  1. See In the source window you can select several parts (click then ctrl+click) or range of parts (click then shift click) even if they are hidden by other bricks.
  2. Guess you mean MLCad ;) OK, know why.... the file was made with SR3D builder and contains a lot of group statement that MLCad doesn't like. Edit the file and remove all "0 GROUP -1" lines and it will load fine! (a long time indeed, as was the time I needed to make the relation between nickname and guy behind ;)
  3. At the moment, LDCad is missing area selection and connected selection. You have to control+click on all parts you want to select (if by chance you simply want to select everything, ctrl+A works...). Otherwise, it may be easier to make the selection in a source window (requires LDCad 1.5 beta)
  4. No problem with the file, just random characters on 1st line (UTF8 BOM) that should be cheerfully ignored by most LDraw viewers and editors
  5. Hence the need of providing the two modes ;)
  6. Just for the record, it's 'SPN' (spin), not 'SPL'. Absolutely. I feel crippled in SPN mode that just prevents me to make some movements and I feel tackball mode much more intuitive (same click+drag for all rotations I want to perform).
  7. ...and you can count on me if you miss a LDraw part!
  8. Christmas Train - Limited Edition 2015 Holiday Set Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: None Done with LDCad 1.5 beta2.
  9. Filter find parts only in the bin you are currently working with, it won't find say a Technic axle if you have opened the bricks category... If you want to search a part in the whole library, you have to use the search tool, located in top level bins. Its mascot is a minifig with magnifier in hand.
  10. 42042 - Crawler Crane B-model (Tower Crane) - Technic 2015 Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: Missing Stickers Done with LDCad 1.5 Beta 1.
  11. 42042 - Crawler Crane (Technic 2015) Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: Missing Stickers Done with LDCad 1.5 Beta 1. Edit: MPD file updated to correct the swapped colors of the turntable...
  12. Your comment on LeoCad seems strange to me since it (now) uses the same library as other LDraw editors. Could you tell me a few parts that seem missing? Edit: Just read your other post...
  13. Color in MLCad and LDView is defined in file LDConfig.ldr located in your LDraw folder. Colors are defined this way: 0 !COLOUR Black CODE 0 VALUE #05131D EDGE #595959 where VALUE defines brick color and EDGE line color, both in hexadecimal RRGGBB format. For example, changing (with a text editor) this line to 0 !COLOUR Black CODE 0 VALUE #303030 EDGE #a0a0a0 will provide very dark grey brick and very light grey edge lines. That's a tricky question anyway... Even LEGO often manage to make BIs where it's difficult to decide between black and dark grey! You may also thicken LDView lines (Edit ->Preferences->Geometry->Thickness), especially if you use high image resolution: thickness is defined in pixel units, making them relatively thinner in large images.
  14. 42040 - Fire Plane - Technic 2015 Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: Missing Stickers Done with LDCad 1.5 Alpha 4.
  15. 4010 - Police Rescue Boat [boats] Download MPD (OMR compliant) Known errors: None Done with LDCad 1.5alpha4.
  16. Hi Maico, Congratulations for your BIs! Maybe you could link to one of your videos at proper start time to show this module in action?
  17. ...was thinking about the noisy scans you have... do you do some surface preparation before scanning? my laser scanner has a tough time with shiny ABS, giving also noisy scans. After trying various kinds of preparation (eg. spraying with chalk paint - but this smudges fine details), I finally settled on talcum powder. I dip the part in talcum, then blow away any excess. This just lives a fine layer (barely visible) of white powder that nicely scatters laser beam and provides much better scans. This is also useful when scanning patterned parts where black areas reflect much less light than clear ones. Now maybe your scanner (though laser based too) uses different principles, and this doesn't apply!
  18. Nice little thing! And one of these days I'll get through Blender "frustration of the interface" that has prevented me from using it so far. For sculpting I use Meshmixer (also free tool) which I find a delight to use (probably because I'm used to it since its early versions...) but it lacks a retopo tool. As for the Simpson heads, I guess you could convert back my own LDraw ones?
  19. Excellent! Could you detail a bit more the tools used (scanner, sculpting and retopo software)?
  20. Maybe you should try the regular motorcycle tires? Different rubber / stiffness / diameter might help (or not!!!)
  21. According to your screen shot, your ldraw library is located in C:\Program Files(x86)\LDCad\ldraw. In this place you should then find a 'parts' folder (with parts), itself containing a 's' folder (with subparts). It should also have a 'p' folder containing the primitives, itself containing a '48' folder with high res. primitives.
  22. Interesting project, rendered two models flawlessly!
  23. Mmhhh.... I've seen finished BIs that looked worse than this draft ;) Alexander asked for the smooth tire on LDraw forum, here it is: http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/6596.dat
  24. See http://forums.ldraw.org/read.php?11,16872,16885#msg-16885 and following post. Might solve your problem...
  25. I confirm, adding text works in LPub3D.
