  1. This is a totally random list but has about as much probability of being accurate as any other list so here you go: #1 Teddy bear #2 Snowman #3 Ballerina #4 Carpenter #5 Bridegroom #6 American football player (opposing team) #7 Ice hockey player (opposing team) #8 Tightrope walker #9 Native American girl #10 Street juggler #11 18th century highway bandit #12 Female hippy #13 Fishmonger #14 Balloon sculptor #15 Classic circus strongman #16 Businesswoman
  2. looking at her outfit with it's grafitti like motifs I would imagine that Wildstyle is her 'tag' or codename. bit like 007 is the codename of James Bond. Lucy will be her real name which is only used when she gets closer to Emmet.
  3. It's a shame the packaging is just a box. A funky theme like this should have more funky packaging. With studs on and usable in the same way the X-Pods packaging was. I dunno, a tube maybe with a double row of studs running equidistantly down four sides. Not that a tube has sides but you know what I mean. Or something like the star wars planets. Use the same piece in white with a pupil printed on one half so you'd have a massive eyeball like the dot of the 'I' in the logo. At least then you'd have large domes you could utilise. It just seems like the packaging shown is pretty lacklustre. It's not bad or horrible but it isn't great.
  4. Ooh now I'd be all over a Cyborg fig. He looks freakin' awesome in his Lego form.
  5. Ooh, 2x1 tile with spikes. Nice. The mini ball joints are very cool. Enough to have people snapping these up. Not to mention the yellow bush. I'm way more excited by this than I am by The Hobbit or Superheroes. New things! Shiny things! Yay!
  6. Must have that bush piece in yellow. I quite like the idea of printed eyeballs on 1x1 round tiles and technic ball joint connector balls. Looks like a fun theme. Top marks for Lego branching out. I had a feeling they would to combat a lot of the clone brands.
  7. So the scientist is called Professor C. Boden according to her security badge. Is that another Lego designer? Or is it a science joke I'm not getting? The waitress with angry face reminds me of gruff voiced Roz from Monsters Inc. "Wazowski!" I'm liking the mountain rescue dude more and more. The barbarian is cool and the Professor C. Boden is excellent. That robot though. I see a mischievous face on her torso print with the gauges as eyes and the little display below like a sharp toothed mouth. It's unsettling.
  8. I'm disappointed the Lake Town buildings aren't dark brown. Or have more dark brown in them. They look a bit bland in reddish brown. The minifigs are colourful and the boat is reddish brown so it isn't like the set would be too drab. I just think it looked a bit richer and more interesting in the render.
  9. The problem with the diner waitress is her hair. It isn't nearly as big and bouffant as it should be and she doesn't have a starched stand up head band. So she doesn't look completely like a diner waitress. Also she seems too mature to be roller waitress. That sort of hairstyle isn't something a younger waitress would wear. The apron being square looks odd too. rounded off corners or just round with a frill would look more fitting. The whole figure looks like two designs were just smashed together and this is what came out. It's neither one thing or another.Perhaps it was a rush job? So if the apron were a different design, the hair were bigger and had a head band and she appeared to be younger it might have worked. As it stands it'll need some swapping of head and hair to look anywhere near right. Although, the hairpiece she comes with will be great for other minifigs in long dresses or airport stewardesses.
  10. I've just been pondering the characters in this Lego movie and noticed something. The main Villain - Metalbeard - Doesn't actually have a beard. He has a droopy moustache. So either one of the jokes of the movie is that he doesn't have a beard, or it's a really stupid name.
  11. Cartoonish faces? Lego minifigures ARE cartoons. A distorted representation of our world. Their faces are more animated these days with a wider variety of expressions but they're cartoons. Even the original minifigs with the one face across all had a cartoon face. And here's the thing, you can change the heads on them. YES! You can swap bits of the figures around if you don't like them the way they come. I know right! Ingenious. Who would have thunk a building block based toy could have swappable parts? And not only that they're backwards compatible with ancient parts from decades ago. Amazing!
  12. Cow lick. That's what that bit on the back of his hair is called. A stubborn tuft of hair that refuses to lie flat no matter how hard you comb it or flatten it. I'm not a fan of Emmet's look. Or Lucy's outfit and hair pink and blue decoration. Lucy could have looked amazing but the pink and blue are just too garish. The vehicle Lucy drives is nice looking but not my sort of thing. It looks unbalanced and clunky. The robot police are cool. nice vests and the heads are nicely robotic without being over the top. Lovely new weapons and the night vision goggles piece is a sweet addition. Their vehicle is a little overdone but looks a lot nicer than the hero vehicle of the set. I probably won't buy the set that's been revealed but the robot cop minifigures interest me a lot so i hope there's plenty of them scattered across the other sets.
  13. I must be the only one who likes the mountain climber. he fits in perfectly with the two skiers and two snowboarders we have already. If you look at the mountain climbers torso his chest emblem has a medical star on top of a mountain peak. Which seems to signify that this is mountain rescue not just a mountain climber. Also the red of his outfit would suggest that too. Give this guy a ski-mobile or rescue helicopter and he'll look a lot better and make more sense. Of course I could be wrong and Lego intended him to be nothing more than a rock climber. I'm going to get a few and have a mountain rescue team. It'll fit in well with the forest fire and police City sets from last year.
  14. I like them all apart from the 'lady robot'. That's just a horrible minifigure. Grandma, Constable, waitress, musician, scientist, welder, climber and scarecrow are must haves for me. Mech, Tiki warrior, elf, gingerbread man will be nice to have but not essential. Barbarian, Bavarian girl and Yeti I'm not likely to get but who knows. The cat and the darker teddy bear are really nice. The welders gear and saxophone are awesome and the constables truncheon is very retro. Placing him in the 1950's by the looks of him. Stick him on a black bicycle chasing one of those cat burglars from this years City museum robbery set and he'll look right at home.
  15. What material is it constructed in? Is it paper? expanded styrene? foam rubber? The dimensions are excellently accurate given how large it is. I love that he's sitting on a giant Lego plate too.
  16. The horses are the best part of the set. They'll make great Circus horses. Regarding the rest of the set, I fail to see how an outdoor winter market could have been achieved if it wasn't done in lots of small builds. Try to see this in context with the other winter village sets, the skating pond and the bakery. The large decorated christmas tree, the christmas tree stall, the bandstand. It all fits together perfectly. In fact it's far more cohesive than modulars or City sets.
  17. I really hope the Riddler's dragster is a preliminary stage model. It looks absolutely awful. The Batmobile is Interesting at 12? studs wide. That only adds to how pathetic the Riddler's dragster looks. The Flash minifigure looks brilliant Though if he doesn't get boots and ankle wings printed on I'll be peeved. The helmet is awesome though. Thanks for the pictures people.
  18. I thought the neck posts on minidolls were the same diameter as minifig neck posts? Won't the loops of the apron fit over the neck post of a minifig?
  19. That's a vast improvement on the old one. The cartoon face shark from the Agents theme could have worked if given a less cartoon-ish face but this one seems close enough to the original and detailed enough to add some oomph to play and display. I'm totally in love with the helicopter nose section. Really hope the lower piece comes in white some time soon. Or the nose comes in orange.
  20. I like the exterior. That the dimensions correspond to actual Lego bricks. That there are things to do at roof level such as the maze. However, the interior hasn't been designed yet so I can't see any point discussing it until there are concrete plans. It seems far too early to be banging the hype drum if it isn't going to be open for another three years.
  21. Just so there's no confusion, I was in no way excusing the kids. I have very strong opinions on parenting and responsibility but this isn't the place for such opinions. I'd get into lots of trouble for expressing them.
  22. Under youth justice the culprits will probably receive nothing more than a fine or a stint doing community service. After all no-one was actually physically hurt. Let's try and keep some perspective. True the model was destroyed and thus a large part of the display was then absent, but i assume the building event went ahead and Ryan would have received any remuneration owing to him for the event. The vandals are of course douchebags but many 14 year olds are. That's part of being a teenager. Peer pressure, a need to make a mark and impress. Lego attracts those of a more intellectual bent with a softer nature. Unfortunately that's a minority. Ryan McNaught will probably be able to salvage the helicopter and have it back on display somewhere (hopefully cordoned off so it can't be accessed) and the only losers will be the idiots who thought it would be fun to ruin other people's fun.
  23. I'm a Hobbit. I knew that anyway. Short, stout, not into adventures or fighting. I'm probably most Like Samwise in real life.
  24. The biggest problem I see with your idea Klaus, is that of the PF function. I could see a lift being hand crank-able only. Unless of course it was an exclusive or direct to customer set. In principle I think a water park is an excellent idea but to fit into the City theme it would need to be slightly less ambitious.
  25. Just bought: Bumblebee Girl Decorator Motorcycle Mechanic Skydiver Paintball Player Still need: Trendsetter Grandpa Librarian Sea Captain My budget is incredibly tight so I've had to limit myself to only City based minifigs. I also got the Plumber, chicken suit guy and Judge from series 9 while I saw them. EDIT: The decorator is now one of my all time favourite minifigs. Despite the printing on his torso being a bit thin and his leg connections being a bit loose, he's just perfect. I see now though what people are saying about the different plastic from China. You can see it straight away. I hadn't noticed it on any other minifgs bt it's so noticeable on series 10. Even so, Chinese Lego is still much better quality than any clone brand. So I can live with it.
