REVIEW: 71741 Ninjago City Gardens
Blazej_Holen replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
So we can get a straight one right? For example Borg tower... :) I am a bit confused, with this "line". Its not official line. Started with two Ninjago movie chunks, then TLG realize that Ninjago movie wasnt as much succesfull as they possibly hoped, so they discontinued that sub-theme. And now, once the previous sets are retired and hard to find on secondary market for ridiculous money, they came up (3 yrs later) with third add on branded as Aniversary/Legendary set. Does it mean its only one of set, with benefit to be connected to previous ones, or can we expect another add ons, and possible regular Ninjago city line? -

I am sorry to interrupt discussion about golden Nya and Zane :) I was just curious now, when we get Ninjago city Gardens, third set to the Ninjago city "line" and first of the "Ninjago Legacy line"...do you think that its just "one of" with benefit to be connected to the Ninjago movie predecessors or is there real hope for another Ninjago city add on next year? For example Borg Tower or whatever... From the interview with designers and from the Designers video as well I understand that there is strong chance to continue with this line, but not sure if on yearly basis or...? -

Thats my main question... I had NC back in 2017 and then I sell my whole Ninjago sets to get space. Now I kinda regret that move. I did liked NC but back then I had a problems with those small timy rooms just for two minifigs (beside Crab shack and Fashion store...) I do like DA but I hate those open backs. But it fits my city / street nicely. Now I am just split in two halfs. One of them want the NC and the new NCG, the other one dont want to spend such money on those and want to keep DA just for Gringotts and other possible add ons. So my question is also what do you guys prefer more - DA or NC? From the build, design, playabillity and overal look perspective... Something tells me that one day DA would cost all the money... -

Little off topic: I have great oportunity to get original NC sealed for quite afordable price (450 USD). BUT i have limited shelf spce and also budget. So I am in the middle of deciding wheter to get NC and in future NCG but sell Diagon Alley set to get more space and of course money ;) opinions? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Blazej_Holen replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
In Europe its quite normal to have school among the regular buildings with shops, pastries etc, e.g. within the street. We are talking about school for regular kids (like elementary one) not a university campus :) So I cant see any reason why modular school could be inappropriate or not "fitting in" among other modulars we have. Similar with hospital. It could be a rather clinic than a big "General Hospital" with only few departments, and an ambulance. Post office is not that important as well as toy shop. But I would definitely like to have them eventually as well. -

I would definitely pick these: 1. TV News station (+ perhaps journalists office) 2. Museum 3. School 4. Libeary / Vinil store -
LEGO IDEAS - The Medieval Blacksmith
Blazej_Holen replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Quite interesting assumption :) I dont mind that Husky as much as I mind some flaws for example in recent Ninjago D2C set. I dont know whether Lego have a mould for a goat or if that mould is old and discarded. If that 2nd option is true, I can fully understand why they exclude goat as a fig in the set. All in all I am buying it mainly for the build not for the animals included. I agree that husky is out of place, but it not ruining the value of the set for me. I would rather had a different and more accurate dog or that goat or second horse or whatever, but I can live with what I get. In this case. Of course there are some other minor flaws but I can oversee them :) -

Speedbuild video: Review: -
Thats really great and nicely executed solution @koalayummies :) I fix my problem with the "boards) by just putting there a little piece of paper between the board and car door, so it holds stiff and nice. But this is great and purist way how to mod the car... Thumbs up!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Blazej_Holen replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
So Medieval Blacksmith is basically its a modular building from medieval times :) 2100 + pcs for 149 USD its a not bad deal. Back in a time modulars cost that price with similar amount of pieces, but definitely lacking such details. So for me its a one big YES and DAY 1 purchase. I will put it on 32x32 baseplate and create pavement to fit this among my existing modular street. And next to MB I probably put Spring lantern festival :) I am looking forvard to it... Designers video for upcoming Medieval Blacksmith (little of topic, but I think it belong here partially): -

Based on your observation? Or where does it came from? Like "unsatisfied fan/fan with reservations/critique = fan who thinks that he/she is entitled to do it since he/she dont get what he/she wants" right? I am not sure about others, but have I said anywhere that this set "sucks"? Regarding the Medieval Blacskmith, I absolutly adore that set (only little complaint was about exclusion of traditional breastplate, but maybe it will be there after all). I think that its beautiful reasonably scaled down most probably complete set for again reasonable price. BUT! I understand to those, who expected some things that were included in original design. Such as goat. Or hens... Yeah its not logical to have husky in such a set, but, I can easily put this fig of and replace it with something different or with nothing at all. Husky has nice mold so I can use him elsewhere. But at the same time I accept right of others to do their "bitching". Because why not? :) Is there something that offends you personally (criticizing Lego and their stuff)? Thats is what I was talking about all day long :) Just this. Confusion. Thx. for being emphatic :) -

LEGO Ninjago 2021

I will not argue with you, its a never-ending story. U compare incomparable. My point is not to convince all of you "worshipers" but just to state that even though that its a 10th anniversary D2C huge, enormous, Ninjago city thir add on set, it still have flaws while other previous NC sets dont, and I dont get why. Thats it. By worshipers I ment that you guys (not you specifically) are acting like u have blindfold on your eyes, not able to see anything but "best, great, perfect, splendid, outstanding..." etc. on it. Its not a mockery. If you consider it as a mocking, then sorry. It just explains your total adoration of the new set. I for one, am a big Lego enthusiast and fan (and Ninjago especially), and normally I can forgive almost everything. But this is just neglected and missed opportunity to make a great set. Now its just "good/mediocre set for great value" (for me). And it bothers me especially since I love previous NC models, which are better (to me). If you allow me, I will end this part of discussion, because its a waste of time and we are turning in circles. Once again I respect your opinions even though I disagree with most of your arguments. At the same time I will keep my opinion. -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Blazej_Holen replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh gosh, is this some king of cult of a NCG set worshipers or what? Its becoming an obssesion :D Just a few responds to your arguments: 1) "Logic is, they're ninjas. They figure out their own way. Logic is, adults will display it and thus, the requirement of a ladder to every room is irrelevant because the display value is in the details of the buildings and interiors and overall aesthetic of the exterior. A missing ladder here or there doesn't take away anything from it." Oh really? So what about ordinary citizens? Isnt it a CITY? Not a NINJA fortress right? :) Its nice to have details such as a hidden plumbing and other small "surprises" but accessibility is far more bigger deal than you might think. And you cant compare it to the modulars and their missing toilets. As I recall all three NC sets share only ONE toilet. I never saw a modular without stairs. At the same time you could say, they are closed, and just standing on the shelves...right? But still they have stairs. How so? ('cause multiple levels in a city without access is just lame). 2) "Logic is, as an adult, you'd understand that it's better to have a beautiful looking pagoda than some boring pointless stairs. As a kid, you *gasp* use your imagination to get them to the 'inaccessible' areas... " Explain me please this "logic"? What logic is there? Its more of a subjective feeling than logical fact. 3) "Logic is, kids that do play with this set, as mentioned by guyin, will just hop the characters to the floors with no direct access, or make them ninja flip to it." I mentioned that as well. Nobody bothered to answer the question why previous NC sets designers bothers with such a think, when its logical not to put a stairs or boring lift there? All in all, as i said (wrote), I consider that set as a beautiful nice assortment of parts mish-mashed together, which creates something representable on a shelf. I think for kids and minors it will be nice for play (but at the same time annoying to attach or dismantle separate floors all the time to get inside). Overal aesthetics is cool. But please do not force me to accept your "logic" as I am not forcing you to accept my critique. This is certainly not a forum for Lego worshipers (only positive comments are allowed), but rather for fans both KFOLS and AFOLS to discuss their opinions or exchange info about Lego and their sets. I am sorry If you feel offended by me and those who raised some critique. :) Maybe next add on will be better (I already heard that NC and NCD might be re released, so perhaps then this set would make more sense). -

Any reason to be personal? Or why you overreact so much? Its almost like u did the set and the critique is on you ? Calm down. Everyone here has a right to say his/her opinion even though you dont like it. And if you havent noticed this “bitching” are just replies to other members. EDIT: I have every right to "bitch" about Lego sets, since I am the customer. I am paying for those, so I can critique them as anybody else can. :) -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Blazej_Holen replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
No. Every floor and place in NC and NCD is accesible. And it took nothing from overall design. Instead of making small pagoda or whatever they (designer) could pay more effort on logic. Its clear that he doesnt put enough thoughts to the set as was put by design team to the original two sets before. This is not only for kids you know ? How many kids can effort such a big and expensive set? Many of the easter eggs are ment for AFOLs or true Ninjago fans. Small kids will probably never notice them. Anyway its funny how many people here just protecting and defending the set without any critique. Just pure consumers... More, more, more, we will take whatever you (Lego) serve...lol. If u like it, I respect it and wish you good times with it. Enjoy the build, enjoy the set and be happy. :) -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Blazej_Holen replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
True. BUT! Every previous NC itteration has access to every place. Why this one doesnt? Its not “nitpicky complaint”. For the set as large and as expensive like this I would wxpect some complexity and well thought design. Not just shiny new colours and pieces. -
