Reading through its Wiki page, one thing stuck out: It would seem that the movie would only be loved by die-hard pirate movie fans. So you agree that the movie failed. This movie was a box office failure (Budget $98 million, Box office $10 million). And you agree that it failed because interest in pirates was waning. I am confused as to why you are annoyed by Aanchir's post. I think TLG could do something similar to Ninjago and create their own media content to support the Pirate Theme.

Old Lego Pirates Commercial + Short Stop-motion Story
Capn Frank replied to LEGO_Knight12's topic in LEGO Pirates
I added this video to the Index of Pirate Lego Films. Thanks for sharing. Brings back wonderful childhood memories. -
I agree. You should post pictures.

Since this is a MOD of a set, it should go in the Pirate MOCs Forum. I don't own the set yet, but I can try to help. Hull: I would make the hull with an additional 2 mid-sections, depending on how long you think it needs to be for three masts. I would add a gangway similar to what's on the Black Seas Barracuda. There would need to be railing added, which would build up the sides of the vessel, so it doesn't look odd with a higher stern and low gangway. Captains Cabin & Stern: I would use only the gold lattice windows with black frames for windows. Consider the 2 stud wide windows as extras. I don't think the captain's cabin needs to be much longer than it is currently. I would get rid of the cannon on top of the captain's cabin and build it up higher maybe adding a window or two behind the helm, similar to the Queen Anne's Revenge set. Building up the stern could get hairy if you don't have the right sloped bricks of your own. Don't forget to try the red 1X2 curve-sloped bricks. You could use brackets or headlight bricks for some SNOT work. Rigging: You could change the rigging to a classic ship-rig (see below). Three masts. Three square-rigged sails -- 2 skull and 1 tiny -- on the fore and main masts. The mizzen -- back -- mast could have the lateen sail and if there's room, a tiny sail on top. You have one tiny sail left. It could be placed under the bowsprit. If you aren't able to use both tiny square rigged sails, you could use it to add a sail for a brick-built row-boat that you could make in the future.

Again, great work.

Lots of great new MOCs keep sailing into the Pirate Forum. Plaid Beard finished The Tumble-Home Tavern. The most crooked, broken-down tavern in the Caribbean. TheBrickAvenger shared Port Royal being attacked by a pirate horde, but fortunately for its inhabitants the local militia is there. Both of these creations have lots of great action and detail, so take your time and look closely. Come spend more time looking at other great creations in the Lego Pirate MOC Forum.

I don't think you should need permission to use anyone's sigfig. If anyone's sigfig has been posted online, you leave yourself open to be whacked, canned, captured, shot, wedgied,or hung. I think I told you everything for mine. KB has a bunch of his clones in a recent MOC. Here's a picture of Capt. Stabbin's latest sigfig: I am not certain about the other two.

I have expanded this topic to be a Longstanding Topic where comments or questions related to the Pirate Forum can be posted.

Great work on the texture of the buildings and road. Do the buildings have an interior? Phredit:

Thank you Captain Dee It's good to see staff contribute their own MOCs to the forum. That doesn't always seem to happen. Also, I have always liked placing other sigfigs into my MOCs. I still have sigfigs of members that haven't been active for 5+ years. Once I take the time to put your sigfig together from the description you provided in you intro topic, you'll be included too. Yes, here's my face and torso. Please don't judge me because the torso is from Star Wars. I bought a lot of Star Wars Lego from 2004 to 2007.

Necromatic, cannibalistic islanders! I love it! It makes so much more sense as to why King Kahuka has a wand/magic stick thingy. I'll steal that idea when I get the chance.

[MOC] Captain Cookie's Only Pirate Gang
Capn Frank replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great crew. Where are you? Or did you teach Captain Cookie? Goofus? I'm not a goofus, especially when I'm wearing my RedBeard costume.- 29 replies

General MOC-Discussion, WIP-Help, and Teaser Thread
Capn Frank replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in LEGO Pirates
The baker spies a new neighbor: The exterior is nearly done, but there's no interior. Phredit: Need a BL order or a LUG trade to finish the exterior for the house. In the mean time, I've started on a five cannon fort:- 315 replies

Pillage the Village Contest: Out for Blood Edition
Capn Frank replied to Capn Frank's topic in LEGO Pirates
Is there a way to make the vessel a little shorter? Your entry's main build (the entire hull) should to be able to fit inside the 16X16 square. I would interpret the bow extending beyond the square to be overlap.- 144 replies

Thank you for the complements. I got the idea from a collaborative tower that Jareth made in our WisLUG. If possible, I would recommend people to attend their local LUG meetings. There are some good building techniques I've learned from looking at MOCs in person. I'm glad I could help. He hobbles along fine. He still runs fast. Watch out for his left hook though. I almost lost an eye. Yes, my daughter was playing with her new Dalmatian and a space horse. Maybe when my next building is done, I'll do that. I will need to lift the building off the layout to open it. The building is not that large, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Merged these topics, since they were talking about the same thing. It was not easy for me to find this topic, so I'm not surprised you didn't add to it. I (or a regulator) will add this topic to our list of Longstanding Topics. I'm glad to see TLG at least continue to create Pirate elements, even if they're made for a sci-fi ninja theme.

This more closely resembles a pictorial review without writing. If you write about the set, this topic could be turned into a review and be added to Set Review Index.

Since there have not been any confirmed news or rumors for upcoming Pirate sets in 2016, and much of the discussion is about the hopes and wishes for the Pirate Theme, I have attempted to more appropriately rename this topic. I think Lego should break away from its current crutch of Licensed Themes and develop more of their own supporting media to go with certain themes. TLG has done a great job of this with Lego Friends. My daughter, wife, and I love the theme and the shows are really well done. I think something similar could be done for Pirates. There's not much for a Pirate kids show, and TLG could grow in that area. I would love the kid show and theme to be educational, where kids learn the history of sail and learn how everything was done during the age of sail.

Yes, I can! I was being lazy and waiting for a minion regulator to move the topic.

Lets keep the discussion in this topic about Mattb483's ships, not your creations. That what your topics are for. Thanks.
