What Lego-related thing did you do today?

I am having plenty of time these days as I'm sick. As the updates in the fora I normally visit here on EB don't come often enough, I have visited other fora I normally don't visit. That is for example the reason I write in this thread

Which is Better, Mega Bloks or Kre-O?

Well... With the products they offer, I hardly can imagine I would buy anything from these two companies. Therefore I have not voted.

    Modulars with open-back?

Cool! Thanks for the update. It opens up for better views of all the great things Eurobrickers have to show

[LDD MOC] Modular Lund street house

I like this house, cja. It's nice and cozy. The studio is brilliant - though I wonder how on earth, they get the stone up there And I like the use of the good old 5 high door. The house reminds me of typical houses in provicial towns here in Denmark. I think it will word as inspiration for an older street with residential houses for my town.

    REVIEW: 6285 Black Sea's Barracuda

Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! You are one lucky pirate! I have all sets from 1989, but the - one and only - Black Sea's Barracuda. Even though, it brings up memories from the old boxes. The yellow Legoland borders, the front that could be opened - and the plastic tray containing the special bricks and the minifigs. Those were the times Thank you for the review, Pcvando. It is very nice with interesting pictures. The only thing, I think is missing are some pictures from the building proces - and how you felt building it. Regarding the cardboard game, it looks so familiar to me. I am not sure, I have got it, but I'm pretty sure I have seen it before. Does anyone know if it was included in some of the other big sets? - If it shows up amongst my things, I will let you know. Happy Anniversary! Not just the BSB, but the entire LEGO Pirates series. - From the dreams section: LEGO should release an anniversary box or two

    [MOC] Brooklyn Brownstones

Hi Esben, So you are the master behind this? I admired your layout at LEGO World. You really have got the American spirit in it. Thumbs up

    Modulars with open-back?

Thanks for showing, cja. It works very well, I would say. But you will have to use a smaller size of pictures, at a maximum of 800x600. You can read more about it here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71241#entry1320172

New pirates theme- what do you want?

If I were to choose, I would say something like... - A town/harbour/trade station like 6277 Imperial Trading Post with some civilian buildings, inn, shop, office - A merchant ship, doesn't necessarily have to be a big ship, maybe some kind of inter-island ship - Some smaller sets like watch tower, bastion, prison - sets you can put together to make a fortress - A similar series for the pirates, an inn, prision, cannon cove to make the pirates' nest.

    Favourite Castle Faction.

I had four factions as a child: The Lion Knights (Lion Crest/Crusaders), the Eagle Knights (Black Falcon), the Dragon Knights (Black Knights) and the Forestmen (which I don't remember what was called back then). My very first castle set was the 6023 Maiden's Cart, and I guess it might be the reason why the Lion Knights were my favourites. At least until I got 6085 Black Monarch's Castle, or Dragon Knights' Castle, as it was known to me. After that, it changed. Funny thing is, that the castle is called the Black Monarch's Castle, as there were no clearly marked monarch. To me, they were knights. Seldomly I had more royal people than the Maid who was queen. Since that time, it has been more difficult to remember all the factions. I have some newer ones, but they'll never compete with nostalgia

    Operation : Legoworld 2014 Octan

Very nice. Can't wait to see it - together with the bank - in Avalonia City

    Modulars with open-back?

Thank you all, for your answers, and thanks for the pictures, Paul B. Your building has a size and depth that are similar to the topic discussed here. So it also gives an impression what it could be like. I like to build classic-city, therefore I consider changing the modulars. And I also would like to make interiors. All of which speaks for open-back buildings. Or eventually hinged back walls. But that wouldn't fit the rest of the city - unless I change all buildings My currently only MOC building, the department store, is built 8 deep. I'm planning to make it deeper, probably 12 or 13 studs deep, to allow more interior. So an 8 deep modular will be too small for my needs, I think. It seems that both TH and GE would be around that deep as well, if back wall and parts of the side walls are removed where it seems logical to do so.

    Operation : Legoworld 2014 Octan

LT, do you still have got the highrise building in Avalonia City? I look forward to see an update on AC. And an Octan station is always nice to have (also after seeing The LEGO Movie ). I especially like the new way to put the red-green-white on the roof, that is next to each other in stead of on top of each other.

Hat Shop - Modular building built with vintage parts

I don't remember I have ever seen a frame fro the small shutters. I also just remember the hinges. But a good use of the shutters. All in all, you have done a good job on this house, Roger_Smith. It's nice to see old bricks can still be used. And in such a nice way

2014 CREATOR Houses Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yeah, these two buildings give mixed feelings. It's nice to have some town buildings, but there is something about them that makes the buildings not look quite finished. And the interior is not to cheer about. But hey, we are MOC'ers and MOD'ers! These buildings can provide us with some ideas and even more bricks. E.g. a bike, tools, a tap, new flower pot, an ATM, cashiers (though big ones...), drawers... I think I will buy it.

    Modulars with open-back?

Thanks for the link, TheBear. It's nice to see how a modular can look like with an open back. The hinged backs are also known from the normal Creator houses, brickgrrl. A good idea for play/playability, though it's not the way, I would like to go. The Town Hall is actually one of the buildings, I have got. I was wondering, if I could remove the backwall and the part of the building where the inside courtyard is - until the mezzanine. The elevator, I would leave untouched. I agree, HomerJSimpson, that the designers made the modulars to be only full-wall buildings. But it's here, MOD'ing is taking over Do you eventually have some pictures of the MOD'ed Pet Shop, cja? I would like to see, how you have done it.

    Steenstraat, my Lego street

You truly are a terrific MOC'er, alois. I just saw one of your older post with the mayor's house. There you told, you just got of of your dark ages. It was in 2010. When looking at Steenstraat, it's hard to believe that you ever had a dark age You really have an eye for architectural details. Your buildings are richly detailed, but the details never become instrusive, as they can on LEGO buildings. I really like the trams. Just a shame, they don't stop right in front of the railway station All in all, good you bumped this thread - it's always nice to see new developments in fellow Eurobrickers' layouts.

I need a bus for my City!

I can easily understand your wish to have a bus like this, Heppeng. The doors are cool, I wish LEGO would make doors like this. But it is possible to make doors working the same way, though they might not be quite as elegant as these. Wooootles, amongst others, has made a good solution, I think. - As I never would buy a clone brand, I would go for the solution Wooootles provides. I am considering changing the doors on my trams and bus to this technique (by time). And boy, it's a poor design, the gas station has. The exact same colours as Octan, though reversed couldn't they be just a tad more original with that, now they manage to make a good looking bus with smart doors?

    MOC - Piano cinema

Truly an original idea Dfenz. It looks even better in real life I'm happy I had the chance to see your MOCs (including Arnott's) at LEGO World in Copenhagen this Thursday. One thing is to see there in this forum, another is to see them right in front of you. - Just a shame, I missed the movie. But you can't be lucky all the time, can you?

My Lego City. A small layout for childs play

Hi Adamskii, thanks for sharing your layout. It's always nice to see some non-modular layouts. And you have got a good collection there. I also like your table - perfect for playing. It seems your town is a really safe place to live... Police and fire brigade right in the middle I know it would collide with the number/size of baseplates, but you should consider to make a hole from the ground level to the train level - to make a station. That would be cool.

My LEGO Town then and now

Hi keswandhana, and welcome to Eurobricks. It is really a lovely collection you have got of the classic 80s' LEGO. And nice additions of newer sets, too. It's good to hear that all of the family enjoys the bricks, though I think it can be hard to share As Lightningtiger, I would like to see more photos of your own creations. It's always interesting to see people's ideas.

2014 CREATOR Houses Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Boy, I'm good Thanks for sharing the picture, LT and Lazy Chicken. It's good to see some other angles of the buildings. I'm so curious regarding the interior now. Guess I'm not the only one EDIT: The ladder LT mentions actually continues on the first (second) floor up to the roof door.

2014 CREATOR Houses Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Nice additions to a classic style builder. Of course a little MODding is needed to make the buildings open-backed. I think the cafe building has some funny measures: 13 studs wide and 9 deep. And is it an ATM at the right side of the building? It looks like a mailbox and an 45 degrees roof brick on top of it. And a green brick further up. A bank note? I look forward to see more of the buildings. And to build them ;)

    MOC: 4wide water rescue unit

Impressive collection, you have got there Farnheim. Do you make the fire logos yourself?
  25. I loved this entry from the very first sight. It's a brilliant idea and that the train can "drive" does certainly not make the idea worse
