Yeah, I've done the "enter" and "delete" method, but that seems backwards to me. It seems like there should be an easier way to unselect, like clicking outside the part. Pressing "enter" just copies the part, and pressing "delete" removes the copied part. If that's the only way to unselect, then so be it, but seem goofy to me. I guess I don't know how to align parts on sr3d. I'll have to work on it a bit more. 99% of my posts are in the Technic forum. I didn't even know there was a subforum for digital tool.

Ah, ok! Good tip! That solved my problem. Thanks! Also, another question: The vertical spacing seems to be off when building Technic mocs. Is there any way to fix this? Also, is there any way to get gears to mesh together properly, or do I just rotate the gears until they fit together correctly? Thanks again!

Hey all, I'm trying to learn how to use MLCAD. So far, it seems pretty easy, but I've run into an issue, and I can't figure out how to fix my problem. I inserted a gear at an odd angle on purpose. Now, every subsequent part I try to insert comes in at the same odd angle. How do I go back to inserting parts without the odd angles? I'm sure there's an easy fix, but I haven't figured it out. Thanks!

This looks really great. I like the movement of the bucket arm, and you've done a nice job building the tracks. What motors are you using? I'm assuming XL, but I'm not sure that is correct. Also, is there any particular reason you went with the gearbox design instead of using 8 motors and 4 IR receivers? Great job here!

My vote: 8854 Power Crane. This was my first Technic set and a gift for my 7th birthday. It's a really great set, with some unique parts and pneumatics. 852 Helicopter. To my knowledge, this is the only set to include realistic collective control, with the exception of the new helicopter. 8855 Airplane. In my opinion, the most realistic airplane ever made by LEGO. Working ailerons, elevator, fake engine with moving pistons. Only thing it missed was the lack of a working rudder.

Eric, maybe you can try replacing the motor for the changeover mechanism with a different motor. Might be having some problems with the motor. I second Alasdair Ryan's suggestion as well. I'm not a huge fan of the changeover mechanism on 8043. A clutch gear somewhere in there would have been really nice to keep the motor from stalling.

Fantastic job replicated the Kenworth. You've captured the lines of the truck perfectly. Nicely done! -

1: 8110 Unimog--Working suspension, engine, 4wd, large wheels, motorized compressor, pneumatic crane. Technic doesn't get much better. 2: 8258 Crane Truck--Fantastically complex, includes XL motor, and lots of gear. It's a great parts pack. 3. 8421 Mobile Crane--I don't have this, but large cranes are just plain cool. -

This looks really good effe! I like the motor placement. How do you like the L motors when compared to the M and XL motors? -

Fantastic loader you have built. It's very realistic, I like your use of the mini turntable on your pendular rear axle. I like your building style. -
Help with a new car
dhc6twinotter replied to jorgeopesi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What about a car that isn't as exotic? Maybe something like a Lotus Exige? The transverse engine/transmission would be something different. Maybe a front engine car, like the Aston Martin Vanquish? The Aerial Atom would be another nice car, even if its been done before. -

Your video editing skills are amazing! Really nice job there. -
This truck looks fantastic! Love your models. Great pictures too. How did you make the transparent picture? Are you guys talking about the fenders on the front of the trailer? Every tanker truck I've ever seen in the States has those fenders. Most of the time, the tractors don't have rear fenders, unless it's a show truck. That's why they put fenders on the front of the trailers. Looks good and realistic to me.

Oh, man! Another Technic builder at Brickfair! Bummer I missed it this year; it would have been great to meet another Technic builder. Maybe we'll get to meet next year. Welcome to the forum! -

Do they understand you?
dhc6twinotter replied to Foggy's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm 29 and just existed my dark ages about 3 or 4 years ago. Most of the people I know are very supportive of my hobby, although one of my co-workers once told me I need to get a wife. She's probably right. Sometimes, at LEGO conventions, people ask how much my models cost. I give them an honest round-a-bout figure, but then I also explain that I don't spend a couple thousand dollars on a video game system that is outdated every 5 years. I explain that LEGO parts that I collected when I was 5 are still compatible with LEGO parts today. My models are built with parts that I've collected for years. That makes sense to most folks. When people make a comment about how much time I spent on a model, I just tell them I don't play video games and watch little TV. I think most people I run across understand that people have hobbies, and while building with LEGO may seem like an odd hobby, people are ok with it.
