Location: E02 (Jurin II) Tags: Spying, Water Vehicle Previously, Supervising Accountant Laszlowe and Scorpio were interrogating a prisoner taken by MANTIS long ago, when Scorpio made a startling discovery. **************** Lots of story below, build at the very bottom **************** Onboard the MANTIS ship, still in Ertauq's atmosphere... Arsenica?! How...? Where...? I thought you were dead. Dead, huh? Would that have helped you sleep better at night? All those years I looked up to you, relied on you, and then... ...I'm going to, uh...get a bite to eat...yeah, some larvae. Anyone else? No. Great, I'll just uh...see myself out... You left. Of course I left! You know how I couldn't stand it at home, with the drunken rage and all that. The academy was the only chance I had to escape. Yet you left me there! Do you think I wanted to stay? I hated living with him as much as you did! Whatever. If he ever happened to be sober all he could do was go on and on about how perfect you were! I don't think he ever even hit you... Shut up! You have no idea how much hell I had to endure after you left! ... No idea... That scar...you never had that before. He did that, didn't he. Yeah. ... The academy may have been your ticket out, but you were supposed to be mine. You told me so! We made plans of getting out, of getting on without him looming over us! You would go off to school and take me with you. And then you left... Arsenica... look, I'm really... You know what, Scorpio, I don't even care any more. I don't even care. To lie, cheat, and steal, I even joined a band of pirates for awhile, but you know what? When it comes right down to it I'm glad for it. I just wish you hadn't abandoned me. I suppose that's one thing I picked up from training with Kawashita: even though the glory and honor crap never meant much to me, Raven helped me learn the value of loyalty. Look Arsenica, I never... **************** Scorpio, you have an urgent message from CEO SpacerSteve. Leave this to me, I'll handle the interrogation from here. Right now? But I can't leave! You have to--apparently this is another one of those missions that just can't wait. Don't worry, she'll be locked safely behind these same bars when you get back. You're not going to let her out?! Of course not. She is a dangerous prisoner! She is my sister! And, must I remind you, a Kawa spy! But... No more protests! Just go do this stupid mission and try not to get yourself killed! **************** You are clever, I'll give you that. You almost had me convinced to set you free. ...what? how did you..? You don't think I would actually leave this whole interrogation up to that incompetent ninny, did you? I have been listening the whole time. Don't think I missed that bit about your loyalty! Raven invests a lot in her agents, and I highly doubt you would turn your back on her so easily! ... I know I am right. You think so, but you're wrong. Even though I have spent years hating him, we are still family. Besides, Kawashita tried to have me killed, remember? But he did leave you behind, so where does your loyalty lie? With him and M.A.N.T.I.S.? or with Raven and the Kawas? ... Tell me! ... Ha! You talk big about how much you don't believe in Honor, yet you can't bring yourself to speak even a word against your old master because of your loyalty. I give you credit for that. Guards, take her back to cellblock B! **************** You have an urgent mission for me, sir? Uh...what, no. Oh. Laszlowe said... Oh well, since you're already here I guess we could use you for phase one of the operation down on Jurin II. Ok. Just tell me what to do...and exactly how to do it. We need you to do something involving gathering information about another faction, hacking their computers, or sabotaging their equipment. Oh, and if you could use a land vehicle in a significant way that would be a huge plus. Can do. Oh, and Scorpio? Sir? Try not to get killed out there, okay? **************** Later, on Jurin II... So what are we supposed to do, again? Use this water vehicle to spy on Octan. They have a refueling station built on a platform out here in the ocean, and SpacerSteve has been tracking two Penetrator-class vessels, but they dropped out of orbit. We figure they are coming to refuel here, so we wait for them until they take off and then give him the signal. That should give him just enough time to intercept them as they break free of Jurin II's atmosphere. Coordinates up ahead, we should be getting close. There it is! So now we just wait here for these ships to show up? What if someone spots us and tries to attack us? This boat doesn't have much firepower... We'll be fine. In a few minutes the ships will show up, take off, and we'll be on our way back to base. What are you doing? Texting? I thought I'd write a message while we're waiting. Message? Message for what? A message for...oh wait! There they are! We have visual on the Penetrators, they should be docking soon. The ships are docked and refueling now. Only another couple of minutes... The Octan ships are away, and headed back up to orbit. Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's log 30: With Octan's Fleet safely at bay, I was sent to cause some setbacks for Octan who thinks it can out-smart MANTIS and push into its newfound territory. I made defiant paths of foliage destruction and toppled Octan communication towers. Any guards were temporarily immobilized by my shock gun, and when they awake a few hours later, they will find their equipment destroyed. Share the Awesomnium planets. Okay, let's do that. Guess Jurin II wasn't part of the plan, and now Octan has declared open war on MANTIS. Let them come, let them try, let them see the power of MANTIS. Sure, I was outnumbered this mission, but that's no matter, MANTIS has the best spies around, and our new tech makes us more deadly than ever. Our cloaking devices are strong, and I can practically walk up to an Octan tower without being picked up by their radars. ~ DD out

Sir, you have an incoming assignment. Details? You are to depart immediately for Freegate, yourself. Do not send another operative. ♫I don't know where I'm goin' But I sure know where I've been ♫ Bass. Shut Up. Even if I was going to say "Here I go again" about this assignment. ♪ Hanging on the promises in songs of yesterday ♪ *Attempted Slam of a sliding door* Out in the field, new ship, big guns, and behind enemy lines. I'm driving it in now sir! You built a MEGA BLOCKING UNICYCLE! AAAAAAAAARGH! I'll just do this myself. Off to Jurin II I go. On Jurin II There's my target. One large Octan mining platform, with a docked ore carrier, and a patrol boat just for extra fun. And I have an actually useful vehicle with this hoverboard. Let's plant some charges! And skedaddle before that patrol boat comes back around. I'm in the clear! First the patrol boat and Ore Hauler... *Slightly Distant Explosion* And Now the big one... 3... 2... 1... BOOM! If you’re just joining us, we’re discussing the recent allegations that the wildly successful new line of Octan Mills diet products has stopped working, causing many to suffer dramatic weight gain. Dr Perkins, you claim that some of your patients have actually started to gain weight by eating these products? Yes, that’s right. They had all been losing weight by eating Octan diet products, but recently, despite no change in their eating habits, they’ve put on a significant amount of weight. They’re actually less healthy now than they were before they started losing weight in the first place! How strange. Leslie, what do you make of this? Dr Perkins, isn’t it true that medical science has no idea how the body works? No, that’s not been correct for hundreds of years. In fact there’s now almost nothing we don’t know about the human body- Almost nothing. So you admit that these people might simply be lying? Wait, what?? That’s not- Well, there you have it folks. Sounds like there’s really nothing to these malicious rumours. Next up, we take a look at the latest speech from Octan’s Pombe. Some are calling the Andromeda CEO’s speech the greatest in recorded history, while critics claim it’s merely the speech of the millennium. Location: E03 (Ertauq) Tags: Spying After scouting for the secret Octan base on Jurin II, Scorpio made a rendezvous with the MANTIS fleet in the neighboring planet's sector, Ertauq. He was finally going to close the chapter on that mysterious prisoner from months before. **************** It's about time Starstriker. Come on, let's go. We'll use the secure interrogation room. Since she managed to completely disarm one of our own agents, we have classified her as dangerous. Dangerous? I thought it turned out that the operative she took down was actually a Kawashita spy, something none of our own agents had discovered! That is immaterial, Starstriker. She is a threat and we must treat her accordingly. If I recall, your report stated that you thought she seemed familiar to you. She did seem familiar, but in a very distant way. I am not sure I have ever actually seen her before. I have tried since then to figure out where I might know her from, but I don't know. Well, have you thought that maybe you are familiar to her as well? Perhaps she has a grudge against you, and only wanted you here to try and find a way to kill you! As happy as that would make me, we can't have that kind of situation on our hands. Ah, here we are. **************** Prisoner No. 108457, in exchange for your cooperation in this interrogation, we have complied with your request and brought your original captor, S. Starstriker, to be present here today. Finally. Let's get on with your stupid interrogation. Urm, uh, right then. We will begin. What was your position at Octan? I never worked for Octan. I was on a long-term assignment from Kawashita to infiltrate Octan. Kawashita? So that's how you recognized and apprehended the spy in our midst. What was the nature of your mission there at Octan? My job was to go undercover and try and learn the secrets of Octan's high security coffee machine production. I broke into the Octan facility on Ertauq... ...swiped a key card... ...stole an operative's identity... ...and attempted to get myself promoted to upper-level permissions. However, I wasn't able to gain sufficient clearance for the coffee machine project, so Kawashita assigned me to infiltrate the missile defense and WMD research programs instead. ... ... What? Uh nothing. We'll follow up on the specifics of your mission later. The Kawashita spy you exposed here at MANTIS? I assume you had to stop her before she killed you, Kawashita didn't want you divulging any secrets? Yeah, Agent Sega was afraid I was going to spill my guts. Glory and honor and all that nonsense. She and I had trained under Agent Raven. Sega always bought into that kind of crap more than I did. For her, Kawashita was a way of life. And you? For me it was a paycheck. I have seen enough dishonor that it's hard for me to believe in any of it any more. Your boy Scorpio could probably tell you more about that, though. Huh? You still can't tell who I am? Figures. You always were dumb like that. You must have got that from dad, he was a moron, too. What the..? Arsenica? **************** Arsenica is a character I had been meaning to properly introduce since way back before I even officially joined AG, but for one reason or another it just never happened until now. Sorry for the lack of balance between story and build this week--lots to read, less to see. Sometimes that's just how it goes.

Location: E02, Jurin II Tags: Land Vehicle, Vehicle, Spying, Job: Driver Start Log: I was sent to the jungles of Jurin II to infiltrate an Octan compound, the jungle environment provided a perfect testing zone for one of the new MANTIS jeeps: The Octan outpost was protected by a laser fence, but some standard issue explosives took care of that quickly: The Jeep was quite fun to build, and the jungle path and landscape were a nice change from my recent snowy MOCs. The vehicle’s roll cage and doors open, and the winch works. See more pictures, here. Good to do another AG build

Location: F03 Forring Tags: MANTIS, spying, land vehicle Double D's log 29: Well, the first few spying school lectures were as boring as Professor Bland's monotone speech. The only thing good that came out of it so far was the opportunity to test out some more new vehicles! I called first dibs Unfortunately we aren't up to the big stuff yet, and I was assigned to go with a hover vehicle. I picked the fastest one. The tank was sort of like a tank, but it had less armor and a lot more speed. It's great for just running through some outdoor facility and blowing up a bunch of random equipment. Okay, it doesn't really explode stuff, because this weapon melts away (by this green fire stuff) what it hits because it fires a gooey substance with laser-cannon accuracy. Overall it takes longer to destroy something, but it does more damage because the goo seeps deep into the equipment. I was lucky enough to be sent on a real mission on Forring. The Lazer-Goo Hover Tank did its job well! Why it's spelled with a 'Z' is because it's not a real laser, so they went with the z when making the name. ~DD out

You told me to get everyone here and I did! Some of these clowns haven’t shown up to work in months – I don’t think I’ve seen Darjak since last Junali. You know as well as I do that they’d never have come if I told them they were getting a lecture by Professor Bland here. Professor Bond. That’s what I said. Sigh. Right, any other quick questions, or shall we get started? Yes, over there, Mr? Daring. Dave Daring. Uh, so I’ve been on dozens of special forces missions already – I’m like M.A.N.T.I.S’s top agent. The Council of Five wants everyone to have had the same training, so that everyone’s on the same page during missions. I spend my days in a loader, moving supplies in and out of spaceships and cargo craft. However, what I've always dreamed of being is a Pilot, flying through the outer reaches of the Galaxy. Location E02 Jurin II This is a rebuild of my first AG build "I Am So Lost..." Something feels different, I can't put my finger on it but it seems I am working for a corp named Mantis. Anyways, I am trying to source materials for this interesting company here on Jurin II. I sure hope I don't mess this up. I'll be using this ground seeking radar to find whatever it is a guy looks for. Maybe it is for finding dead reshirts. Nah....that wouldn't make any sense for me to be associated with redshirts.

Location: E02 (M.A.N.T.I.S. command ship, Jurin II orbit). Our forces are successfully driving Octan from the planet, but the moon is too heavily fortified. It’s going to take forever to get rid of them. Time is money, Steve. You need to find a way. Quickly. Y’know… I think with some small adjustments my new M.A.N.T.I.S.TM Doom Ray© could probably destroy a small moon… Absolutely not. That would be a PR nightmare. There’s no way we could get away with blowing up a moon full of Octan personnel, tempting though it is. What if it was an ‘accident’? We’d need someone incredibly gullible to pull that off. Hmmm… I had a meeting with HR earlier. There’s a certain pilot. We were going to have him ‘reassigned’ to Project Lambda, but I think he might be perfect for this… Later, on Jurin II: Ok, since your piloting license have been stripped due to "resounding incompetence", you've been assigned to a simple driving mission. Sigh, ok.. What should I do? Just drive this truck down from here, the main base on Jurin II, to the outpost in sector 4. What? This thing? What is it, a laser cement mixer? No, it's a M.A.N.T.I.S.TM Doom Ray© truck. It's a super powerful weapon, that's why it's needed in the outpost. Still looks like a cement mixer to me. Well, since you're surely not firing it, it may well be. Now move on! Yes sir! What is this button over here? Don't touch any button! I bet it will start mixing cement! Click! No! You armed the Doom Ray©! Ok ok, I'm closing it.. maybe it's this other button? Aaaahhh! Stop pushing buttons! In orbit: I’m just saying, when I was CEO, I didn’t flounce around wearing a cape and ribbons. You were only CEO because of a software bug! I don’t see how that’s relevant… Er, Sal? Yes? M204 Personnel Transport is designed to move troops and equipment short to moderate distances. The ship is powered by the M.A.N.T.I.S. LD400 triple frame awesomenium reactor with an upgraded hyperdrive sequencer and is equipped with heavy armor, advanced blaster shield tech and duel burst proton cannons. Capacity without cargo is 16 personnel and two pilots. Donnie Bricko is not happy about sitting in the middle. The ramps fold down and top and side sections come off to reveal the interior... Location: E02 Jurin II This is a rebuild of my third AG build: Mission Accomplished! Mission Log: Entry ??? ~ A beautiful, tropical plain, lush vegetation covering the ground as far as the eye could see. Towering pillars of rock and colossal mountains rising above the horizon, obscuring the view of the beaches and sea that fringed one of Jurin II's largest islands. But this paradise was short-lived.... A trail of smoke in the distance. A harsh, throaty laugh as the MANTIS Ravager-class speeder zoomed into view - nicknamed 'The Turtle' due to the huge front "flippers" which propelled the craft through the air. A tall figure garbed in the signature black and green of the MANTIS corporation slowed the speeder to a stop and leapt out. He surveyed his surroundings - ideal. A cruel smile on his face, he lifted a flamethrower down from the side of the speeder and loaded it. He pulled the trigger and the tropical plains around him drowned in leaping flames... In this struggle for domination, Octan could not be allowed to profit from or research the rare plants growing in this region. MANTIS scientists had taken their fill of specimens, and now they were making sure nobody else could steal that advantage. This is a re-build of my first AG build. Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo "Hurry up Ender!" shouted Valentine, his sister, "We need to finish transporting these crystals back to M.A.N.T.I.S. headquarters or else we're going to miss Larva Friday!" Ender and his sister had discovered rare strain of water crystals hidden in the most unlikely spot, under a lava flow channel. They were rushing to get them back to HQ, not just so they could get their grubs, but because a former Kawashita spy had defected and had offered M.A.N.T.I.S. valuable intel if they could provide him with certain materials. One of those items were these crystals. This defector, a Mr. Graver, could be quite valuable if M.A.N.T.I.S. ever needed to react against Kawashita. OoC: Hope you enjoyed! Here's another picture: -
Location: F03 - Forring Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, spying {MANTIS IntelLOG Entry XX-9946} {Encryption: High} {Priority: Urgent} [begin Log entry] Directive XX-9946 has us on back on Forring to check out any OCTAN facilities we can find and determine any apparent weaknesses. We've just hiked out of a dense forest in the tropical belt..... "Verdi, hand me the MANTIS™ RangeGlasses©...." "Ok....I see it....." Ved: "We're way too close.....We need to get to cover...." Verdi: *Crackling and scratching sounds....* Ved: "Well, I'm NOT made of leaves....I NEED to hide.....let's get back to the lander and use the MANTIS™ SVX-55 ReconBot....." Hrmmm, this isn't exactly the best view.... Let's deploy the W-3 Arial Drone.... Heading to the platform.... That's better, I can see one of those OCTAN labor droids loading something into a ship.... That pilot doesn't look OCTAN....he's yelling something at the technician.... What kind of what is he anyway...never seen one like that...... moving around for a better angle.... Wait.....what is that......adjusting.....damn these controls.... Moving in for a closer look..... Verdi....I'm not sure we were supposed to see this.....Yep, it's her alright..... Meeting with an OCTAN guy....and one of those Zoins...Zoids...Zoils...whatever....His antennae make me feel hungry.... Location: Jarin II (E02) Tags: spying It seemed like weeks--no, months--since Scorpio had last had a chance to do some real science. He was a scientist, after all, but M.A.N.T.I.S. and the Man Upstairs kept sending him on these spying missions. Even over Laszlowe's protests, here he was on Jarin II, conducting yet another spy job. He was sure all this spying would be the death of him. He was cruising low over Jarin's surface, skimming near some swampy islands. The Waterbug he was driving was not as fast as it looked, meaning he didn't stir up the water much as he went across it. This was good, because he was trying to listen hard for signs of a secret Octan base in the vicinity. Satellite imagery had caught traces of ships coming and going, but could not detect any signs on the ground. Suddenly he heard something over the scanner: "You want a cookie?" a man asked. "No way, man, I am so sick of cookies." another replied. "Suit youseff." came the response, through a mouthful of what was evidently cookie. Scorpio brought the engine down low and kept listening. "You know what else I am sick of? You sitting on your butt while I'm doing all the work here. Give me a hand with these lights, will ya? We were supposed to have them down 2 days ago" "Mmmf mm hmm hmm." The scanners had locked on to the direction of the conversation, and Scorpio began to move in slowly, coming over the edge of a grassy island until he could see the men in question. He secured the channel to the local M.A.N.T.I.S. HQ and called the incident in. "H.Q. this is Starstriker,I've found the location of our mystery base." "You can see the base? You have visual confirmation?" "Negative on the base; however I have visual on two Octan personnel with no transport in site. Looks like they must have walked here, and my scanners are picking up some indistinct signatures in the area. The base may be underground." "Excellent work, Starstriker. Have the Octans spotted you? What are they doing?" "Looks like they are taking down their Christmas decorations." "What? Ha! We put ours away two days ago! Ok, Starstriker, stay hidden and maintain surveillance. See if you can follow their moves back to their hidden base. We'll mark the location and put together a special ops team to infiltrate. Any thing else to add to the report for now?" Location: F03 - Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Exploration Back on Forring with a new assignment. There are several areas of the forest on this planet that have gone unexplored by M.A.N.T.I.S.. It's time to learn more about this planet. Several of us have been sent out in M.A.N.T.I.S. XT Core 7 Gorilla Exo Suits to navigate the dense forest areas. Several hours after departing I began to discover a path through the forest where many of the trees have been downed. As I followed the path I discovered a body dangling from one of the trees along the path. It appears that Octan has been exploring this area and are probably responsible for the pathway as the body is definitely human, and wearing an Octan uniform. I need to make note of the coordinates and report this back to HQ. - D

Location: F03 Forring Tags: MANTIS, spying Double D's log 28: I've been sent to Forring again, but this time to head inside a few of Octan's buildings to see if I could gather any information from their computers. Getting in was easy enough with Wheelie, my trusty robot. Once inside, I found an employee's computer that was still on, and from there I was able to find out Octan's next few planet targets...I downloaded the information to my device and zoomed out of there on the dragster that I tested out last week. ~ DD out

Ok, It's Episode Two-Thousand... That's enough! Show me the vehicle! May I present the M.A.N.T.I.S. Eighteen New Insectoid Numerous Black Legged All Country Krosser! All right, what's it do? Right now? Nothing. And what the Megablocks am I supposed to do with a vehicle that does nothing? You better not have Wasted a lot of time naming this vehicle so that the acronym spells Men In Black! Location: F03 Forring Tags: Spying, Land vehicle, -Stop here Chogg. This tree looks good. - Can’t we just go back home and eat? - No we have to get the cameras in the trees. Octan special forces have been caught trying to undermine our most secret bases in the past. We have to keep track of them so we know if try it again. – The last camera is up. Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: MANTIS, land vehicle Double D's log 27: After last weeks mirage, I seem to be mostly normal. I still can't remember what happened several weeks ago, but at least I don't think I'm seeing things. I get to test out a new, very fast, MANTIS vehicle - a dragster really. It can either be used as an escape vehicle, or transport materials across a landscape quickly.....that is, if the landscape is very flat....it doesn't turn well. One of my cousins was over and she had a school project to build a rubber band powered car. Of course, I had to quick build one from LEGO bricks! I spent more time on getting it to go far than making it look all fancy. There's always next time right? Unfortunately my cousin couldn't use LEGO bricks to build the car, but that didn't stop me from building one! There were several variables that affect how rubber band powered cars function that I hadn't really thought about till I started building this. After a bunch of tests and modifications, this sized dragster goes around 25 feet with 8 full rotations of the rubber band. The measuring tape in the video is set to 22 feet (~ 6.7 meters). If we had a longer hallway it would probably just pass 25 feet with the 8 rotations. I hope to do this again sometime in the future; it was a blast! Yeah yeah, the rubber band isn't LEGO, but if I were to use my LEGO rubber bands, they would have been ruined

Through the bespoke MANTIS™ Spyglass© in me daddles, I spy something on the horizon..... We seem to have a bang up to the elephant view of some sort of Kawashitian metropolis..... Ved: "But, Klaus....my dear fellow, it's several leagues across this sea from us...." Klaus: "Aye, guv'nor......I rekon my sighting is not up to dick...I've orf chump for swimming this day...."
