    For some he surely did waste potential of this set. For others not. In the end, Lego is alive because of its fans and buyers. Isnt it buyers / customers right to share criticism when they are not satisfied with the result / product? See Apple, how often they get harsh backlash for their products (battery life, outdated design etc.) Do they complain publicly? Marcos surely did an excelent job in his designs so far. He isnt acused of being bad designer or that the final product is not cool enough. Fans just expected something different (and it was discussed for a long time here on EB). It is 500 dollar set. Mamy fans want nice and acurate looking / complete HE. They (we) got this. I will not pitty Marcos just because he got critisised. Thats life. He can surely handle it.

    I think that even slight print for pockets or whatever would make more sense to the riddiculous price. I agree that some of the comments are kimda childish, but overall (as I participate as well) I dont like the way Marcos try to explain. Its not explanation its just pure arrogance. I like many of his designs even though they are not intricate or using special techniques comparing to Mike Psiaki or Jaimie Berrard… He came up with some idea for HE and regardles what fans wozld prefer he decided to make it the way he did. The result is nice, cool and detailed, but not compatible with anything which makes it just expensive plastic display piece with no other use. Time will tell whether this set finds its popularity or not… The 2018 HE is a trash for AFOL. Its obviously ment to be for kids and play. Its just illogical to make the same train how many times? 4x? Besides newer parts the shape and size is the same. That is just boring. This newest HE could be easily 8 or even 10 studs wide and still fitting the track system and the scale of other sets such as DA for example…But no… this would make fans like me (and I am sure enough that I am not alone) unnecessarily happy :)

    Its 10 studs (or more) wide and tracks are 8 studs wide. So hardly fits on existing track system. Compared to the minifigs and other buildings which you might have its ridiculously large... As standalone display set - I guess its ok.

    And thats the beauty of it… none of those castles of old includes a specific king figure… Black monarch castle, Black knights castle, Lion kings castle or That Black Falcon fortress… its always some knight with a small cape or a plume in different colour. And thats it. The rest is on our imagination… I remember that back in early 90´s I always made my own Castle lord or a king. Usually it was the best of my knights, in full armour, on horse with barding and a big flag on spear… Personally I didnt like that chrome crown piece from 1995 Royal Knights theme. It was weird for me. Like a crown and helmet in once but weird… :) Now there is enough pieces on market that enyone can make his or hers own king or lady or whatever :)

    I get both points of view in terms of scale… I plan to have it on shelf and in time make a display. Blacksmith is little bit out of scale compare to the castle but its not a problem for me. i have 2 blacksmiths (one sealed) and I plan to have them both as a base of small village…(second blacksmith will be probably moded to a tavern). This castle set regardless how complex and big it is, is (in my world) just a small keep, so its ok for me :)

    I would like to see Lego continue with this promising start, releasing most desired “historical” themes, such as pirates, castle, or even western and so on… in terms of castle theme, it would be nice to release some other sets (it doesnt need to be re-releases or remakes of old sets from 80-90s) including these “new” updated knights, forestmen etc. I would like to see more village-life, maybe small siege machines, outposts, or just vagons with treasure, perhaps with updated wolfpack faction, small boat/ship and others. I think this could be the way to make follow up to the Lion knights Castle. Tbh I feel that Lego focuses too much on licensed themes depicting heroes and stories from DC, Marvel, Harry Potter… so it would be nice to have some original theme which is not based specifically on current franchise…

    First two of named castles are trully great and by far excelent both in scope of layout, and overall shape, but the third one is big meh for me. Still these are also “dollhause” style. I like the fact that the Lego 90 Anniversary Castle is coherent and when closed, its compact in terms of individual rooms and halls… When opened its highly playable, when closed its perfect display piece. Also there are stairs, ladders and pathways to every room. Only exception Incan see is that massive gatehouse tower, since there is no ladder to the top most floor. As a long term lego collector and afol, I understand those choices Lego has made. These castles submitted via Ideas/Cusoo are fan MOCs. These cant be compared to the finished set that have to follow some rules in terms of stability, playability, features etc…

    People will always complain about something. There is no perfect match to satisfy everyones taste…

    I hope that all decorated elements are prints. Lego knows how afols feel about stickers and making such valuable and desited pieces stickers would be big let down even just from the price perspective. There arent many unique torsos, if I count correctly its just lion knight, queen, maid and farmer. Others are just reuse. Majisto is plain blue…weapons are also reuse, there is only one newish sword. Horses are reuse, only bardings are new… so stickered shields would be HUGE dissapointment.

    If u get it then there is no “still” :) Its meant to be Anniversary set with throwback to multiple sets and designs of old.

    Its shame though that all of the forestman and forestwoman share the same torso and same green hat. More diversiry would be welcomed… brown hat, different colour of that collar thing…

    In total 9 civil figs… I think thats more than generous :) Even though their torsos are reused mostly from existing sets… Is it me or Majisto is without any printing?
