Hola, This is my third MOC in the Greylands story; depicting the gate between two districts. The hatch in the door both closes and opens. My goal was to also depict the differences between the two districts. I hope you'll enjoy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sounds of the dark-guards calling for the midnight hour broke Snips concentration. He looked up from his plans and gave a confirming nod to the papers. His first step was to visit an ally situated beneath the citadel wall. From there his journey would lead him alongside the district dividing wall until the gate in the middle. Passing through the Craft-District he had to pick up a package. A small lad received some copper to deliver the message to a craftsman, so he trusted the package would be ready. He enjoyed enough time between the sheets of many elite-woman so he knew the gate-keepers were susceptible to silver. Paying his entry into the districts would seem rather easy. When arrived in the elite-district he planned on visiting a lady-friend unannounced; she still owed him a favor. The lever quietly closed the door behind him. As he looked into the street, Snip could only see darkness lightened up by the few torches used as lanterns. With a normal pace Snip walked to the house of his ally where he and Wringer had done some business in the past, which mostly concerned the trading of forbidden weapons and magical items. Once arrived at the house he gave three soft knocks on the door, followed by a moment of silence, than gave one firm knock to finish the code. After a few seconds the door opened. Wringers face appeared in opening, only lit up by the poor streetlight. Snip immediately remembered why he hated the man; he was always grinning. The man could know the world’s biggest secrets and still hide it behind his grinning mask. “A dark night always brings good company” Wringer spoke. “Good evening Wringer, are you alone?” Snip replied. Wringer shut the door and nodded seriously: “We are living in some exiting times, so I am not expecting any guests at this hour.” Snip nodded and gestured Wringer to follow him upstairs. After hearing Snip’s instructions and rejections of his objections Wringer agreed upon Snip’s proposal. He answered to the demand and received a hefty payday for it. Snip shook Wringers hand and still despised the always present grin. When the door closed behind him Snip permitted himself a deep breath; this part was taken care off. To walk of his uneasiness Snip started to walk with a steady pace towards the district gate. After half an hour the gate finally appeared through the darkness. Snip’s heart made a small jump seeing the usual guards at the gate. He could easily get through. He slowly walked upon them so that they wouldn’t get startled. He asked them if they had granted passage to a small lad earlier this evening. The guard nodded conformingly. “Damn, I specifically told him to wait to deliver my message” Snip raged. “Can I get passage to kick the lad for his disobedience?” He took some coins from his pocket, handing them over to the guard. The guard smiled. "Go ahead" and she pointed towards the door. Still feigning to be grumpy Snip walked through the gate to the Craft-District. The difference between the districts was remarkable. The light almost engulfed him, the streets were cleaner and there were still people in the street enjoying life. This district would provide him his much needed package..he only hoped it was ready and waiting… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More pics @ https://www.flickr.c...157657889358265 C&C is welcome
