... (as long as there is roomservice, that wouldn't be too bad, i guess.. )

This was done just in time, just before the Great Government ShutDown... I think i had luck with the pillars... somehow they immediately fitted in place.. there are no larges gaps or so, it really works well!! One of the both majors is getting married...so his hands will be tight by his new wife... I did not yet place it in between other buildings, but i think that because of the bigger difference in size, it is no longer disturbing... Now that it is wider, it is just a tall building! The haunted house would be a very nice set as well to MOD... i've seen some nice pictures of people who already MODded one... ! Hope you can show us pictures soon!!

Hello EB-members, i always only put original sets together, mostly City and Creator. I admire people who create their own Modular-like buildings... I do not have those building skills (yet) but with expanding the 10224 Town Hall by 2 x 12 studs i learned a bit about the way these buildings are made.. It was so much fun and i'm really proud of the result.. I know, it might not be too special for others, but for me it was the first step to more MOD's and hopefully, MOC's....!!! The building is made out of 2 sets, and is widened by 12 studs on both sides..so total wodth is 56 studs now! The building is also taller due to the longer and higher tiled roof on the 2 x 3 pillars. I created some extra rooms in the building and also the tower is a lot taller. I started with the first floor, and worked up. The extra pillars were the most difficult to integrate. You can find more pictures on my Flickr site. Greetz, LegoSjaak!

Did anyone already MOC a panoramic car for the HE? I'm thinking of making a car with a panoramic roof on top of it, by using 2 front windows from the 7938 passengertrain and placing them horizontal...Seems to be a bit hard to cover the sides though.... Greetz, legoSjaak

Or a beggar... with an empty bottle of wine... Includes a BUS STOP????

It definetely sounds French...you have to pronounce it as Albééhrt. This new modular will cause more people to start collecting all of the modulars.....no-one who ever liked Lego a bit, can't resist this....!! Sooooo Beautifull!!!

..in love with this one...TLG has done another great job.....this is more than i expected or hoped...!!! Thanks for making my day!!!

Here is mu almost finished Town Hall MOD... And another picture..of the pillars...
-
i also widened the pillars by 2x2 to 2x3 pillars... due to that the first floor had to be somewhat higher... I'll post pictures later!! It looks great!

That is good news for my wallet...however i would rather empty my wallet on a new exclusive train........ Hope the 2014 City-Train-Set will be a set with some side-buildings....! And eh..Nesquick, is the new City train just a speculation, as the title of this topic says?Greetz, LegoSjaak

My first big Modular MOD... it is in fact still a WIP but i did some hours of work already... it is a great build! The Modded Town Hall is widened by 2 x 12 studs.....I will also modify the interior, but use almost only pieces from the Original 2 x 10224 sets that i used for this MOD.
