  1. Welcome to the forum! Great looking bike. You've done a nice job blending studded and studless parts together.
  2. I like that material handler. Great looking set with some nice functions. It doesn't surprise me that it has the option of being motorized. I'm curious to see how the claw opens/closes. 2013 is shaping up to be a good year for LEGO Technic.
  3. Great moc with unique features. It looks to be well built too, especially for building it in only a month. Do you have any videos? PF seatbelt.
  4. 8069 gets my vote. Great build process, and the mini-LA's are really usefull pieces to have.
  5. Great looking crawler! I like the locking diffs and telescopic driveshafts. Nice overall design too. Well done. I have some friends that run the Hammers on a regular bases. Several years ago, I had a chance to drive and ride along on some of the trails at the Hammers. Pretty insane trails with some very capable vehicles out there.
  6. Always nice to see a aircraft moc! NIce job! I like the 6 cylinder radial engine...nice little addition.
  7. That ebay store is located in Florida. Here's the store through the US ebay site: http://stores.ebay.com/ile9os
  8. Welcome to the forum! Aside from the 8845 and 8868, I also recommend 8464, although it is built using more old-school studded construction. Nice steering mechanism, 4wd, fake engine, plus the air tank is nice. There is also the 8462 pneumatic tow truck, which has two air tanks (but studded construction), 8436 pneumatic crane truck (studless construction with newer style pneumatics), or the 8049 log loader. IMHO, 8049 isn't a great value for the money, but it does have pneumatics and includes a small pneumatic compressor if you wish to add a motorized compressor. Also, you may want to check the LEGO Education website. They don't really have any pneumatic sets, but they do have pneumatic parts packs that you can purchase. They also sell air tanks on the site. Can't go wrong with the Unimog either.
  9. Looking really good! I like the swing mechanism.
  10. Thanks for the excellent review, Splat. Great pictures too. I'm digging the new 8t gear.
  11. That tractor is uber cool. You come up with some fantastic creations!
  12. Yet another great moc by Sheepo! Well done! I especially like the pneumatic brakes. Very similar to how real drum air brakes work. Any more details on the parking brake function? Curious how that works. I'm surprised the drivetrain can withstand the torque of 4XL motors, but it appears to hold up just fine in the video. Again, well done!
  13. Looks great! I like the mini-LA's used for the steering. Nice job hiding the IR receivers too.
  14. Congrats Grohl! Definately a great builder and really deserves a spot amongst the Technic designers. I'm looking forward to whaterver sets he designs.
  15. Hey Paul, If the geometry is setup correctly, you don't need the axle to slide in/out of the CV joint. If you don't have any special hub pieces or CV pieces, it is still possible to build an idependent suspension with just u-joints. It may not be as compact, but it's still doable. Do you have any pictures of your suspension setup without the tires?
  16. That's an interesting machine. I like the telescopic front and rear scoops, as well as the front stabilizers. The offset cab is intriguing. This JCB looks more like a telehandler with a front scoop and a backhoe added. The entire machine appears to be designed for light duty applications, so single beam on the loader is probably sufficient.
  17. D3K hit the nail on the head. Sounds to me like the u-joints don't lign up with the pivot points. This will cause the axles to slide out and/or cause excess friction on the axles. A side note: It's possible to build a suspension with the u-joint offset from the pivot points, as long as it's offset equally on the oppposite pivot point.
  18. Looks good! I've always liked the single cab VW's. I like the dual carburators sticking up out of the back.
  19. Brilliant design there! Fantastic work!
  20. Welcome! It's nice to see another Technic builder join us. My story is similar to yours, and I, too, lost interest in LEGO while in school. I just started building again about 4 years ago, after graduating from school. The 8110 Unimog is a fantastic set. There are a lot of great parts, including the pneumatics. 8043 is also good, but it doesn't have a whole lot of parts. The RC stuff is nice though, especially if you plan on building RC models. My personal favorite for somebody looking to get back into Technic is the 8258 Crane Truck. It has lots of gears, an XL motor with PF switch, a couple of LA's, 8 wheels, and lots of parts. I really like this set. If you can find it cheap, it's worth getting. Again, welcome to the forum!
  21. This is an amazing car! Superbly built, and I love the doors.
  22. That is one fantastic moc! Love the studless version. Nicely done.
  23. The older PLS had solid axles, but the newer ones have the independent suspension that cgarison mentioned on the front two axles. The rear two (or three) axles are still solid. I get the impression that the independent front axles are standard, but they may optional....not sure on that. I used to work on an Army base, and the PLS is an impressive machine.
