  1. Probably there is a video card driver issue. Do you (or someone for you, or windows itself) update your video card recently? About reinstalling LDD, did you checked if the user data has been removed? Look for an "LEGO Company" directory in your user data folder (type %APPDATA% in the address bar of the windows explorer) and delete it once the software is removed. You could also try to modify LDD settings editing the preferences.ini file (add the line: CompatibilityModeLevel=100 if it is not there or replace it if the value is different), increasing the compatibility level.
  2. LEGO Universe Mode don't exists anymore. Please read the note written in large characters in the first page of this topic. PS: as you can note you have resumed a very old topic, it was abandoned about five years ago. Be very careful when you post in old topics to avoid necroposting.
  3. Otherwise you can try to improve the instructions generated by LDD using groups. You can find a link to the explanation in the Section Index (one of the two pinned topics in this section). Probably it is not the best solution, but it don't require any external tool.
  4. Some suggestions are: Using a powerful PC Split the model in submodels with (easy connection points among submodels) Use the Hide Bricks feature of LDD, hiding the part of the model where you are not working on.
  5. LDD is probably the easiest, but it is more limited and almost abandoned. Mecabricks is a very interesting and active project, it surely deserves a chance. LDCad is at the moment the main LDRAW based software, it has a virtually unlimited parts database and a modern interface. Stud.io is new, but it seems promising, but I can't tell you more as I never tried it. You can find other info about LEGO software in the Section Index (one of the two pinned topics in this section of the forum).
  6. I don't remember that deleting empty groups was a huge problem, but it could become boring when you need to copy groups inside other groups to maintain the group hierarchy. The faster way to remove groups probably is to open the LXF file (it is a zip file, open it with a file archiver), access the lxfml file (a text file written by LDD using XML markup language) and remove the content inside the <GroupSystem></GroupSystem> tags. Save the file and open it again with LDD, to check if everything is fine.
  7. Any word about how do you realize the hybrid, what software are you using, the idea itself?
  8. Did you ensure that the user folder of LDD has been deleted after uninstalling? Did you checked your graphic card driver? (which graphic card?)
  9. I think that trying to get information from customer service is not much useful. I don't think they are not aware of the problem, I think that TLG doesn't want to reveal nothing about what's happening so the customer care give us ready-made answers. We should simply wait that the situation gets back to normal or they decide to reveal what's happening.
  10. Maybe they are working on the servers and, as LDD is not supported yet (no vital service is suspended), they simply don't care if LDD remains some time without connection, it works anyway. Frankly I'm not worried at the moment, let's wait for other news.
  11. It seems there is no problem, as Superkalle has explained. Maybe when LDD was active and maintained there was a reason to avoid certain hidden settings, but now it seems it is not important. On my "notepad" I wrote about the developer mode and other hidden settings as "settings TLG don't want to spread", so when I read the topic, I thought it was a delicate argument that needed to be approved before open a public topic.
  12. @Saberwing40k He is true. Developer mode is not something new, and the topic has been discussed time ago. Superkalle will surely be able to better explain the situation.
  13. Please: - Specify the tool you are using (LDD. LDCad, MLCad, ecc...) and its version. - Edit the title of the topic adding the information. - Specify the Design ID of the bricks you are trying to connect. - Describe the way you are trying to connect the bricks and the way the problem occurs. - maybe attach a file containing the digital model that shows the problem.

  16. Hi yojeff, welcome in the LDD Official Sets topic. Very good work for a first contribution. I just compacted a bit some spaces. Go on this way.
  17. Very interesting project! Is there any idea to add it to the LDRAW all-in one installer? About this topic, it would be very useful to provide, in the first post, some examples with image and related ldr file, so that users can see in a glance what this software can do. With a presentation page, this topic can be added in the section index.
  18. Correct, I just wanted to point up that open the new file causes the closure of the previously opened file (LDD don't manage two files simultaneously), but I didn't remember the exact procedure (not sure, I placed them as a single point! )
  19. I think that open a file copy the desired bricks close the file and open the new file paste the bricks should work too. I'm quite sure I use this method with the previous versions of LDD not much time ago.
  20. @vean Don't forget to follow the rules about add a new entry on an existing topic and post once per day. In this topic build from official build instructions is a important requisite in order to accept the entry as regular. Now that KamalMYafi have reported the BI on the LEGO website, please check again your model and inform me, so I can check it as regular.

  23. Thanks for the very useful work. What do you think about adding a link to the xml file in the update post too? It would be comfortable, I shouldn't load the first page of the topic every time to get the link.
  24. @inkpanther I think you are imagining the method I described much more complicated than it is, and you are not considering that move a whole building could be difficult to handle for your computer and difficult for you to centre the right position. Anyway I agree with you: there are many methods, and a builder should use the one he/she prefer.
