Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Blazej_Holen replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Depends on how you perceive the word "collecting" :) The first Great Hall is not ultimate set by any means. Compared to the other ones, sure it is. But overall..."meh" Its far from "accurate" and the Great Tower is a big joke. Lego is mainly for kids (of course not necessarily, last years TLG is focused on AFOLS as well, I know)... the value of Lego is in the building, "mocing" and playing. It supports creativity and fantasy... so I would much appreciate, if sets, that I missed out, will be recreated at some point, especially in themes, that are popular among its customers. I strongly disagree with the last sentences you wrote. HP (or any other theme) is for every fan, whether its "our generation" or not. My kids grew up with it (and still growing up) and they are 5 and 7 yrs old. Maybe their kids will also grow up with HP. Or maybe Narnia, or LotR. Who knows. So its up to them (and market) whether they prefer Marvel "or some other stuff" or HP :) Howk. -

Any relevant objective reason why not? It's not necessary to complete all of it, and if it's for you, then better safe your money :) Every year there are more and more KFOLS who loves HP and the whole story, why don't give them the opportunity to buy and perhaps collect this theme? Btw we have two Great Hall iterations (minifig compatible) since 2018. Both of them a bit unfinished..I would like to get proper GH in upcoming years... -

Everything is open… endless possibilities ;) But I guess that next year we will get year 3 (PoA) and maybe 4 (GoF)… previous line 2018-2020 seems to be concluded. Sadly… So TLG will probably continue in this new “boxy” design for another Hogwarts segments or they will start fresh… My only hope is to get Gringotts and possibly some other DA shops such as Borgin and Burke and maybe new Hagrid´s hut (hopefully with better finish than the last one, and of course proper Hogwarts express (like 1200 pieces + with min. 2 passenger cars). And maybe, maybe some kind of Ministry of Magic and Malfoy Manor.. but this lineup contains many D2C sets, otherwise it would be crappy… -

Second task yould be great but, not as D2C. Otherwise I can see similar set to the Battle on Hoth (SW) aka several smaller separate sets, such as Durmstrang Ship (standalone), Underwater build (standalone set) and piers (standalone set)... Diagon Alley expansion makes much more sense... Gringotts, Borgin and Burke, some shop (Madame Malkin's or Owl emporium etc.) and Leaky Cauldron. This would be equally (or more) appealing as the original DA set, and there could be some interesting figs as well (2-3 Goblins, Belatrix/Hermione, Ron/Deatheater, Harry with an invisible cloak, Mr. Borgin, Some other named deatheaters, some Hogwarts students, Madame Malkin, Rita Skeeter and more. This way, we can et complete (on Lego measures) Alley, with all important places, with many never-before released figs or their ittirations. -

I am still on the edge about whether to buy Daily Bugle or Ninjago City Gardens. It's the same price range, and I have a budget only for one of those sets. What would you suggest? NCG have more pieces and the design is more interesting and variable, but it doesn't fit as much to my city (not without deep modding of the landscape) as Daily Bugle. DB is rather more plain, repetitive and straightforward build, but it's more suitable for the city. It has more figs and some interesting interior details that are playable (NCG has small interiors that are badly visible). What do you think? Any suggestions? :) -

So far, I dont like most of the figs... I know that maybe I will become unpopular with that opinion, but most of the figs are not unique in terms of their torso or other parts. Some of them are really lame (Taxi driver, Daredevill, Spider ghost...). In set like this I would like to see maybe less figs but more unique in terms of prints and parts. But I get it that this is ultimate set with as much heroes or antiheroes as possible :) -

It doesnt look like a folding style to me. But I might be wrong... detachable floors would be better, since its really tall to make one wall open... -

If its modular compatible it would make quite interesting skyline...many city builders wanted some skyscraper or something "newish" and "tall"..there they go at least :) -

I think that there is some resemblance to this building. The set is just more thin / narrow, than this. But the facade looks similar. .. -

On a different note..do you think its modular (detachable floor) or dollhouse style (like Ghostbusters HQ)? And do you think that there will be elevator inside since its that tall? -

I hoped for something like this... (https://donttellharry.com/2021/02/04/what-building-was-used-for-the-daily-bugle-in-the-spider-man-movies/) Lets wait for HD pics. Till that time I am really dissapointed. -

I really hope that this is a fake "leak" from some enthusiast... otherwise Lego just lost my 300 USD. My first honest reaction was "wtf"?! -

Someone said (a long time ago) that based on the rumour it should be like a modular building (4 walls, detachable floors etc.)...So I am hoping for a New York-style modular with a bunch of superheroes :) -

Honestly, I was pretty excited when I heard that the new Infinity saga wave will be coming this summer. But seeing the photos now, I am quite disappointed. Even from the figures. I kinda like Iron Man and Thor, but that's it. New Thanos looks ugly and "toyish" (I know Lego is a toy...), and the sets are not appealing as I would like them to be. The only nice surprise is Benatar,. I saw only one picture it from the front, so I will keep my final thoughts after more pics came up, but since I don't have the previous version, I am most likely to get it. I am still on the edge with the Iron Monger set, but I guess I will just bricklink the new version of Mk. III Iron man and maybe Obediah. Overall not as great as it could be. More mature, sure, but still not appealing (for me). I am looking forward to the Daily Bugle set, hope that it will be great. At least I will save some money for HP Hogsmead and the new Friends apartments set :) -

I am also disappointed by that, but in the end, I believe, that most of the fans will be satisfied. Before we get those clear had pics of HP summer wave, almost everyone was bitching about it, how bad decision TLG made ..but now? Everyone is excited and thrilled to get the sets... (at least the vast majority here). So I wouldnt be so sceptical :) Anyway, the sets look good. For kids as playsets, they work for 120% Main question (for me at least) is, whether TLG made some add ons in the next wave(s) or is it only one-off? I am a bit confused by the inclusion of the places from 1st and 2nd movie. Perhaps there will be other sets, depicting for instance Snape's classroom (we get only golden snape so far in these "newish" sets), a mirror of Erised room, a room with flying keys etc. Personally, I will buy Hogsmeade and a chess set for now. With the rest, I will wait for the next year rumours/leaks, and also I need to save some budget for Superheroes D2C :) Where did he said that? Youtube? Can you post a link? Anyway, does it means, that there wont be any add ons to the previous castle instalments (so Astronomy tower will be the last one) and from now on, they will be continuing in this style? -
Tje set is surprisingly good considering the Ideas submission which was terrible. But still that tree is not good looking. More branches and greenery... overall its not 100 USD value. Rather 70-80 top. Hope that this winter, Home aalone set will be available ;)

If 250$ set will be motorized Hogwarts express in minifig scale with lets say 2 passanger cars I will take it :) Thats what I am waiting for besides Gringotts to complement my DA. A proper Hogwarts train with details and more cars :) fingers crossed... -

I know that HP is mainly a kids theme, but since the 2018 revamp was announced I prayed for more realistic modular style sets. We kinda get those even though Indont like them much after all. This is step back from my taste but understand that for kids and as a playsets these are just great. -

Total disappointment. Only Hogsmead looks promising, but I am still careful. I heard some rumours, that additional august wave of "modern sets" will be also disappointing and that D2C wont be Gringotts after all. So, I am slowly becoming frustrated... -
