  1. Yeah new shiny parts and colours... but NC is far more superior and briliantly executed and well thought compared to the NCG. NCG is just shiny newer bigger parts pack :) Pretty but dull.
  2. Considering that NC is 3 yrs old and NCG uses many new parts and molds, there aren't so many details and variety compare to the original NC... Its more airy, since the middle part is empty and there is a tree growing through the first floor, so it makes a small square in the Old world. so plenty of space for plants, and small touches such as bench, but still. Not so much in compare to the NC. Just a little bit which is understandable since its 3 yrs "newer" :)
  3. Are there pictures of it available?
  4. Original NC and camera unfriendly angle? U mean backside? I dont consider that as a camera unfirendly angle. But I guess that this is more subjective. Its not about number of presents we get (or not get) its about logic and thoughts put into a complex set like this. Imagine you are a kid/or youngster or even AFOL and buy this set. Its your first introduction to the "NC line" since you dont have previous sets and they cost all the money nowdays. This is not complete. Not at all. Thats is the problem I have. It is amazing by the look for sure. It will look nice on the shelf (u need to find a really big one), and maybe kids dont care much about ladders/stairs or other things I mentioned above, but some of them do. As a playset, its really hard to remove and put on all individual modules (and there are many of them) so its not a strictly playset. But its for reasonable price (compare to the other recent D2C sets) so maybe its not only for AFOLS or kids with rich parents :) I think that you get my point now right? Certainly it looks beautiful, no doubt about that. But if I look close, i see those fails and design flaws, and I dont want them to be seen. But as would Sheldon say "I know about them". And thats what bothers me. To sum up - nice looking colorful set, with many design flaws and logical mistakes or omisions. As a standalone set it doesnt work. I would not recomend it as a start for NC. Original one was 1000x better. Thats me.
  5. Dont forget on the runnig sushi at the top! That was brilliant! :)
  6. figuratively... you know what I ment by that.
  7. The more I look at NCG the more ambivalent opinions I have. So many illogical things. For example: 1. how can you get from the ground floor to the Ninjago fan apartment above the food shop? 2. why is Ronin pawn shop open at the back? What is the point of those doors? 3. why is that ladder to the tea time balcony above the bust with hat? Anyone who want to go up need to climb through that thingy.. 4. any chance to get from old city to the street level beside using that flying scooter? 5. How can I reach that secret room where Jay's ninja costume is hidden? No doors no ladder... 6. where is that control room with computer etc. in tower? Is it that "Ninja zone"? It was advertised separately so it confuses me... 7. no boat (but thats just me...) 8. to get to the Zen garden on rooftop (Hig rise) you need to climb from that balcony between green apartment and Ninjago museum of history? Is this the only way? Very dangerous then...(for ordinary citizens obviously)... and there is more (...) On one side I can clearly see love and passion of the design team in the set, but at the same time its just bunch of chaotic mismatch and not logical structures mixed together... I l consider original NC as a best set and certainly better than this. Sorry...
  8. Too much considering and predjudices. Maybe they just need/want attention. I am not sure how bad "scum" word is in your country but where I come from, its really rude. I think, following rules of this community that "we" can avoid to use such words to mark other people right? Slap yourself and be nice :)
  9. C'mon, "scum" is it really necessary? :)
  10. It make sense... It could be and stone island with the Horcrux, Harry and Dumbledore, small boat and maybe a little surroundings and 2-3 inferi? I can see that in my head :) And? There will be a winter wave or next year...be patient my little padawan :)
  11. Why? DA? Checked! Hogsmead? Checked! Inferi lake? Cool! Quidditch? Cool... so whats wrong?
  12. So no stairs or elevator from ground level to the street level. Balcony on the side can be removed and placed to the other side, same with the one on the green building. So the set can be placed next to NC directly. At least that. For those who dont have any of the previous sets, its a bummer... Hah I just posted the same description of the vid as you did :D
  13. Overkill? If u put it in the line (depends if u have all 3 sets) it would be 4 baseplate far from each other. In minifig perspective its a hell of a distance. But what about the people who dont have previous sets? Lift is not neccesary, it could be just stairs. But I havent noticed them anywhere.
  14. you can see how its bending on the video... Its simply too large. But I will wait with my final judgement for the reviews. I was halfway to buy nowdays overpriced NC (2017) along with NCG. But now I am holding off.
  15. And thats the thing I hate / will hate if its true (no ladder/elevator). Original NC was most completed, with everything you need to travell between the floors. This is nice colorful, not sturdy (as far as i can see) mismatch of something... Its appearence is trully collosal and grand. At first glance it looks nice, but after designers video, I am slowly starting to go from "must buy" to "meh".
  16. Still no clue how can figs go from ground Old city level to the Street level. No stairs/ladder/lift? So its depended on original Ninjago city lift or what? So far its confusing. Since they showed us NC (2017) I hope that there will be re-release. Its clear that this is not standalone set, it cant work like that.
  17. Its quite weird in general... last couple of bigger sets was interestingly promoted by leaks that was leaked by Tlg themselves. Really strange PR strategy...
  18. So NCG is already listed in our lego web pages (Czechia) :) Interesting full HD pics... https://www.lego.com/cs-cz/product/ninjago-city-gardens-71741
  19. Sooo... no rumors or closer info regarding upcomming HP sets? Especially Gringotts or possible DA extensions? :)
  20. And I thought that I have a missing parts (e.g. black pins) in my set. I did search for them through all bags and on the floor in case and never found them. Then I check inventory list at tje end of instructions and find out only 2 pins were included. Both used in different part of the build. Its strange... but as Mark Psiaki said a while before, one of the significant sign of the modular buildings is the 32x32 baseplate. If Lego decides to switch to the plate system rather than baseplate, I would expect 32 x 32 plate. Still I hope that they maintain baseplates. I consider them better.
  21. Perhaps. But I think that future extensions depends on popularity of actual set(s). I just hope that there might be possibility to re release old ones as well. For wxample I would buy NCG if I had previous two. If lego make re-release I would buy all of them at once. And I believe that I am not the only one...
  22. Interesting note from Ashnflash... since Lego advertise the old retired sets as “you can connect NCG to other sets” there might be chance that these previous sets cozld be re-released and maybe slightly moded (box art, exclusion of shark army figs etc) like those Ideas sets. It wozld make sense. Fingers crossed.
  23. Same for me. Beside that I have limited space :/ I think that black box would be more suitable.
  24. I think that School, Museum and or grocery store should be prior. ;)
